Abstract

This modern era has changed the pattern of how humans do their daily activities in 24 hours. The pattern change includes time-shifting, most human activities now are performed at night. The consequences of the changes in human activities pattern and the increase of artificial lighting use in the night were assumed unhealthy, but how the mechanism worked was not identified yet. This was an experimental study conducted on male Wistar rats aged 12-16 weeks which were divided into 4 categories: 1 intervention group exposed for 15 days, 1 intervention group exposed for 30 days, and 2 control groups for each time exposure, light intensity 1200lux. At the end of exposures, the blood samples were taken from rats that had been anesthetized before by using ether. Then blood samples were taken to analyze their cortisol levels using the Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method and the hematology was examined through autoanalyzer Abaxis. The data were analyzed using an independent T-test and Mann-Whitney test and considered significant if p-value<0,05. Overall, the cortisol and hematology levels indicated, especially Red Blood Cell (RBC), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC), and neutrophil specifically for the group which had been exposed by LED lighting for 30 days.

Abstract

Obesity is a global health problem suffered by people around the world, including Indonesian. Adipose tissue dysfunction and fat distribution are affecting the incidence of obesity-related diseases. The study aimed to compare the levels of lipid profiles (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides) and inflammatory markers (ESR and leukocyte count) between groups with normal nutritional status and obesity. Data were collected using a cross-sectional study with 14 young adult men for the normal nutritional status group with a BMI of 18,5-24,99kg/m2 and 14 young adult men for the obese group with a BMI ³25 kg/m2 in August-December 2019. The respondents aged 18-35 years were measured body composition and tested for levels of lipid profiles and inflammatory markers. The results of statistical tests with independent t-test showed no difference in the number of leukocytes (p-value=0.08) but there was a significant difference in ESR (25,1±14,1 vs 47,2±23,7,p-value=0,006), total cholesterol (126,6±26,4 vs 175,5±32,0, p-value=0,001), triglycerides (113,3±38,3 vs 161,5±46,9,p=0,006) and LDL (53±18,4 vs 95±27,3, p-value=0,001). This study concludes that there are significant differences in levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and ESR between groups of individuals with normal nutritional status and obesity.

Abstract

Three burdens of malnutrition, namely undernutrition, overnutrition, and lack of macronutrients are problems faced by adolescents in Indonesia. Nutritional problems related to development and growth are often experienced by adolescents because the adolescent's body requires more energy and nutrients than children. Previous studies on nutritional intake and nutritional status in adolescents reported inconsistent results. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional intake and nutritional status in adolescent girls in Buleleng Bali. This study uses a cross-sectional analytic observational design conducted in two high schools in Buleleng Regency with 163 respondents. The instruments used in this study were a questionnaire, 2x24 hour food recall, weight measurement with a weight scale, height measurement with a mechanical meter, and the World Health Organization (WHO) AnthroPlus software to calculate the body mass index by age (z-score). Spearman correlation test was performed for bivariate analysis and multiple linear regression for multivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis showed that the variables of fat intake (p-value=<0,001) and total energy intake (p-value=0,008) showed a significant correlation with the z-score. In multivariate analysis, the variable that showed a significant relationship with the z-score was fat intake (β=0,023, 95%CI=0,013-0,033, p-value=<0,001). Nutritional intake that has a significant relationship with nutritional status in adolescent girls in Buleleng Regency is fat intake. Limitation of fat consumption needs to be done.

Abstract

One type of cardiovascular disease that often occurs is coronary heart disease. Although the coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedure can help overcome coronary heart disease problems, the post-CABG recovery stage can also lead to an increase in angina symptoms (chest pain), decreased ability to exercise, and mostly in the Quality of dimension life. The purpose of this literature review is to determine the effectiveness of the PRECEDE educational model in reducing depression and improving quality of life in patients with coronary heart disease who have CABG. This idea seems reasonable was carried out by searching through databases in PubMed and ScienceDirect until May 13, 2020, for nursing studies in chronic heart disease patients with CABG. Two articles were found that were suitable for a literature review. Findings from the literature suggest that designing educational interventions according to the PRECEDE model significantly improves all aspects of a patient's quality of life. Providing educational programs with the PRECEDE model can reduce depression in patients with CABG. This PRECEDE educational model can reduce depression and increase QoL in patients with Coronary heart disease who have undergone CABG.

Abstract

Obesity is the accumulation of excessive fat in the body as a result of an imbalance in the amount of energy that enters and leaves the body. One of the causes of obesity is sedentary behavior. Sedentary behavior makes the activity passive. Behavior changes are also happening at this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Pandemic makes all activities to be carried out from the home to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, like studying from home. Online school is considered more passive than offline school because when a rest period that can be used for physical movement through interacting with friends like playing together. Whereas online school, teenagers are only more dominant in being silent in front of a laptop or smartphone. This study aims to determine the effect of online school on sedentary behavior at risk of obesity in adolescents. This type of research is a quantitative study using a cross-sectional design. The number of respondents in this study consisted of 267 people. Data was obtained through the results of questionnaires which were conducted online using Google Forms. The results showed that online schools had a high risk of sedentary behavior by 49,1%, 44.9% of moderate risk, and less risk by 6,0%. Statistical test using chi-square obtained p-value=0,008 (<α=0,05). So it can be concluded that there is an effect of online schooling on sedentary behavior that is at risk of obesity in adolescents aged 15-19 years in the city of Medan.

Abstract

Prisoners experience stress during detention, and this stress must be removed so that the behavior and mentality of prisoners can be quickly restored. Foot massage is one of the non-pharmacological therapies in stress management, which makes individuals more relaxed and able to avoid excessive stress reactions such as headaches, insomnia, anxiety, physical and mental fatigue. Magnesium is a mineral that plays an important role in the body's metabolism. Magnesium deficiency can cause migraines, insomnia, leg cramps, anxiety, arrhythmias, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension. Foot massage with magnesium lotion is expected to provide a relaxing effect as well as magnesium intake so that it can overcome the stress experienced by prisoners. This study aims to determine the effect of foot massage magnesium lotion on the stress level of female prisoners. The research method is a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test approach on 120 female prisoners by comparing stress levels before and after doing foot massage with magnesium lotion for 14 days. Foot massage with magnesium lotion is done independently. Based on the results of the study, there was a significant difference between stress levels before and after the intervention, there was no significant difference between the stress levels of respondents who had long been detained and those who had just been detained. Multivariate analysis showed that the main factor in stress levels was the sentence period. Foot massage using magnesium lotion is a supporter of reducing stress levels. This therapy should still be done because it helps reduce stress and is carried out independently by prisoners.

Abstract

In producing a good radiographic image, an optimization method is needed. This study was conducted to seek optimization of the radiographic examination of the manus ossa with objective and subjective image quality analysis. The research method is quantitative experimental, using a variety of exposure factors: 40kV 4 mAs, 40kV 10 mAs, 46 kV 5 mAs, 53 kV 2,5 mAs, 61kV 1,25 mAs. Then an objective quality analysis is carried out by measuring the pixels value, Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), and the Exposure Index (EI) value as an indicator of exposure. For subjective image analysis with the assessment of image anatomy criteria using the method Visual Grading Analysis (VGA), then the test was carried out Wilcoxon to determine the relationship of respondents to VGA assessment. The results of the study obtained that the optimization method of the examination manus ossa at the exposure factor of 46 kV 5 mAs with the results of an objective image quality analysis of the range of pixel value  183,7 - 3, the SNR range of 12,2-1,77 while the subjective image quality analysis of the results VGA all images on a variety of exposure factors can be used in establishing a diagnosis. For the exposure indicator with the lowest EI at an exposure factor of 46 kV 5 mAs. The results of the Wilcoxon p-value>0,05 so that there was no difference in the VGA value by 2 radiographers, therefore all image results on variations in exposure factors could be used in the radiographic examination of the ossa manus.

Abstract

Microdontia is a tooth size abnormality that indicates a smaller than normal tooth size, it can also be accompanied by deformities, namely with a cone or cone shape. The role of restoration in dentistry must fulfill various aspects, namely aesthetic needs and functions. This literature aims to provide information and an overview of the selection of the right treatment for patients with microdontia anatomical anomalies. Denture crown treatment is expected to meet consumer satisfaction in terms of aesthetics, phonation and mastication. Denture crowns or crowns can be made of several materials, namely metal, composite, acrylic and porcelain, besides a combination of the two materials such as metal-porcelain or what is often called porcelain fused to metal (PFM). PFM is used to restore severe tooth decay to protect the remaining tooth tissue structure, maintain occlusion and provide aesthetic value.
