Abstract

The research about the anti-inflammatory effect of ethanol extract of kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata (L) R.M. King & H. Rob )that gave topically with granuloma pouch method. Inflammation was induced by carrageen 2 % in thesesame oil gave in subcutaneous. Extract administered topically in cream which was given on graded concentrate: 2,5 %; 5 % and 10 % for 4 days. Diameter of inflammation, volume of edema, and amount of leukocytes cell in the mice white male were being the parameter of this research. The parameter which was obtained at the end of the research was showed that the ethanol extract of kirinyuh(Chromolaena odorata (L) R.M. King & H. Rob ) in graded concentrate 2,5 %; 5 % and 10 % can suppress the increase of parameter. They were significant difference between increasing doses of ethanol extract of kirinyuh(Chromolaena odorata (L) R.M. King & H. Rob ) with graded dose to diameter of inflammation, volume of edema, and amount of leucocytes cell in the blood significantly (p<0.05).

Abstract

An assay of the active cuteneous antianaphylactic of the ethanolic extract  Etlingera elatior (Jack). R. M. Smith on white male mice could be determined by measurement of the pro long of occurrence time, the decreased in diameter and the color intensity of the blue bump formed by using blue evan’s solutian as indicator which was given intravenously. The ethanolic extract were given in three different doses (100, 300, 900 mg per kg body weight). Allergic reaction was induced by giving egg’s albumin as antigen. Increasing the dose caused pro long of occurrence time increasing dose, decreased in diameter and the color intensity of the blue bump. The result was analyzed by one way ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis. Result indicated the ethanolic extract of Etlingera elatior (Jack) R. M. Smith had significant effect for each dose (P<0.05).

Abstract

Determination of vitamin C in purple dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyhizus) using High Performance Thin Layer LiquidChromatography (HPTLC) Densitometri with silica gel 60 F254 plate has been studied. The flash of dragon fruit was extracted using methanol by maseration method and the maseration extract was concentrated by using rotary evaporator. Vitamin C was seperated  by using HPTLC plate with silica gel 60 F254 as stutionary phase and etanol : acetic acid (9.5 : 0.5) as mobile phase  and the Rf was 0.64. The spot was maesured by using TLC-densitometry at 254 nm. The vitamin C content in dragon fruit maesured by using linear reqression y = 1726.9 + 17.8008x, r = 0.992. Limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) ware 13.32360 ppm and 44.41201 ppm. Respectively  the recovery and RSD were calculated which, were 99.24 % and 7.42 % respectively. The study result showed that vitamin C content was 31.21564 ± 2.58116 ppm.

Abstract

The research on antioxidant activity test and the determination of the degree of vitamin C from fruit extracts purplish red dragon (Hylocereus lemairei (Hook.) Britton & Rose) has been done. On this research fresh dragon fruit meat mashed with blender and maceration methode used ethanol solvent 96% with three repetitions. The results of maceration evaporated with rotary evaporator until viscous extract. The test of free radical DPPH deterrent and the determination the degree of vitamin C in extracts purplish red dragon fruit (Hylocereus lemairei (Hook.) Britton & Rose) using vitamin C as a comparison. On the antioxidant activity test, extract was made with various concentration i.e. 1000 µ g/mL, 1500 µ g/mL, 2000 µ g/mL, 2500 µ g/mL, 3000 µ g/mL, obtained the percentage of antioxidant activity was 28.57 %, 34.67 %, 41.81 % , 46.13 %, and 51.78 %. On the determination of the degree of vitamin C extract, the extract is made with concentration 1000 µ g/mL used spectrophotometer UV-Vis showed that the degree of vitamin C in extracts purplish red dragon fruit (Hylocereus lemairei (Hook.) Britton & Rose) was 24.79 mg/100 g dragon fruit.

Abstract

Study about activity of the central nervous system stimulant of  breadfruit’s leaf the water fraction Ocimum santum L. Using experimental animals  male white mice (Mus musculus, L) has been done. Breadfruit’s leaf the water fraction at a dose of 25 mg/kg BW, 50 mg/kg BW and 100 mg/kg BW given to mice orally 15 days. Stimulant activity was tested on day -5, -10 and -15. As a comparison used caffeine 13 mg/kg BW while luminal 50 mg/kg BW is used to test a long sleep induction and sleep in mice. Parameters used stimulant activity is endurance test with Rotary road equipment, test sensor activity and test motor activity wiht a Automotic hole board and sleep induction test and a long sleep. From the research that has been done, it is know that kemangi leaf the water fraction at a 25 mg/kg BW, 50 mg/kg BW and 100 mg/kg BW have a central nervous system stimulan activity by increasing endurance, sensor activity and motor activity as well as increase the time to accelerate the induction of sleep and long sleep in mice sigficantly (P>0,05).

Abstract

Effect of extract of bitter herbs (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Ness) has conducted research on the levels of NO in hypercholesterolemic male white mice. Hypercholesterolemia was induced by high-fat foods and propylthiouracil. Bitter herbs extract was administered orally every day for 60 days with a dose of 25 mg/kg BB, 50 mg/kg BB, and 100 mg/kg BB. The negative control group was only given regular meals and a positive control group was given a high-fat foods and propylthiouracil. Parameters measured were the levels of NO in serum. The results showed that the extract of bitter herbs can increase blood levels of NO white male mice when compared to the positive control (hypercholesterolemia), but still lower than the negative control (normal animals) (P<0.05). While the old factor does not affect the administration of organ weight ratio of the heart, liver and kidneys and significantly (P>0.05).

Abstract

Research on the effect of ethanol extract of leaf dragon scales (Pyrrosia piloselloides (L.) M. G Price) against clotting time, bleeding time and the number of platelet cells in mice white male. The parameters observed owere the bleeding time, clotting time of blood by the method of the slide and the number of platelet cells by direct calculation method. Animal experiment was divided into 5 groups: negative control group, the dose of 100 mg/kg BW, a dose of 200 mg / kg BW, a dose of 400 mg/kg BW, and by comparison of vitamin K at a dose of 0,026 mg / kg orally. Effects were observed on day 7, 14 and 21. The study showed that ethanol extract leaf dragon scales (Pyrrosia piloselloides (L.) M. G Price) can shorten the bleeding time, shorten the clotting time of blood and increase the number of cells platelet white male mice. A dose of 400 mg/kg BW has been giving maximum effect in shorten bleeding time, shorten the clotting time of blood and can increase the number of platelet cells in mice white male.

Abstract

The research about formulation and evaluation of physical stability of ibuprofen suspension using arabic gom and  natrium carboxymethylcelulose as suspending agent had been done. Concentration of arabic gom and  natrium carboxymethylcelulose were 2.5 : 0.25, 5 : 0.5, 2.5 : 0.75 and 5 : 1 % for F1, F2, F3 and F4 respectinely. Evaluation of physical stability had been done  for 8 weeks, ie organoleptic, density, viscosity, volume of sedimentation, redispresion, pH, freeze thaw cycling, crystal growth and particle size distribution. Concentration of arabic gom and natrium carboxymethylcelulose had been influenced the physical stability of suspension.

Abstract

The simple, accurate, sensitive and selective ultraviolet spectrophotometry has been developed and validated for analyzing of propanolol hydrochloride tablets with absorbance and area under curve method. These methods used solvent HCl 0.1 N with wavelength 288.60 nm, and the area under the curve measured at a wavelength of 248-302.80 nm. The calibration curve obtained in the concentration range of 8-16 µg/mL. With absorbance method showed results of the linear regression equation of y = - 0.1516+0.0502x  and value of r = 0.99993 and with the area under curve method showed results of the linear regression equation y  = –2.664+0.7657x  and value of r = 0.99973. The percentage of propanolol hydrochloride tablets with trademark of propanolol HCl absorbance method was 99.21 %  and with area under curve method it showed 101.24 %. The percentage levels of both samples fill the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia standards edition V which was 90–110 %. The average of percent recovery and RSD were obtained from both samples by absorbance and area under curve fill of validation parameters, ie 80-120 % and 1-2 % respectively. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significantly different between both of these method (sig.>0.05).

Abstract

Caffeine benzoate semisynthetis had been create from tea powder which produced by PTP Nusantara VI Kayu Aro, District of Kerinci, Province of Jambi. Caffeine was isolated from 25 grams of tea powder by fractionated and crystallized to obtained 102 mg of caffeine crystals. Caffeine crystals isolated as much as 50 mg was reacted with 32 mg of benzoic acid the result was 30 mg of caffeine benzoate. Caffeine benzoate was characterized which organoleptic form was fine powder, greenish-white color, bitter taste, and distinctive odor. Melting point was 196 oC. Infrared spectrum showed group O-H at wave number 2700-2500 cm-1, which it did not show on spectrum caffeine crystals. The maximum absorption wavelength was obtained 273.5 nm. Profile of thin-layer chromatography which stationary phase silika gel 60 F254 and mobile phase chloroform : ethanol (99:1) was obtained Rf value 0.35.
