Abstract

Introduction Birth weight is the weight of a baby one hour after birth. Normal birth weight is between 2500-4000 grams , while babies with birth weight <2500 are said to be low birth weight (LBW). Babies born with low birth weight are generally less able to absorb new environmental pressures, which can result in stunted growth and development, and can interfere with their survival. Treatment that can be given to low birth weight (LBW) babies is with non-pharmacological therapy, which consists of baby massage, music therapy, kangaroo method care, and nesting. Nesting is a tool that has a shape similar to the mother's womb, which is used as a treatment to reduce LBW. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 5-10% of babies in Indonesia experience LBW, in addition, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, LBW is one of the causes of increasing infant mortality rates, namely 35.5% of neonatal deaths in Indonesia. In 2023, there were 14.95% of babies in Banten Province who had low birth weight (LBW) babies. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge to parents of babies regarding the benefits of using nesting for low birth weight (LBW) babies . The activity was carried out at the Banten Regional General Hospital in the Perinatology room, which was attended by mothers as parents of LBW baby patients. The method of the activity carried out was by providing questions about the benefits of nesting at the beginning and end of the activity, providing counseling materials related to the benefits of nesting for LBW, and also demonstrating activities on how to make nesting in a simple way that can be done at home. The activity took place for one day in June 2024. The results of this activity were that the families of LBW patients understood that LBW can be controlled through the nesting method , families can demonstrate nesting independently, and also increase family knowledge regarding the benefits of nesting. So it can be concluded from this counseling activity, namely the nesting method can provide good sleep quality for LBW.

Abstract

Ainuna Farm Dairy Milk (AFDM) is an integrated farm that was established in June 2021 in Pamijen Sokaraja Village, Banyumas, with the main product is goat milk. Goat milk production capacity is 10 liters per day which is marketed in a simple way around the village. Aside from that, freezers for raw materials and processed products, standard and more efficient cooking equipment for milk and dairy products, and improved packaging are still required. The goals of this project include obtaining marketable products of high quality in order to increase product competitiveness, structuring documents or financial records, and establishing online marketing networks. The methods used include: 1) counseling; 2) product diversification practices and packaging improvements; 3) business management assistance. Diversification of processed goat milk has been carried out, including making popsicles and goat milk ice cream with informative and attractive packaging (equipped with product specifications and nutrition facts) as well as halal registration. Assistance in preparing documents and financial records as well as adding online marketing networks. This project has the potential to raise the economic worth and quality of products, as well as partner earnings, resulting in more independent and wealthy partners.

Abstract

Sukodermo Village and Kertosari Village have abundant natural resource potential. However, behind this abundant potential is a problem of cleanliness, namely the large amount of waste that needs to be appropriately managed. Community service in Sukodermo Village and Kertosari Village aims to instill public awareness of global issues, especially the environment, by strengthening the circular economy as a global action. This service is carried out through a gradual Global Citizenship Education (GCED) approach, including surveys, pre-tests, socialization, training, post-tests, and focus group discussions (FGD). This community service program evaluates the level of community knowledge and interest in various environmental education topics.  Pre-test data shows that most participants need more knowledge about Global Citizenship Education (GCED), circular economy, and organic waste management. Furthermore, post-test data shows a significant increase in participant knowledge after the intervention program, where previously, the community only had an understanding level of 10% to 46.7%, increasing to 90% to 96.7%. Finally, the FGD that was conducted successfully produced a collaborative design for all levels of the village to jointly realize a Village that has global awareness and implements a circular economy as an effort to care about environmental issues and improve welfare. Overall, these results show a significant increase in knowledge and interest in implementing environmental education and circular economy programs in Sukodermo Village and Kertosari Village, which can contribute to the development of better environmental education.

Abstract

The Abon production process is very conventional and takes one and a half (1.5) days for 5 kg of chicken meat with a workforce of 5 people. The most extended production process is during the pounding and shredding of chicken meat, about one full day for five workers. This impacts the Abon production capacity and the group's monthly turnover. The purpose of the service is to design and provide machine tools for the production modernization process and train the use of machines for the production modernization process. The Pengabdi team carried out the service by providing machine tools to automatically mash and shred chicken meat quickly and accurately with a time that was previously 1.5 days to 15-20 minutes for 5 kg to improve the quality and quantity of shredded production at Partners. Then, I will assist in sustainable industrial management and training on the use and maintenance of engineering machines in a participatory manner. the production process is not optimal, which has an impact on sales turnover, has been resolved by the Service Team by providing 1 unit of shredded meat shredding machine during the implementation of this service activity. The lack of innovation in the product, because it is still one type of original flavour, Chicken Meat Shredded, has also been resolved by the Service Team by diversifying the product through testing the shredded meat shredded rendang flavour machine.

Abstract

The urgency of this Community Service activity is to overcome the limitations of the economic capacity of bricklayers due to productivity challenges. The main problem in the initial survey results illustrates the high risk of job loss for bricklayers as seasonal workers. Most bricklayers are unemployed for three to four months a year. This activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of bricklayers in making lightweight bricks. These skills will be useful in economic opportunities for bricklayers when they are unemployed. The implementation of the training, which is divided into two parts, namely education about lightweight bricks and training in making lightweight bricks, took place effectively with the involvement of 25 bricklayers. The activity evaluation results showed that most participants were skilled in preparing materials and tools, mixing mortar, and molding lightweight bricks.
