Abstract

A geographical name is a name that identify specific feature on the earth. That features could be a settlement, administrative region, natural feature, artificial feature, unbounded region, or virtual region. Under the Law Number 4 of 2011 concerning Geospatial Information, the geographical name is one of the layer that must appear on the base map. The acquisition of geographical names can be facilitated by crowdsourcing map that are conducted by corporations or the public. The objectives of this study are 1) to carry out an inventory of geographic names through crowdsourced maps, and 2) to examine the opportunities and challenges of the study of geographic names in rural areas. We observed data from crowdsourcing maps, e.g., Google Maps, Here Maps, and OpenStreetMaps that cover Giripurwo Village. We used spatial comparison in this research. We also compared its appearances on various mapping scales. A field survey was conducted to get more qualitative information about geographical names and to test the accuracy of maps. The results showed that there were differences between the crowdsource map services in presenting the geographical names at the same scale level. We face constraints in this mapping, i.e. limited accessibility in the entire region and sparsely populated in a karst region. Conversely, the high participation of rural communities is beneficial in this mapping process.

Abstract

The Kandayan Dayak is one of the customary community (MHA) which has been hereditary living in the forest area of West Kalimantan province. The Kandayan has rules and local wisdom in managing natural resource that have long been inspired by the ancestors, but their legal status of their residence and customary land area overlaps with the area of forest timber forest product utilization (UPHHK-HTI) and oil palm plantations. The uncertainty of the ulayat rights made the Kandayan customary to move to areas outside the limited production forest controlled by UHHK-HTI. The limitations to access natural resources make these indigenous peoples have tocollaborate with local entrepreneur through profit-sharing mechanism. Along with this partnerships, they are losing the livelihood resources that have so far sustained their survival and they are also uprooted from the bonds of cultural relations with their land. In other words their sovereignty over the right of forest resources becomes eroded by excessive capitalization by the modern forest industry

Abstract

Dieng Plateau is located across 6 administratives jurisdiction. It lays on 6 regencies, namely Banjarnegara, Wonosobo, Pekalongan, Batang, Temanggung, and Kendal. Most of priority part located in Banjarnegara. This research aims to analyze the condition of existing land use and its spatial planning. It also analyzes the suitability in both condition, based on criteria proposed by Ministry Regulation of ATR/BPN Number 6 Year 2017. Also, the factor causing this suitability. The method used is qualitative method. The existing condition is identified through Quickbird interpretation and field survey. Other primary and secondary data also collected from local government and population. This reseach shows that there are 11 existing land use that could be identified with the biggest amount of vegetable garden. For the planning, there are 10 types with the biggest amount of horticulture land. The level of suitability could be classified as high. From the criteria of type and amount, the unsuitability percentage is only 9,36%. While from the effect, the land use implementation effecting both local and regional scale. This condition is caused by natural factor, social factor, and other factor (technical factor and regulation factor). Key words : land use, spatial planning, spatial implementation

Abstract

One of the goals of learning geography is to give students the ability to think spatially. But based on observations in the field, it shows that students' spatial thinking skills have not shown maximum results. This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) learning model on spatial thinking skills in class X geography subjects at SMA PGRI 2 Palembang. To determine the effect of Project Based Learning (PJBL) on spatial thinking skills, the researcher used the Experimental method. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion on the effect of Project Based Learning (PJBL) learning models on spatial thinking skills in class X geography subjects at SMA PGRI 2 Palembang, it can be concluded that the results of the average data analysis results of the students' experimental class spatial thinking test 76.02 while the control class averages 61.72. Based on the results of the t-test obtained thitung = 8.43 then compared with ttable = 1.66, then tcount> ttable is 8.43> 1.66. These results prove that there is a significant influence between the Project Based Learning (PJBL) learning model on spatial thinking skills in class X geography subjects at SMA PGRI 2 Palembang.

Abstract

In Geography Study Program, fieldstudy is the hallmark of geography outdoor learning. The similar activities of fieldstudy are fieldwork, fieldtrip, outing, excursion, cooks tours and others. The implementation of fieldstudy in the universities of teacher training has the similarity in its naming, its definition, its purpose, material of the study, the duration of the activity, the location of the fieldstudy, and data processing. The difference of the fieldstudy implementation lies on the ratio of supervisor to students, funding, outcome product and assessment. Universities that conduct the fieldstudy should review the curriculum in its implementation so that the credit, the assessed product and process have the similarity both in the credit and the supervisors who assess.

Abstract

This study discusses the regional boundary conflicts that occurred in Indonesia during the era of regional autonomy. The conflict occurred because of a lack of planning, in the design of decentralization, as well as weak regulation. In reality, regional boundary conflicts hinder the implementation of government functions, reduce the level of service to the community, and potentially lead to legal uncertainty. Regional boundary conflicts, in the form of spatial conflicts (territories) are caused by several factors, namely: Economy, in the form of potential control of natural resources; political factors, related to electoral politics; juridical factors, weak legislation; social factors; historical and cultural factors; administrative technical factors, in the form of overlapping agency maps. As a way of solving it needs to be done through juridical settlement; regional cooperation bordering each other; and the application of one map policy. In addition, solutions can be through community participation, from various groups and social strata.
