Abstract

Abstract

Container is a component that has many sizes and types, in various countries, containers are used as containers to deliver goods. But the last 20 years make containers as a residence is a trend that began to be populer, especially around the port area. The use of containers is one of the right choices because the components are modular and easy to move around, but the construction aspect also needs to be considered in the preparation of those components. The purpose of this research is to understand the concept of modular architecture applied to the occupancy of Cité A Docks Student Housing, either modular system or modular structure using the main components in the form of containers. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with research variables using modular theory from Le Corbusier and prefabricated architectural theory from Ryan E. Smith. The findings of this study obtained that the Cite a Docks building has established the concept of modular architecture, either in the quality of each module of space or on the structure of the building. Each room module size is in accordance with the capacity of each occupant and considers the human scale as the size of each room. In the overall prefabricated structure system already uses steel prefabricated components, but there are different materials on the foundation components, which use reinforced concrete precast materials. Although materially there are 2 types of steel and reinforced concrete, but the entire component of this building has used modular components. Abstract

The human needs for livelihood have become important part as an effort to maintain its survival. Therefore, one of the job opportunities that can be done is to work in the informal sector. The informal sector also appears in public spaces, the example is at low-cost apartment building (rusunawa), such as food stalls and grocery stores in corridors, playgrounds or parking areas of rusunawa. This study looks at the development of the function of the rusunawa as a residence into an informal economic space in the Rusunawa in the City of Surabaya. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, by connecting the correlation between the public space and the informal economy space (logic model analysis and cross-case synthesis). So that it can provide knowledge about the planning and development of rusunawa in the future, as policy guidelines regarding the planning and development of rusunawa. Abstract

Product Sound design has been an integral part for many renown company in designing product, due to its big contribution in shaping the user's experience (Langeveld, van Egmond, Reinier; dan Özcan (2013)). According to what cause the sound, consequential product sound is the product sound that happens because of the product's internal mechanical interaction, and the charachters are dependent on the material, size, and mechanism. However, there are stillvery few people who develop and apply these principles for products made of natural material, such as wood. Whereas, by understanding the product sound produced by the wooden product, there could be a unique user experience, that in turn, will increase the product's economical value. That's why, we try to identifies the percieved product sound that may be produced on a rubber band powered mechanical toy car made of plywood as a pilot research in defining the product sound charachter of wooden toy made fromplywood. In the next research, some sound charachter concluded in this paper could be a reference and a starting point in determining the desired product sound outcu\ome. The sound identification was done on 4 test product with different mechanism, yet same basic looks. The identification include the physical sound charachter (difference in intensity, frequency, and waveform) and the perceived sound charachter (using semantic diferential). The unique perceived sound charachter found are then connected to the physical sound charachter as a general conclusion. Abstract

Improved design adjustable desk is related to a table that can be adjusted in position. This table can be used not only in a forward and backward tilted position, but can also be used in left and right side tilted position, so there will be more activities that can be adjusted to the needs and desires of the user. The purpose of this study is to develop a design by providing innovation to the adjustable desk that is already on the market so that the table is more multifunctional when used by users. This study uses an adjustable desk design development method, through data collection from observations, interviews, questionnaires, literature studies, data analysis, and design results. Based on the results of the discussion, it was found that the adjustable desk will add several buffer components to the table for one person with the table surface that can be adjusted according to the user's wishes, in 30o, 45o, 60o, and 90o tilted positions. The tilt position of the table is regulated by a tilt lock to make it easier for users to adjust the position of the table surface by moving the table surface to the desired position. The results of this design development will be a guide for industrial design. Keywords: Improved design, adjustable desk, Multifunction Furniture

Abstract

This paper focuses on examining the role of the growing core house concept in increasing the livability of houses and housing in Indonesia. The house is a very valuable place vital for human development, the house is a shelter and a basic human need. Therefore the house must have the feasibility to support all activities of normal daily life. However, the feasibility of houses and housing is still a problem in Indonesia, this is due to the construction of houses and housing that does not really consider functionality but is more profit-oriented. This study uses a literature study research method. The concept of developing core houses to grow can be an alternative to increase the feasibility of houses and housing in Indonesia with several potentials, such as simple design, ease of construction, and affordability and weaknesses, such as being able to create slum areas if not planned properly. Abstract

Green building is a concept as a response to global urban heat island problems, water pollution and ozone depletion. The concept of green building has been applied in various tools, none other than GBCI with six categories. This paper evaluates the La Cucina building in Seoul with the aim of knowing the extent to which GBCI is implemented outside the region as it should be and knowing the constraints and advantages of the rating tool. The method used is to make a La Cucina building simulation with Archicad software then evaluate the calculations with exel, velux and look for the building material literature and match it in the greenship tool. The results obtained in the existing building OTTV values and natural lighting have not reached the GBCI target, while for environmentally friendly materials and fabricated materials, they have not yet been fully achieved. Therefore, it was retested in accordance with the initial recommendations and results. The final results of OTTV, natural lighting, environmentally friendly materials and fabrication materials as expected and successful. The conclusion and recommendation of this paper is that OTTV can be achieved by measuring shading and replacing glass materials which have low Sc Glass and Uv values. While in lighting, 30% of the space on each floor has natural lighting. For environmentally friendly materials and fabricated materials, it has been achieved, evidenced by the material and fabrication certification from the factory. Abstract

Colonial building implies acculturation accompanied by a process of adaptation between two different nations. The facade building is the first visual element has a characteristic depending on the style of the colonial building. Characteristics of colonial buildings in general are use of gewel, towers, dormers, symmetrical plans, open roofs with sharp slopes, lined pillars, high building scales and wide window models shaped like fighting butterflies. 2 Junior High School Bandung is an example of a Dutch Colonial-style building located at Sumatra street No. 42. Qualitative research methods are used with descriptive data. The qualitative theoretical basis is used as a guide so the research focus is appropriate. Data collection techniques were carried out through a literature search which was accessed via internet. The results showed that seven characteristics of colonial buildings (except towers) were owned by 2 JHS Bandung in the past and present. The building's aesthetic values are also owned entirely by the building, namely balance, rhythm, proportion, harmony, climax and functional expression. Changes that affect the visual facade building are the repainting of the entire building, thus causing the transfer the function of the pillars to become accents in the building. Then, the front yard is added with some flagpoles and trees. The style of the facade building is Dutch colonial, which can also be referred to The Empire Style / The Dutch Colonial.
