Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the aspects that influence the interior and architecture that meet green design standards. Activities that supports environmentally friendly actions (Green Design will be assessed both in terms of function, space and material selection program or other efforts. The other thing is to analyze whether there are other efforts such as the using of sustainable materials or the using some types of plants to help revitalize the fresh air in the room. This journal is made based on the literature data and the results of interviews with Green Building Association. Green Design in the Planning office interiors is an effort that should be done together. If this effort is done collectively, the expected negative impact of global warming can be reduced.

Abstract

Cultural acculturation can be seen from various aspects, where the fusion of two cultural elements will not remove the could go to Indonesia and was applied to the temples in Indonesia, but still did not leave the cultural elements of Indonesia. Temple Jin De Yuan was one of the many temples in Jakarta, especially in the area of Chinatown, an area in terms of population, form of shelter, social order and the atmosphere of the environment had historically rooted characteristic of cultured Chinese people which was very thick with the architecture Chinese. Article presents how the application of Chinese architecture as a manifestation of Chinese culture and acculturation Indonesia in the  temple Jin De Yuan  can increase the cultural treasury of Indonesia. The research applied qualitative method and also library research.

Abstract

This paper aims to understand the similarities and differences between Chinese and Indonesia Culture. In order to achieve this goal, five culture aspect were analyzed. They are (1) greeting and farewell; (2) thanks and apologies; (3) honorifics and Qianci; (4) praise and politely refuse; (5) dinner and gifts. The research used comparative study method. By analyzing the five aspects of the Indonesia and Chinese culture, research concludes that the Chinese and Indonesian culture have similar common greetings and farewell, honorifics and low self-esteem, praise and politely refuse, dinner and gifts; and Chinese people have not left taboo.

Abstract

This research aimed at examining ways by which Madurese women could achieve satisfaction in early marriage. This research used a qualitative research method with an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). To understand the meaning of one?s experience by looking for themes from available data, IPA rested on three pillars, namely phenomenology, hermeneutics, and idiography. In this research, the researchers used semi-structured interviews to collect data and purposive homogeneous sampling. The participants involved were three married women under 18 years old who were living in Madura. The results of the research show that the three women are satisfied in their marriage. The satisfaction of their marriage can be seen from taking care of each other when sick, giving her enough money, and always happy with her husband, not far apart. Furthermore, Madurese women dissatisfaction in her marriage can be seen from anger if she is not given money and is not helped in doing household.

Abstract

Article was aimed to reveal how both positive and negative sides of competition among television stations in Indonesia was seen from their programs seen by television viewers. The study used qualitative methods to get an overview of the phenomena occurring at the social phenomenon. Data were collected by observation and documentary. Observations were made to the programs presented by various television stations, while the documentary was to process data and share ratings released by AGB Nielsen throughout the year 2011.  The results show that the competitions between television stations happened today have not presented many positive sides from the viewers because of the limited programs offered in Indonesia. In fact, many programs are aired only a repeatation of the previous successful ones.

Abstract

The goals of this article is to know why sponsorship only to be viewed as sources of funding to implement the public relation events or marketing communication events. Method used in this article is qualitative method research to be based on observation, library study and content analysis. The result of this research seems that change happened in role of sponsorship from only fund source to become a partner of cooperation (mutual symbiotism) between sponsor and event organizer. This article exploring the change of sponsorship concept from only looking for sponsor as an activity of fund mobilitation to become a partnership cooperation between event organizer and sponsor company. The mean of sponsor itself beside the fund supporter, they are also a side who takes mutual benefit from the cooperation. Conclusion, any close relationship (mutual benefit) between two sides who take cooperation in event implementation (sponsor and event organiser).

Abstract

Digital photography has recently developed rapidly. Apart from the development of film media to digital, digital itself develops significantly, especially in media aspect which a camera nowadays is not only used for taking pictures, but also can be implanted in other media, for instance smartphones or tablets. It is very common that mobiles have built-in cameras. The quality of image offered is getting better. The development of smartphone technology has reached to a certain capability to run an operational system as it is in computer media so that there are a lot of softwares or applications created. One of them is an application for photo editing. Photo editing applications in smartphones are created because of the development of applications in social media which is rapidly developed in mobile media. Social media has recently been a need for city people, in the fast and modern society. Social media is a media for interaction. One form of the interactions is photography which many applications in social media offering sharing photos fast and easily so that city people can update any or all activities or through photos which are uploaded in social media. Photo editing applications in smartphones eventually become the most downloaded applications. Therefore, people have more options to try or use various photo editing applications offering instant photo editing to suit their wish.

Abstract

Analysis cultural association of color is an approach to know color from cultural side. Unlike previous studies about color, which see the color from the aspect of psychology, then this color research?s aimed to provide insight local colors based on culture. Johannes Itten?s theory of color is used as the basis theory in this research. The theory will be reflected into the cultures of Indonesia, and in this research represented by Sumatera Island. The scope of cultural colors that will be examined is textile product of traditional clothes, bride, apparel and culinary, because these products are the most closely reflection of a culture in a society where the society defines the identity of its own. This research of a qualitative method covers collecting data of study literature, interviewing the color experts, historians and artists, visiting cultural centers especially that associated with textil and culinary product. The result will be formed of morphological matrix cultural over color. Matrix of analysis will be held in arquement and proposal study, where students can use, cultivate, and maximize method of color in visual communication to achieve the contrast and balance.

Abstract

This article clarifies a research that concerned with Wahid?s thoughts and actions that saw Islam from its basic value, not merely as a symbol. Therefore, Wahid presented Islam from democratic and cultural sides. To present the phylosophical analysis of Wahid?s thoughts, the research applies hermeneutics approach and library research, especially reading Wahid?s books as the primary sources, and others? books related to Wahid?s thoughts as the secondary sources. It can be concluded that Islam presented by Wahid is the Islam that relates to softness, adoring loves, defending the weakness and minority, sustaining to lead the justice, having faith and honesty, tolerance, inclusive, and showing plualities.

Abstract

This research is based on the increasing numbers for traffic level in Jakarta and also less facilitated mass transportation; therefore the district government of DKI Jakarta built another mass transportation (busway) as one solution for the problems. The local government of DKI Jakarta uses mass media, especially television, to socialize the busway transportation for community. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative along with interview and related documentation as data gathering technique. The research uses theories like mass communication theory, including mass media, television, and advertising. The research result is known that public service advertising has a big role for the government of DKI Jakarta as socialization media for busway transportation; however that does not followed by the right socialization process.
