Abstract

Coenzyme Q10 berfungsi sebagai antioksidan yang dapat melindungi tubuh dari kerusakan yang dikarenakan radikal bebas. Coenzyme Q10 tidak stabil dan mudah terdegradasi ketika terpapar cahaya sehingga perlu dipilih suatu sistem penghantaran yang dapat memperbaiki stabilitas serta dapat meningkatkan penetrasinya. Nanostructured Lipid Carier (NLC) merupakan salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan penetrasi obat melalui stratum corneum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh HPMC 606 terhadap kadar Coenzyme Q10 yang terpenetrasi pada kulit tikus. Pada penelitian ini dibuat sediaan patch tipe membran menggunakan sistem NLC. Coenzyme Q10 sebagai drug reservoir, sedangkan HPMC 606 sebagai rate controlling membran dengan kadar 20%, 15%, dan 10%. Uji penetrasi Coenzyme Q10 dari sediaan patch secara in vivo dengan menggunakan kulit tikus Wistar. Semakin kecil kadar HPMC 606 yang digunakan (20%, 15%, 10%) ternyata menghasilkan nilai fluks yang cenderung semakin besar (F1 = 15,714±0,257 %/jam ; F2 = 14,778±0,224 %/jam ; dan F3 = 13,765±0,182 %/jam) dan lag time yang semakin cepat (F1 = 0,523±0,029 jam ; F2 = 0,657±0,021 jam ; dan F3 = 0,679±0,016 jam). Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin kecil HPMC 606 yang digunakan sebagai rate controlling membrane, maka semakin besar Coenzyme Q10 yang berpenetrasi, sehingga F1 terpilih sebagai formula yang paling baik.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is the most common psychotic disorders. Incidence rate 1-2% in the population counted from populations who have experienced the condition. The most common type is paranoid schizophrenia. Antipsychotic combination therapy is widely used in schizophrenia. There are some problems in schizophrenia therapy due to antipsychotics use, one of them is parkinsonism as a side effect of treatment. The aimed of the research was to identified the combination therapy and symptoms of parkinsonism experienced by paranoid schizophrenia patients who use therapy with 2 combinations of antipsychotics. This was a descriptive study, retrospective data collection technique using 93 medical records in 2018 period. The results showed the use of 2 types of antipsychotic combinations,haloperidol-chlorpromazine (44.1%) and haloperidol-risperidone (55.9%) combinations. The number of patients who experienced parkinsonism on haloperidol-chlorpromazine combination therapy (N = 41) was 20 patients and who did not experience 21 patients. Whereas in the combination therapy of haloperidol-risperidone (N = 52), there were 16 patients with parkinsonism and 36 patients who did not. Parkinsonism experienced by patients include hypersaliva; muscle tremors and rigidity. Percentage of parkinsonism in haloperidol-chlorpromazine combination therapy, including hypersaliva 42%; 50% tremor and 8% muscle rigidity. In the haloperidol-risperidone combination group, hypersaliva was 61%; tremor 15% and muscle rigidity 24%. The conclusion obtained from the results of the study is the percentage of parkinsonism in haloperidol-chlorpromazine combination therapy is greater than haloperidol-risperidone combination therapy.

Abstract

Herbal cosmeceuticals are cosmetic-pharmaceutical hybrids intended to enhance health and beauty through natural ingredients that are applied onto skin surface. The ability of an ingredient in enhancing skin's biological texture and function depends on the delivery system to reach specific targeted sites in an amount sufficient to exert an effect in a controlled manner. The novel approach that could be used in the delivery of herbal cosmeceuticals is nanoparticle-based delivery system. Many researches have been conducted on the development of nanoparticle-based delivery system containing natural ingredients such as gotu kala extract, rosemary extract, orange peel extract, ginseng extract, basil extract, safflower extract, resveratrol, and Taduvelai extract. Based on the literature study of previous researches reported that nanoparticle-based delivery system has been successfully delivered those natural ingredients through certain mechanism in enhancing activity as skin antiaging, skin whitening, antiacne, and hair care product.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai formulasi sediaan lotion ekstrak sari buah jeruk manis (Citrus x aurantium L.) sebagai tabir surya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan formula yang baik dan aman untuk digunakan bagi pemakainya. Pengujian tabir surya dilakukan dengan penentuan nilai SPF dengan spektrofotometer Uv – Vis. Pengukuran nilai SPF dilakukan dengan mengukur serapan sediaan spektrofotometer setiap 5 nm pada panjang gelombang 290 – 320 nm. Evaluasi sediaan Lotion meliputi organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, Viskositas, dan daya sebar selama 28 hari. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi sediaan lotion relatif stabil. Lotion yang mengandung ekstrak sari buah jeruk manis (Citrus x aurantium L.) dengan konsentrasi 4% menghasilkan nilai SPF 24 yang berarti pada nilai SPF yang dihasilkan bisa melindungi kulit secara ultra

Abstract

Green tea extract can be used as an antioxidant because it contains catechins in massive, the use of this extract in direct application can an unpractical, so it was made in the form of gel. The addition of the methylcellulose and carbopol were used as the basis of the gel formation. The aim of this research was to get the gel optimum formula of the green tea extract using two addition substances they were methylcellulose and carbopol. The green tea extract was obtained by maceration using ethanol 70% then it was evaporated to obtain concentrated extract. The gel made in four formulas based. The gel produced were tested for physical characteristics of organoleptic, viscosity, spreading ability, the time of sticking, and activity of antioxidant. The optimum formula based on parameters of physical characteristics of the gel; they are viscosity, the spreading ability, the time of sticking. The results showed that the tea leaf extract can be made as a gel which has anti-toxic agents. The IC50 value in the four tea leaf extract gel formulas can be a very strong antioxidant agent (IC50 value <50).

Abstract

ABSTRAK Siput sawah (Filopaludina javanica v.d Busch 1844) telah digunakan oleh masyarakat Jawa Barat untuk mengobati tukak lambung secara empiris, namun belum ada penelitian yang membuktikan efek tersebut. Pengujian ini merupakan pengujian farmakologi yang bertujuan mengetahui penurunan indeks tukak lambung pada tikus yang diinduksi asetosal. Induksi asetosal dosis 405 mg/kg diberikan selama 10 hari. Daging siput sawah yang telah direbus diberikan selama tiga hari dengan dosis 3,310 g/kg dan dosis 6,620 g/kg. Obat pembanding yang digunakan adalah Lansoprazol dosis 5 mg/kg. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa persentasi penyembuhan dosis 3,310 g/kg adalah sebesar 4,92 % dan dosis 6,620 g/kg sebesar 8,20 %. Indeks tukak lambung pada tikus kelompok uji lebih rendah dari kelompok kontrol positif dengan signifikasi P>0,05. Kata kunci : Siput sawah, Filopaludina javanica v.d Busch 1844, antitukak lambung, asetosal ABSTRACT People in West Java consume rice field snail (Filopaludina javanica v.d Busch 1844) to treat peptic ulcers but no scientific studies have proven that effect. This research is a pharmacological test that aims to determine the reduction in the index of peptic ulcers in mice indusced by acetosal. Rat-peptic ulcer model was induced with acetosal 405 mg/kg body weight for 10 days. Boiled rice snail meat is given for three days at a dose of 3,310 g / kg and a dose of 6,620 g / kg. The comparison drug used is Lansoprazol dose of 5 mg / kg. The results showed that the gastric ulcer healing dose 3,310 g/kg and 6,620 g/kg were 4,92% and 8,20%. Peptic ulcer index in the test group mice was lower than the positive control group even though there was no significant difference (P> 0.05). Keyword: Rice field snail, Filopaludina javanica v.d. Abstract

Obat off-label merupakan obat diluar indikasi yang tertera dalam label atau diluar persetujuan oleh lembaga izin edar seperti Badan POM dan FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Beberapa alasan penggunaan obat off-label adalah kurangnya respon klinis pada pengobatan sebelumnya, kontraindikasi dengan obat alternatif lain seperti tersedianya obat yang disetujui sesuai indikasi serta pasien dengan pengobatan alternatif karena alasan klinis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan studi literatur. Hasil penelusuran literatur misoprostol obat off-label yang paling banyak ditemukan penggunaannya dari. 5 penelitian memaparkan misoprostol dengan indikasi kehamilan patologis yang perlu tindakan dengan rute tersering didapatkan secara pervaginam. 2 penelitian memaparkan penggunaan obat off-label ondansetron indikasi hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) dengan dosis 4 mg dan 8 mg per oral. 1 penelitian penggunaan off-label rute pemberian dari Nifedipine sebagai tokolitik pada persalinan preterm imminens dengan dosis 10-20 mg/oral, sublingual setiap 15-20 menit dalam 3 dosis. 1 penelitian penggunaan obat off-label methotrexate sebagai penanganan kehamilan ektopik dosis tunggal 1 mg/kg atau 50mg/m² secara IM. 1 penelitian memaparkan penggunaan mifepristone yang dikombinasikan dengan misoprostol. Off-label drugs are drugs outside the indications stated on the label or outside the approval by distribution permit agencies such as the POM and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Some of the reasons for using off-label drugs are lack of clinical response to previous treatment, contraindications with other alternative drugs such as availability of approved drugs as indicated and patients with alternative treatments for clinical reasons. The research method used is literature study. The most search results of the off-label drug misoprostol were found to be of use. 5 studies described misoprostol with indications of a pathological pregnancy requiring action by the most frequent route obtained vaginally. 2 studies described the use of the off-label drug ondansetron indicated by hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) at a dose of 4 mg and 8 mg orally. 1 study the use of off-label route of administration of Nifedipine as a tocolytic in preterm imminent labor at a dose of 10-20 mg / oral, sublingually every 15-20 minutes in 3 doses. 1 study using the off-label drug methotrexate as the management of ectopic pregnancy as a single dose of 1 mg / kg or 50 mg / m² IM. 1 study described the use of mifepristone in combination with misoprostol.
