Abstract

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a collection of symptoms and infections that arise due to damage to the human immune system due to infection with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The number of HIV patients at Panti Wilasa Hospital continues to increase from every year in 2018 the number is 150 HIV / AIDS patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the increase in CD4+ levels of HIV / AIDS patients receiving ARV therapy at Panti Wilasa Citarum and Dr. Cipto Hospitals Semarang. This research is a quantitative study, with a cross-sectional approach. The minimum sample of the study was 38 respondents using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study using Multiple Logistic Regression. The results of the study, the most influential variables were clinical stage (p=0.000), and concomitant disease tuberculosis (p = 0.14) on the increase in CD4+ levels. The risk of HIV / AIDS transmission in Indonesia is the highest and until now, there is no cure for HIV. ARV therapy can inhibit the development of the HIV virus, giving ARVs is given if the CD4+ level is less than 500 cells / mm3, or there are other conditions in HIV patients. The importance of early awareness in ARV therapy for early initiation of ARVs is proven to be clinically beneficial, useful for prevention, increase life expectancy and reduce the incidence of HIV-related infections.

Abstract

Since 2016, the Hospital ‘X’ has been operating an Electric Medical Record (EMR) and it is integrated with all units, including pharmacy, and it intends to increase its efficiency. 50% of hospital’s income comes from the pharmacy and there is no evaluation related to the using of EMR towards quality of drugs planning. The purpose of this research is to know the correlation between technology factors (system quality, information quality, service quality) of EMR and quality of drugs management at the pharmacy of the Hospital ‘X’. This research uses quantitative research method with cross-sectional approach, and it involves 53 respondents with questionnaire as the data collection technique. The data itself analyzed by SEM PLS (Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square). The research results show that the information quality of EMR gave significant correlation with the quality of drugs planning, whereas the system quality and EMR service quality were not influenced. The correlation between the information quality and the perception of drugs management quality was significant with T-statistics 7,9508>1.96 and the sample original value was 0.6551. The system quality was not significant with T-statistics 1.6159 < 1.96 and the sample original value was positive, 0.1702. The service quality was not significant with T-statistics 0.6297 < 1.96, with the sample original value was negative, -0.0591. This research shows that the simplicity aspect in understanding the information influences towards the utilization of drugs management, but it needs to increase the system and service quality from the devices, connectivity, network, and upgrading the staff capability aspects.

Abstract

Obesity is the buildup of abnormal or excessive fat that can be detrimental to health. High flavor-flavoring consumption or monosodium glutamate (MSG) is one of the factors contributing to the increase in obesity of the Indonesian population. This study aims to analyze the effect of MSG on giving to Lee's index in mice. The Lee index is one of the indicators in determining mice obesity. The type of research was pure laboratory experimental research, with the design Post Test Only Control Group. The mice were divided into four random clusters. Each cluster contained six mice. The control cluster was given standard feed + drink, cluster I was given standard feed + drink + MSG 10.4 mg / 20gbb, cluster II was given standard feed + drink + MSG 20.8 mg / 20gbb and cluster III was given standard feed + drink + MSG 26 mg / 20gbb for 28 days. Day 29 was the weight lift and the length to calculate the lee index. Data normality analyze used Spahiro Wilk and the homogeneity test used Levene's test. The results of the variance homogeneity test showed that the value of p = 0.374, so that the lee index value of each cluster did not have a significant difference (p> 0.05). Then continued with the One Way Anova test, the value of p = 0.246 (meaningful if p <0.05). It could be concluded that the provision of MSG 4 grams, 8 grams, and 10 grams did not have a significant effect on the lee index value in mice between the control cluster and the treatment cluster.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) remain a challenge and public health problem in the world. The biggest obstacle to encounter HIV and AIDS is stigma and discrimination. Citizens Who Care about AIDS (WPA) is a form of community participation in mobilizing the society to be involved in HIV-AIDS prevention and control. Data from the AIDS Prevention Commission (KPA) Semarang City shows that most WPA do not have work programs and have not carried out administrative activities, therefore making it difficult for KPA to conduct monitoring and evaluation. The purpose of this study was to analyze predisposing factors (age, gender, marital status, occupation, educations, level of knowledge, stigma and discrimination), enabling factors (availability of health facilities, support for health services) and reinforcing factors (stakeholder support, regulation, social culture). This study used the Cross Sectional Study method. The research sample consisted of 100 people using the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. The technique of collecting data by interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test and logistic regression. The results showed that there was an effect of knowledge (p = 0.002), stigma of discrimination (p = 0.000), stakeholder support (p = 0.000), socio-culture (p = 0.016) on WPA performance. The most influential variable is stake holder support (p = 0.000. OR = 3.656). The involvement of stakeholder support is really needed for better WPA performance.
