Abstract

Malnutrition, including wasting and stunting, is a significant public health problem in Indonesia. In Malang Regency, the prevalence of stunting reaches 23%, exceeding the national and WHO thresholds. Petungsewu Village faces challenges related to inadequate nutritional intake among toddlers. Proper complementary feeding is crucial in preventing malnutrition. Empowering cadres through structured training and mentoring enhances maternal knowledge and feeding practices, supporting efforts to reduce malnutrition rates. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of cadres in Petungsewu Village by establishing the Complementary Feeding Corner. The program, implemented from February to November 2024, involved training and mentoring in the preparation and management of complementary feeding using locally sourced ingredients. A total of 32 cadres participated. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in cadres' knowledge and skills. After training, 90.63% of cadres achieved a "very good" knowledge level compared to 31.25% before training, and 90.63% demonstrated "very good" performance in skills assessments. The Complementary Feeding Corner, launched by health officials and local government, ensures access to nutritious food, strengthens community health, and supports cadres economically. Continued support from Public Health Center and local authorities is needed to expand this program and help reduce stunting in Indonesia.

Abstract

Local products represent the artistic craftsmanship of the local community and serve as part of the preservation of local culture. Additionally, they are a vital source of livelihood for local residents, supporting their household economy. The woven ikat fabric of Kumpang Ilong Village is an authentic creation of the village’s original residents, passed down from generation to generation. Preserving this traditional craft is crucial as a means of maintaining the community’s cultural identity. The purpose of this community service initiative is to assist the Kumpang Ilong Village ikat weaving group in marketing their products, particularly through digital platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. By leveraging social media, the aim is to expand the market reach beyond the local community to a wider audience outside Sekadau District, ultimately increasing sales and supporting the household economy while preserving this traditional artwork. The method used in this community service activity involves a combination of theoretical lectures and hands-on training. Participants are first introduced to the basic concepts of digital marketing, followed by direct training sessions where they create Facebook and Instagram accounts. One designated group representative is then tasked with uploading content related to their activities and weaving products on these social media platforms. As a result of this community service program, members of the Kumpang Ilong Village weaving group now have a platform to promote and sell their products. Moreover, participants have gained a better understanding of how to utilize social media, such as Facebook and Instagram, as effective marketing tools without difficulties.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the main nutritional problems that is still a public health challenge in Indonesia. Specific interventions carried out from the preconception period, including reproductive health education for brides-to-be, play an important role in efforts to prevent stunting. Objective: This program aims to increase the bride-to-be's understanding of the importance of reproductive health in reducing the risk of stunting in children in the future. Method: This program is carried out in the form of a Real Work Lecture (KKN) program in Jelegong Village, Rancaekek District, Bandung Regency. Activities include an initial survey of the bride-to-be, reproductive health education, and health checks that include checking hemoglobin (Hb) levels, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI). Evaluation is carried out through pre-test and post-test to assess the improvement of participants' understanding of the material provided. Results: The results of the evaluation showed a significant increase in the bride-to-be's understanding of reproductive health and stunting prevention. The average pre-test score of 77.4 participants increased to 94.1 in the post-test. In addition, the results of the health examination revealed that 47.8% of the bride-to-be had low hemoglobin levels, 34.7% had an abnormally low BMI, and 4.3% showed high blood pressure, which has the potential to increase the risk of pregnancy with suboptimal outcomes. Conclusion: Reproductive health education programs for brides-to-be have proven to be effective in increasing understanding and awareness of the importance of pre-pregnancy health preparation as a preventive measure against stunting. Further efforts, such as regular health monitoring and improved access to reproductive health services, are needed to strengthen the long-term impact of these interventions.

Abstract

MSMEs are the backbone of the economy, playing a crucial role in maintaining economic stability. The success of MSMEs is closely linked to the ability of business owners to innovate and adapt to changes. One promising innovation is the use of social media as a marketing tool. However, many MSMEs, including Bisan Snack, have yet to fully utilize platforms like TikTok and Instagram. This research aims to address this gap by providing intensive socialization on digital marketing to help MSMEs become more productive and relevant to current trends. The study combined interviews, observations, and documentation to carry out the activities, which involved introducing the basics of digital marketing, mentoring in creating TikTok and Instagram accounts, and developing tailored marketing strategies. The results showed that using feeds on these platforms significantly increased the visibility of Bisan Snack products, attracting consumers not only locally but also from other regions. This socialization opened the insights of MSME actors and motivated them to adopt digital marketing strategies. In conclusion, digital marketing, especially through TikTok, has great potential to enhance MSMEs’ competitiveness and productivity, enabling them to reach a wider market and increase revenue.

Abstract

A healthy community is a group where residents play an active role in overcoming public health problems independently. Efforts that can be made to improve community health must start  with family health. Based on the results of a survey that has been conducted, most families in RW 06, Sukamentri Village, Garut City District, showed that they did not understand the function of the family in the health sector, especially efforts to modify the home environment to meet health requirements. Data shows waste disposal habits, as many as 59.56% use open trash bins. In waste management, the majority (79.78%) do not sort waste. Ventilation data shows that most houses (61.80%) have adequate ventilation. These data show that some families have not been able to maintain the health of their home environment properly, such as waste disposal, wastewater disposal, ventilation, and other environmental health problems. Considering these problems, interventions need to be carried out to overcome the problem of low implementation of family functions in modifying the home environment to meet health requirements. The purpose of the activity is to increase family knowledge in implementing family functions in the health sector. The stages of the activity start from identifying problems, social preparation, and administrative preparation. Then activity results with the implementation and evaluation stages of the activity. The results of the activity showed an increase in family knowledge by 27.1 points. The average pretest score was 52.3 points and the average posttest score was 79.4 points. The activity went smoothly according to the planned time. It is hoped that the activities that have been implemented can be continued periodically by the Guntur Health Center.
