Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of ability of students in speaking because at the time of the learning process teachers still use the lecture method. The results showed increased student activity and teacher activity. So, it can be concluded that learning ability to speak through the media drawing series in class III SDN. 14 Young Siguntur, can improve students' speaking ability.

Abstract

Based on observation in field students are less active learning history, they are lazy to do assignment, after getting out the class, sometimes even fall a sleep whily studying. Those have an imfact on their learning out comes which are not maximum or lower. The low comes student learning are caused by some factors, one of them is improperly choosing learning method, which tend to be monotonous and learning is dominated by teachers only. The aims of this research is to know, how far cooperative learning snowball throwing type can improve students learning activity in history lesson. The type of research is action class at XI IPS 3 class SMAN 1 Pasaman. The implementation consist of 2 cycles are planning, implementation, observation  and reflection. Techniques data analysis is carried out using the formale techniques proportion by Sudjana. Success indicators are determined by Ari kunto refence and studien`s negative activite is determined by slameto refrence. Result of the analysis first cycle and second cycle show students learning active ty has increased for all indicators that is actively discussing (good 56,1 %), responding questions (good 56,3%), questioning  based on material (good 68,7 %), cooperation on group (good 61,8%)  and taking conclusion (good 65%), while negative activites are decrease such as less aftention (good 6,5 %), distributing of friends (good 0,0%) and frequently ask permission (good 0,0%). Increasing student learning out comes is also good in the first cycle, averagevalue 76,3 (classical competences 68 %) and the second cycle average value 8,2 (classical   85%). There was increase 6,07 for student learning out comes and 17  percentage master learning classically. The result of the research learning model through Cooperative learning Snowball throwing type can increase student learning activities in history class at XI IPS3 student SMAN I  Pasaman. So this method can applied as aneffort to increase student learning activities, because there is no methods most superior from the existing method, each of them has weaknesses and advantages.

Abstract

Academic self-concept is the views, opinions or feelings about their academic abilities. Achievement motivation is encouragement for individuals to excel. This study is a descriptive correlational study aimed to describe the academic self-concept and achievement motivation of students and to test whether there is a relationship between academic self-concept and echievement motivation of students SMP N 1 VII Koto.subjects numbered 75 students taken high rank in his class. To see the connection techniques used in this study pearson product moment correlationthrough the statistical program SPSS for windows release 17.

Abstract

In fact, learning process in some schools still run with teacher centered condition. It caused students feeling bored and not participate actively. To create the active and enjoy learning process, one of solutions is by using media of picture. This study was conducted at 4th grade of SDN 26 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman.This study is a classroom action research with two cycles. Each of cycle consists of two meetings. Procedure of this research includes four steps, i.e. planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This study aimed to improve students’ learning achievement in social subject by implementing media of picture.Percentage of students’ learning achievement in cycle I is 67% and 81% for cycle II. Findings and analysis of data show that media of picture can improve students’ learning achievement in social subject.

Abstract

In general, the objective of learning English language in Malaysian education system is to ensure the students can use English in their daily basis, to further study and for the workplace. The main purpose of English course in Polytechnics is to ensure the students are able to communicate effectively and confidently. Therefore, the students should be able to understand the language and use it with confident in their daily lives and for their future employment. However, most of the students are reluctant to communicate in English and many of them prefer to withdraw from participating in any English language activities. The reason for this issue might be due to the feeling of anxiety in learning the second language. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the language proficiency differences between above average and below average students with respect to language learning anxiety. There were 96 semester three students from Civil Engineering Department, Politeknik Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin participated in this study. SPSS version 22 has been used to analyses collected data consists of a 33 item questionnaire of Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS).  The t-test has been used to determine if there was a significant difference between above average and below average students in regard of language learning anxiety. The study revealed that below average students were more anxious than above average students for all types of anxiety. However, t-test demonstrated that there was no significant difference between language learning anxiety in regard of students’ level of proficiency. Thus, several implications have been suggested in this study to help the below average students to cater language learning anxiety. One of the examples is by conducting an English Camp for the targeted students serves as an effective method to cope language learning anxiety among below average students.

Abstract

Learning at school was used to be dominated by teacher acting as informant. Learning used at school was also used to be conventional that let students felt no attraction and obtain the unsatistified learning achievement. This research was aimed to improve students’ learning achievement of Mathematics subject by using cooperative learning of Jigsaw. Subject of this research are the fifth grade students at SDN 19 V Koto Kampung Dalam Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. This class action research was held in two cycles. Data of research were obtained through observation and students’ test result. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Researcher set the percentage of learning achievement standard as 70%. Before the implementation, percentage of students’ learning achievement is 50,6%. After cycle I, percentage of students’ learning achievement is 69%. After cycle II, percentage of students’ learning achievement is improved and exceeds the standard, i.e. 80%. These show that implementation of cooperative learning of Jigsaw can improve students’ learning achievement of Mathematics subject.

Abstract

Adaptability is essential for the student, because influence friends and social environment determine its succes. The fact that found in Junior High School 1 Padang Panjang discovered a less harmonious relationship of students with one class in learning. The research aims to uncover how the adaptability of the students before and after the given information services. This research using the method of experiment with the types of the one group pretest-posttest design. Population research is grade VII in Junior Hihg School 1 Padang Panjang the length of 261 student with a total samples of 34 students. The data collected using  the  question  form.  Data  analysis  techniques  using  two  different  test average of samples that are related (paired sample t-tests) by using the help program Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 17.0. Research findings  show  there  is  a  difference  of  adaptability  of  students  Junior  Hihg School 1 Padang Panjng, before the give information services received an average score of 123,382. Adaptability of students after being given information services increased by average score of 127,735.

Abstract

Achievement motivation can encourage students to learn. In achieving success requires the support of parents. Poverty makes some parents from poor families have little time to guide the children. Consequently, parenting is not going well. This research aims to describe the relationship of  parenting and achievement motivation of students who come from poor families. This  research is quantitative descriptive with correlation metod. The population in this study are all students of SMP Negeri which in category BSM receiver in Padang. Total sample of 170 students, selected by cluster random sampling technique. Data was collected using Likert scale model measurements. Analysis of data using statistical techniques of correlation with the data collected in interval form Then analyzed using percentages. Testing the hypothesis by using the Pearson product moment correlation. The findings of this study are: (1) parenting students who come from poor families in Padang are in good enough category. (2) achievement motivation of students who come from poor families in Padang in low category. (3) There are significant positive relationship between parenting and achievement motivation of students who come from poor families. This result meant that better the care of the parents, the higher achievement motivation of student. Counselor in cooperation with school personnel and parents to encourage students increase achievement motivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kedisiplinan siswa kelas X Busana Butik 1 SMK Negeri Darul Ulum Muncar pada tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 dengan menggunakan pelayanan klasikal Small Group Discussion. Metode yang digunakan pada penilitian ini, yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Prosedur pada penelitian ini dirancang menjadi dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari: 1) perencanaan, 2) pelaksanaan tindakan, 3) observasi dan evaluasi, dan 4) refleksi. Hasil dari pelaksanaan siklus I dan siklus II menunjukan hasil yang baik dan memuaskan. Jumlah awal siswa yang disiplin sebanyak 57,5%. Setelah pelayanan siklus I siswa yang disiplin meningkat sebanyak 72,5%. Peningkatan secara signifikan terjadi pada pelayanan siklus II, siswa yang disiplin menjadi 95%.  Pelayanan klasikal small group Discussion dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa kelas X Busana Butik 1 SMK Negeri Darul ulum Muncar dalam mengumpulkan tugas produktif secara tepat waktu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan aktivitas peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPA, sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajarnya.Peningkatan aktivitas belajar peserta didik dilakukan melalui penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual (Contextual Teaching and  Learning), yang sering dikenaldengan CTL. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan  dalam dua siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat pertemuan, dengan rincian; pertemuan pertama, kedua dan ketiga adalah proses pembelajaran sedangkan pertemuan keempat tes akhir (evaluasi hasil belajar). Untuk mengamati aktivitas peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran, peneliti dibantu oleh seorang guru yang berperan sebagai observer/kolaborator. Observer dilengkapi dengan format aktivitas peserta didik dan lembaran khusus/catatan lapangan. Lembaran catatan lapangan berguna untuk mencatat perilaku-perilaku peserta didik yang tidak termuat dalam format aktivitas, tertutama aktivitas negatif dan kendala-kendala yang ditemuai selama proses pembelajaran. Hal ini bertujuan untuk perbaikan perencanaan maupun tindakan pada siklus II. Setelah siklus I selesai maka data dianalisis dan direfleksi. Hasil refleksi siklus I berguna untuk perbaikan pada siklus II.Data tentang aktivitas peserta didik disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Berdasarkan grafik terlihat akan terlihat ada tidaknya peningkatan aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Dari data tes akhir siklus I diperoleh nilai rata-rata peserta didik kelas VIIA 72,0 (tujuh dua koma nol) dan pada siklus II diperoleh nilai rata-rata 74,5 (tujuh dempat koma lima), ini berarti terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media sederhana melalui pembelajaran kontekstual dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik.
