Abstract

Conditions of macroeconomic, increase of equipment/piping price, chemicals, generators operating costs and tax of groundwater affect to operational costs PDAM Kabupaten Purbalingga, hence the need for tariff adjustments. Analysis tools used in this study is the Break Even Point (BEP) in accordance with the Permendagri Number 02 Year 1998 About the Guidelines on Water Tariff Determination The Regional Water Company. Based on the analysis results that basic tariff PDAM Purbalingga is Rp. 1261 per m3, so that PDAM Kabupaten Purbalingga needs to adjust rates by taking into account the level of ability to pay from their customers. Tariff adjustments must be accompanied by an increase in service to customers, thus increasing customer sacrifices will be balanced by an increase in the value (service) from PDAM Kabupaten Purbalingga.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of internal corporate governance mechanisms of the tendency of managers to behave opportunistically. Samples used are manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange with the observation period started in 2000 to 2007, and data analysis methods used are the path analysis through Amos 1.6 program. The results of this study show that: 1) internal corporate governance mechanisms that represented with independent boards and boards size could prevent the tendency of managers to opportunistic behavior represented by debt to assets ratio; 2) the internal mechanisms of corporate governance represented by boards size are able to prevent the tendency of managers to behave opportunistic represented with systematic risk.

Abstract

Advertisement is a kind of communication between the company and thecustomers. Advertisement isn’t only useful for the company as a promotion media, butalso useful for the customers as an information media about the products. A fewdecades ago, TV is the most favorite media that is used as a promotion media becauseTV is an entertainment and information media that can reach people widely. However,in the emerging digital age at this time, TV is considered to be less effective to be madeas an advertising media because its segments are too wide and then it will affect on theexpensive advertising cost. Nowadays, the companies prefer to turn to the internet tocreate online advertising because of the characteristics of online advertising that areconsidered more effective for advertising such as clearer segmentation, loweradvertising rates, and more interactive.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the development of cooperatives, to investigate the influence of own capital, loan capital, bussines volume, and receivable turn over on added value of cooperatives. The samples of this research were financial statements in Sejati Mulia business cooperatives, Ceger Jaya busiess cooperatives, and Tunas Jaya business cooperatives from 2004-2014. Abstract

Zakat is the 3rd Islam principle from 5 o f them after shalat, zakat is the important maaliyahijtima’iyyah worship whether if we look from the Islam knowledge or from the social aspect for the society welfare. Zakat can be described as a blessing, growth and development. Beside it is compulsory for individual, it is also compulsory for the company. For company, zakat is the tabaru (social) aspect which can help the parties that need help and it also can increase the development o f the company itself. Company zakat are counted based on the general requirements or based on accountancy principle in PSAK No. 109 about the accountancy o f zakat and infaq/sedekah which is legalized on May 2008 by DSAK and IAI where the company’s zakat will be counted 2,5% from the profit after tax. The expression o f Corporate Social Responsibility) in Indonesia is one o f issues which is up to date to be discussed, whether for the conventional or Islamic company. In Islamic company (Syariah Bank) the expression o f CSR is measured by using different index with the expression o f conventional company index. The expression o f CSR in syariah bank is not using CSDI (Corporate Social Disclosure Index) anymore, but by using ISR (Islamic Social Reporting) index which consist o f 6 indicators, they are infestation and finance, organization management, product and service, human resource, social and environment. The development o f the company as the dependent variable in this research was combined with three rentabilitasratios; they are Return On Asset (ROA), Return On Investment (ROI), and Return On Equity (ROE) variable.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of innovation capability on product improvement and to test the moderating effect of environmental hostility and firm size on the relationship between innovation capability and product improvement. Respondents of this study include the businesspeople of small and medium enterprises in manufacturing sector in Purbalingga Regency, totaling 92 enterprises selected by purposive sampling. The analysis tool to test the hypotheses was Partial Least Square (PLS) using SmartPLS 2.0 software. The results show that innovation capability has a significant direct effect on product improvement, whereas environmental hostility and firm size do not moderate the relationship between innovation capability and product improvement. The results imply that the business people of small and medium enterprises should pay special attention to their firm’s capability to generate breakthroughs in order to improve product quality leading to business survival.

Abstract

Financial decisions in the company are an important part that is very influential on operational and financial performance. The survival of a company is showed from an operational activity that carried out, so that the company gets the desired results. Financial decisions in the form of working capital policies are important for the survival of the company. Companies can use working capital to get good financial performance. Financial performance can be reflected in profitability and firm value. The role of working capital towards financial performance in companies involves other factors, namely firm size. Large companies with assets have quite a lot of different policies on the use of working capital. This impact will affect the financial performance produced. Associated with the size of the company, this study examines working capital for financial performance by considering firm size. The study aims to examine working capital for financial performance. The study was conducted on manufacturing companies in the Indonesia Stock Exchange with a study period of three years 2015 to 2017. Test results showed the relationship of working capital to financial performance by considering firm size. With this connection, it shows the importance of using woking capital that is good enough to generate profitability and firm value.   Keywords: working capital, financial performance, profitability, firm value, firm size.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: first, to examine the effect of compensation, leadership, and job environment on employees job performance. Second, to examine which variable has the greatlest effect on employees job performance at Rumah Makan Gama Gerai Purwokerto. There are two main findings: first, compensation, leadership, and job environment have a significant effect on employees job performance. This was proved through the value of computed –F (32,2626) > Ftable (2.7694) and the value of computed –t of compensation variable (tx1) 42423,, leadership variable (tx2) 2.6262, in the other word tx1, tx2, tx3 are greater than ttable. So the first hypothesis was supported. Second, the elasticity test showed that value of compensation (E1 ) was 0.3803; elasticity of leadership (E2) was 0.2315 and elasticity of job environment (E3) was 0.2673. So, the variable that has the greatest effect on employees job performance was compensation variable. In the other word the compensation has been suitable with employees want and it will increase their job performance. As implication, Rumah Makan Gama Gerai Purwokerto has to pay more attention and try to increase employees job performance by having evaluation on the three variable. It must be done as whether in total or in partial they have significant effect on employees job performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of the inflation rate, the BIrate, foreign exchange rates, the Dow Jones, the Nikkei 225 index and the Hang Sengindex againts movement Jakarta Composite Index. This research was conducted duringthe period January 2009 until December 2013. Data collection techniques used themethod of documentation, literature review and internet search. This research usedmultiple regression model as a means of testing the hypothesis. Population in this studywas the Indonesia Stock Exchange, using purposive sampling as a sampling technique.The results of this research showed that the rate of inflation, the BI rate, the Nikkei 225index and the Hang Seng index had no significant effect on Jakarta Composite Index,while the foreign exchange rates and the Dow Jones index had significant effect onJakarta Composite Index.
