Abstract

The obesity is a condition of excessive fat in the body that can have a significant effect on health. The excess consumption of fast food can cause excess fat in the body. The high amount of the allowance makes the adolescents easier to consume the fast food which is reachable. This study aims to analyze the direct and indirect effect of allowance on obesity through consumption of fast food. This research is a quantitative study with a case control study approach. A sample of 100 respondents consisting of 20 case samples and 80 control samples were obtained by using fixed disease sampling technique. Data analysis used chi square test and multivariate analysis. The results obtained were that pocket money had a direct effect on the incidence of obesity (b = 1.4; 95% CI = 0.54 to 2.25; p = 0.001). This allowance has an indirect and significant effect on the incidence of obesity through consumption of fast food (b = 1.3; 95% CI = 0.17 to2.43; p = 0.024). The consumption of fast food has a direct effect on obesity with values (b = 1.55; 95% CI = 0.38 to 2.71; p = 0.009). The conclusion of this study is allowance has a direct and indirect effect on adolescent obesity. The results of this study are expected to become a reference for related parties in improving nutritional problems (obesity), particularly in controlling the allowance and consumption of fast food among adolescents.

Abstract

Occupational skin disease is the second most common occupational disease in Europe after musculoskeletal injuries, while the most common occupational skin disease is contact dermatitis, accounting for 70-90%. Determining the cause of contact dermatitis in the work environment is very important, because avoiding the causative agent will lead to a cure and reduce the recurrence rate. This study aims to analyze the relationship between personal hygiene, knowledge, use of personal protective equipment, and working period of allergic contact dermatitis in scavengers at the Piyungan Yogyakarta garbage dumpsite. This type of research is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design. The research sample was 112 scavengers. The analysis of this research uses Path Analysis. The results showed that there was a direct relationship of personal hygiene to allergic contact dermatitis with a path coefficient of 0.243 (p = 0.003 <0.05), there was a direct relationship of knowledge of allergic contact dermatitis with a path coefficient of 0.216 (p = 0.000 <0.05), There was a correlation between the use of PPE on allergic contact dermatitis with a path coefficient of 0.124 (p = 0.001 <0.05). There was a relationship between working period and allergic contact dermatitis with a path coefficient of 0.253 (p = 0.000 <0.05). Scavengers should increase knowledge about allergic contact dermatitis, especially regarding the impact and prevention of allergic contact dermatitis and pay more attention to regular individual hygiene.

Abstract

A viral disease called Corona Virus Disease 19 (COVID-19) had been declared as a pandemic by WHO since March 2020 because the rate of spread is very fast, causing death and having an impact on social and economic aspects. The professions most at risk are health workers including doctors and nurses because they are in direct contact with COVID-19 patients. Doctors and nurses at RSUD K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro also have a high risk, ranging from being infected to dying from the COVID-19 virus, therefore they must have good behavior in preventing COVID-19 infection to protect themselves. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the behavior of doctors and nurses on the behavior of preventing COVID-19 infection. This research is a cross sectional study using questionnaires distributed to 100 doctors and nurses consisting of general practitioners, specialists and nurses at K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro Hospital in February-March 2021. Among 100 participants, 43% had good behavior and 57% had poor behavior. The factors that are significantly related to the behavior of preventing COVID-19 infection on doctors and nurses at RSUD K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro are motivation and attitude, and the most influential factor is attitude. These results indicate that there are factors that must be maintained so that doctors and nurses maintain good behavior in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 disease, thereby helping to reduce the rate of disease transmission between doctors and nurses, further to the community.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an environmentally-based dangerous disease which is still a world health problem. WHO noted that Indonesia is a country with the highest cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Southeast Asia (WHO, 2016). In 2019 the cases increased with the number of cases 137.761. West Kalimantan Province is one of the 5th highest provinces out of 34 provinces in Indonesia for 2018. Ketapang Regency is in the first place with the highest number of cases in Delta Pawan District. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of socio demography and physical environment on the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. This study used a case control design. The research sample was 132 respondents (66 cases and 66 controls) respondents obtained by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques by interviewing, questionnaires, and observations. Data analysis using chi-square. The results showed that there was a relationship between income (p = 0.024), ventilation (p = 0.005) and water reservoirs (p = 0.023). There was no relationship between population mobility (p = 0.601) and house distance (p = 0.577) with the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever. The conclusion of this study is that the variables associated with the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in the Delta Pawan district of Ketapang regency are income, ventilation and water reservoirs variables. It needs to increase health promotion about the dangers of DHF and the importance of PSN (advocacy, atmosphere building, social support and household empowerment) and improve the performance of jumantik through continuous supervision and facilitation, it is necessary to increase awareness by always closing water reservoirs and using gauze. Through these efforts, it is hoped that there will be an increase in larva free (ABJ) and a decrease in the incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF).
