Abstract

The enactment of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Indonesian Criminal Code introduced the offense of cohabitation under Article 412, requiring greater public understanding of its legal implications and complaint-based enforcement mechanism. This community service program aimed to enhance legal awareness among members of Aisyiyah in Wangon District, Banyumas Regency, regarding the legal regulation of cohabitation and its socio-legal implications in order to prevent social conflict and vigilantism. The program involved 80 participants and was implemented through a participatory legal education approach consisting of educational lectures, interactive discussions, complaint submission simulations, and the distribution of educational materials. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, supported by observation and participant discussions. The implementation was carried out successfully with active participant engagement throughout the activities. Participants demonstrated improved understanding of the legal definition of cohabitation, the distinction between cohabitation and adultery, the complaint-based mechanism under Article 412, the parties authorized to submit complaints, and the importance of resolving disputes through lawful procedures rather than vigilantism. The interactive discussion sessions also indicated strong participant interest in the topic and highlighted the relevance of legal education to community needs. This community service program demonstrates that participatory legal education is an effective approach to strengthening public legal literacy regarding the new Indonesian Criminal Code. The program contributes to improving community awareness of lawful conflict resolution while reinforcing social and legal values within the community.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the psychological resilience and economic independence of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Hong Kong facing divorce and post-divorce life transitions. Guided by Kübler-Ross's grief theory and Bowen's Family System Theory, the activity was delivered online through Zoom on 20 June 2026 and involved 43 PMI members of the Bintang Nusantara Hong Kong community. Materials covered the emotional impact of divorce and recovery through four pillars: Mind, Emotion, Action, and Social connection. Program effectiveness was evaluated through pre-test and post-test assessments. Results showed a substantial increase in participants' knowledge and preparedness, with average scores improving from 62.8 to 82.8. The findings suggest that integrated psychological and financial interventions can effectively strengthen resilience among migrant workers undergoing major life transitions.

Abstract

In the global aviation and tourism sectors, travel service professionals are expected to provide exceptional hospitality, demonstrate cross-cultural competence and functional linguistic agility, and ensure passenger satisfaction and safety. Vocational high schools often have a significant competency gap, with high career expectations undermined by poor communication skills and an inability to convert regional cultural assets into interactive services. This community service initiative aimed to equip the students with local-wisdom storytelling techniques for tour guiding and enhance their in-flight hospitality skills, particularly in handling passenger requests and complaints. A Participatory Training approach was implemented with an interactive framework spanning stages of exploring, understanding, planning, direct role-play action, and impact evaluation. The project involved 24 Travel Service Business (ULW) cadets at SMK Penerbangan Sriwijaya Palembang. The evaluation of the initial session revealed that the students' attained a satisfactory level of storytelling skills, with an overall mean score of 2.97. A paired-sample test for the second session demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in the in-flight communication, from pre-test score of M = 73.46 (SD = 14.26) to post-test score of M = 85.40 (SD = 5.10), with large effect   size (Cohen's d = 0.86). The sharp decline of standard deviation demonstrated that training intervention has shown to effectively reduce communication anxiety, enhance speaking fluency, and minimise the linguistic competence gap among students. The findings suggest that participatory and simulation-based hospitality training can effectively prepare vocational students for professional aviation service environments.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology requires a shift in societal mindset from job-seeking to job creation through entrepreneurship. Housewives represent a strategic target group for community empowerment because many have limited opportunities to contribute to household income despite their potential to develop home-based enterprises. This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge, practical skills, and entrepreneurial motivation of women members of the Baitussalam Mosque Taklim Assembly in producing healthy frozen food to support family nutrition and income. The program employed an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on training, and continuous mentoring. Twenty participants were involved in producing three healthy frozen food products: carrot nuggets, vegetable chicken roulade, and tofu-egg sausage. Program outcomes were evaluated through direct observation, participant feedback, and post-training discussions using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that all participants successfully completed the production process and were able to independently reproduce the products during the training. Qualitative evaluation also indicated improved knowledge of healthy food processing, food safety, and vegetable enrichment, accompanied by increased confidence and entrepreneurial motivation to establish household-scale food businesses. Unlike conventional community service programs that primarily focus on either nutrition education or entrepreneurship, this program integrates both components within a community-based religious organization using the ABCD approach, thereby strengthening both nutritional awareness and economic empowerment. The integrated approach offers a replicable model for combining nutrition promotion with women’s economic empowerment in community settings, supporting sustainable community development.

Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcers remain a severe complication of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), often exacerbated by low health literacy and poor self-care practices. This community service program aimed to evaluate the effect of an interactive health education and live demonstration program on foot self-care knowledge among T2DM patients. Conducted in the work area of the Kahuripan Community Health Center in Tasikmalaya, the intervention involved 46 T2DM patients. The program consisted of three structured phases: preparation, interactive educational sessions featuring video screenings and live demonstrations with redemonstrations, and post-activity evaluations. Data were collected using standardized pre- and post-test questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The majority of participants were aged  years (52.2%), female (76.1%), and had a basic education background (63.0%). Statistical analysis revealed a significant improvement in knowledge levels (), with the proportion of participants in the "Good" knowledge category increasing from 8.7% at baseline to 78.3% post-intervention. Additionally, live redemonstration sessions effectively identified and corrected improper home-care practices. In conclusion, combining audiovisual education with live demonstrations significantly enhances foot-care knowledge and practical self-care awareness among T2DM patients in primary care settings.

Abstract

Background: Stunting and malnutrition remain public health problems in Indonesia, impacting physical growth, cognitive development, productivity, and the quality of human resources in the future. One of the factors causing stunting is the lack of knowledge of mothers regarding nutritional needs, parenting patterns, and feeding practices for pregnant women and toddlers. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of pregnant women and mothers with toddlers regarding stunting prevention and malnutrition management through health education and counseling. This counseling activity was conducted on February 5, 2026 and was attended by 50 pregnant women and mothers with toddlers. This counseling activity was carried out using interactive lecture methods, discussions, pre-tests and post-tests, and using presentations and brochures. The targets were pregnant women and mothers with toddlers. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge regarding stunting, risk factors, prevention, balanced nutrition, as an initial step to overcome malnutrition. This was indicated by an increase in participants' initial knowledge from 68.30% in the pre-test and 95.23% in the post-test. Participants also showed high enthusiasm during the counseling activity. This activity demonstrates that health education is an effective promotive and preventive strategy for increasing maternal knowledge as an effort to prevent stunting and address malnutrition. It is hoped that this educational activity can be implemented sustainably through collaboration between health workers, cadres, and local governments.

Abstract

Balanced nutrition is essential for supporting growth, cognitive development, learning concentration, and overall health among adolescents. However, inadequate nutrition knowledge and unhealthy eating habits remain common among school-aged adolescents. This community service program aimed to improve students' knowledge of balanced nutrition through the SEHATI (Healthy and Smart through Balanced Nutrition Education) program at SMPN 3 Sumedang. The activity involved 34 students from grades VII, VIII, and IX and was conducted offline on November 13, 2025. The intervention consisted of a pre-test, a 30-minute educational session using lectures and visual media, interactive discussions, and a post-test. The results indicated an increase in the average proportion of correct responses from 67.45% in the pre-test to 94.41% in the post-test, representing an absolute increase of 26.96 percentage points. The findings suggest that the SEHATI educational activity was associated with improved students' knowledge of balanced nutrition. Further programs involving repeated education, behavioral monitoring, and parental and school support are recommended to promote the sustained application of healthy eating practices.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to increase the value added of fresh milk produced by Padusan Nature Laboratory in Padusan Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java, where 12 productive dairy cows yield 150–200 liters per day that were entirely sold raw to collectors at IDR 5,500 per liter. The program involved 18 managers and dairy farmers and was implemented over six months (March–August 2026) using a Participatory Action Research approach through five stages: needs assessment, installation and transfer of a 10-liter/batch pasteurizer, five training modules totaling 24 hours, mentoring in bookkeeping based on the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM) and cost of goods manufactured (COGM) calculation, and digital marketing assistance. Outcomes were evaluated with a single-group before–after design using pre- and post-tests, a skills observation rubric, participant feedback, financial and production records, and laboratory testing. The mean knowledge score rose from 48.7 to 82.5, an absolute increase of 33.8 points equivalent to a 69.4% relative increase. Sixteen participants (88.9%) met the competency criterion and 14 (77.8%) adopted at least one new production, sanitation, financial-recording, or marketing practice. Laboratory testing indicated that the PADULAKTO pasteurized milk complied with the microbiological parameters assessed against SNI 3951:2018. The partner implemented COGM calculation, SAK EMKM-based recording, and digital marketing channels, with an estimated additional operating income of approximately IDR 1.8 million per month during initial commercialization. Because the design included no comparison group and the observation period was short, these outcomes should be read as program-associated changes rather than proven causal or long-term impact.
