This journals is an international journal, publishing original refereed articles on all aspects of mathematics education. Papers should address the central issues in terms which are of relevance across educational systems and informed by wider thinking in the field. The journal has three sections, covering research papers, book reviews, and current reports. The Research Papers section contains reports of studies involving empirical investigation and theoretical argumentation from which conclusions and implications can be drawn for future research and practice. Such reports are expected to show how the study builds on critical review of relevant literature and to provide an account of the methods and procedures used. Reports on thoughtful replications or variations of key earlier studies are welcome, as are critical reviews of some well-defined aspect of mathematics education. The journal welcomes high-quality research in any methodological tradition and is open to innovative and unusual approaches. All submissions are peer-reviewed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the improvement in mathematical communication skills of students who get the Learning Cycle 7E model assisted by quizizz is higher than students who get conventional learning models. The method used in this research is a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. This study involved two classes as experimental and control classes. Students in the experimental class received learning with the Learning Cycle 7E model assisted by quizizz while the control class received learning with a conventional learning model. This study involved 30 students of class VIII A and 30 students of class VIII C at Pasundan 6 Bandung Junior High School. The instruments used in this study were 5 questions of mathematical communication ability test descriptions. Data analysis technique with two-sample comparison test (t-test). The collected data were processed using IBM SPSS 23.0 software for windows. The results showed that the improvement in mathematical communication skills of students who obtained the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by quizizz was higher than students who obtained the conventional learning model.

Abstract

The background of this research arises from the need to improve the quality of mathematics learning at the junior high school level, especially regarding mathematical problem-solving skills and critical thinking. With the challenges of globalization and technological advances, the use of the Geometryx application as a support for Core and I-CARE learning is considered an innovative step in providing better understanding to students. This study aims to investigate the influence of Core and I-CARE learning supported by the Geometryx application on the mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking skills of junior high school students in Lebak Regency, Banten. The research method used is Quasi-Experiment with a 2×3 factorial design, involving 1,948 students from 10 State Junior High Schools in Lebak, Banten. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling technique, with the seventh-grade classes of SMPN 2 Sajira and SMPN 1 Cibeber as samples, each consisting of Core and ICARE classes with 104 students through cluster random sampling. Data were collected through a pretest from two essay questions of space and shape content AKM, and posttests of mathematical problem-solving ability (2 essay questions) and critical thinking ability (2 questions). Data analysis used two-way ANOVA (Two-way ANOVA). The results showed that 1) there is an influence between Core and I-CARE learning models assisted by the Geometryx application on students' problem-solving abilities in the high category, 2) there is an influence between Core and I-CARE learning models assisted by the Geometryx application on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities in the high category, and 3) there is an influence of Core and I-CARE learning models assisted by the Geometryx application on students' problem-solving and critical thinking abilities in the high category. The results of this study have significant implications for the world of mathematics education in SMPN Lebak Regency, Banten. The use of Core and I-CARE learning models, supported by the Geometryx application, contributes positively to the mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking skills of students.

Abstract

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis sangat penting bagi siswa karena dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam segala aspek kehidupan. Model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran PBL berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada tingkat sekolah menengah pertama. Jenis penelitian ini adalah meta-analisis. Hasil analisis terhadap tujuh artikel menunjukkan bahwa satu artikel mempunyai effect size sedang dan enam artikel lainnya mempunyai effect size tinggi. Selain itu, nilai efek gabungan ketujuh artikel tersebut sebesar 1,46 yang tergolong tinggi. Mengacu pada hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai thitung sebesar 15,831 lebih besar dari ttabel yaitu 1,966 sehingga rata-rata kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP yang diberi model pembelajaran PBL lebih baik dibandingkan yang tidak menerapkan model pembelajaran PBL. Model pembelajaran PBL. Oleh karena itu, model pembelajaran PBL dijadikan salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa khususnya pada tingkat sekolah menengah pertama.

Abstract

This research aims to determine student motivation towards the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring (REACT) learning strategy. The population in this study were all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Subang for the 2023-2024 academic year. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique, samples taken from class VIII C were 34 students as an experiment. The experimental class was given learning using the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring (REACT) model to determine students' motivation for learning mathematics and mathematics questions. The instrument used in the research was a non-test in the form of a questionnaire. Questionnaires were distributed after the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring (REACT) model learning was carried out to find out whether students' motivation in learning mathematics and completing mathematics questions increased. The scale used in this research is the Likert scale. Based on the results of the data in this study, it shows that motivation for students who show interest in learning mathematics gives positive results with an average score of 4.0. Students' learning motivation towards the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring (REACT) model learning strategy gave positive results with an average score of 4.1. Students' learning motivation towards mathematical problem abilities gave positive results with an average value of 4.2. So it can be concluded that learning with the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring (REACT) model can be used as an alternative in mathematics learning that can raise students' enthusiasm and motivation.

Abstract

Learners, especially at the elementary school level, must have mathematical problem solving skills. The purpose of this study is to analyse the ability of primary school learners to solve mathematical problems using the stages of Polya's Theory. This research uses a type of Concurrent Triangulation, which combines quantitative and qualitative methods when collecting data and analysing it. Interviews and written tests were used to collect data. The subjects in this study were fourth grade students of SD Inpres 29 Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua Province with a total of 22 people. The results showed that the problem solving ability of students was still in the low category with details of the acquisition of mathematical problem solving in the high category category 27.27% or 6 students, medium category 31.83% or 7 students, and low category 40.9% or 9 students. In the learning process, teaching materials are needed as well as developing strategies in the learning process that are relevant to the characteristics, environment and needs to support students' mathematical problem solving skills.

Abstract

Wirausaha tentunya akan menjadi sebuah pilihan untuk menghindari sulitnya mencari sebuah pekerjaan, Dengan menjadi wirausahawan seseorang akan lebih kreatif dan kritis dalam mengambil keputusan guna memajukan wirausaha yang dibangunnya. Namun banyak hal yang menjadi tantangan para wirausahawan, seperti modal awal yang terkadang cukup besar, sulitnya merintis kewirausahaan dari awal(dasar), tingginya tingkat persaingan dibidang usaha tersebut, tidak adanya jaminan keberhasilan dalam menjalankan usaha tersebut. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui model perhitungan goal programming yang dapat meminimumkan biaya produksi yang diperlukan dan memaksimalkan pendapatan keuntungan penjualan. Hasil perhitungan produksi roti dalam sehari produksi pada model goal programming yang diselesaikan menggunakan software lingo 20.0 adalah Nilai yang diinginkan pengambil keputusan adalah Rp.4.500.000,- Nilai yang dihasilkan setelah perhitungan adalah Rp.3.764.597,- Nilai yang diinginkan pengambil keputusan adalah Rp.1.000.000,- Nilai yang diinginkan pengambil keputusan adalah Rp.1.602.391,-

Abstract

This research was prepared using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with stages 1) Research Question; 2) Selection Criteria; 3) Search Strategy; 4) Select Studies; 5) The Quality Of Studies; and 6) Synthesis Results. Article searches were obtained from Google Scholar, Sinta, Scopus and Garuda using the keywords E-LKPD, Liveworksheets, and understanding mathematical concepts. The articles studied consisted of 10 Sinta and Scopus indexed articles published in 2020-2024. The purpose of reviewing this article is to emphasize the importance of developing teaching materials that support active learning in increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The results of research using the Systematic Literature Review method show that the development of Liveworksheets-assisted E-LKPD is declared to have met the feasibility test in terms of material, media, and trial results in both small and large groups. So this E-LKPD is declared valid, practical and effective for use in learning. Thus, E-LKPD assisted by Liveworksheets can make a positive contribution in increasing the effectiveness of mathematics learning, especially in increasing students' understanding of concepts

Abstract

The ability to think mathematically critically in learning mathematics is essential for students to understand and help solve a problem in math. The ability to think critically mathematically is very low. One of the learning alternatives that can be used in training mathematical critical thinking skills is through the CORE learning model. (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending). The study aims to find out whether the influence of students' ability to think mathematically critically has been achieved on the higher CORE learning model among students who obtained expository learning. The method used in this research is semu experiment (quasi experiment) with non-equivalent control group design, the subject of this study is a student of class XI High School Pasundan 3 Bandung. Sampling techniques use purposive sampling, using two classes: experimental class and control class.
