Abstract

The quality of education is increasing along with technological developments, one of which is nursing education which is experiencing rapid changes. Nursing students must have the ability to think critically to integrate various sources of knowledge in order to solve problems creatively and logically. Nursing education requires learning methods that enable students to actively address various nursing problems that arise in clinical practice. Flipped learning or reverse learning is a learning model that requires lecturers to transfer lectures directly from the classroom to individual study rooms (at home) with the help of technology. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of applying the flipped learning method to the critical thinking skills of nursing students. Type of quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group pre-test post-test approach. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling, namely all students in class A and B in the third semester of the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program. This research started from the preparation stage by preparing flipped learning model materials in the form of modules, power points and videos as well as preparing instruments on the Critical Thinking Disposition Self-Rating Form (CTDSRF) to measure critical thinking skills. Data analysis used paired t-test and t-test for independent groups to determine the effectiveness of the flipped learning method on critical thinking skills of nursing students. The results of both the intervention and control group studies were 0.001 ˂ 0.05, which means that the application of the flipped learning method was able to improve critical thinking skills. Flipped learning is more effective in improving the critical thinking skills of nursing students compared to conventional learning, where the lecturer makes materials in the form of narratives, power points and videos. Flipped Learning is one of the selected learning models as a feasible learning model to apply.

Abstract

Elderly is a phase of decreased intellectual and physical abilities, which begins with several changes in life, a period when the organism has reached maturity in size and function and has also shown decline over time. Independence is freedom to act, not dependent to other people, not affected by other people and free to regulate oneself or one's activities both individually and in groups from various health or disease. Independent is also said to care for oneself and can carry out activities of daily life (AKS). ACC is divided into 2, namely: standard ACC and instrumental ACC. Standard AKS includes self-care skills such as eating, dressing, defecating/urinating, and bathing. Meanwhile, instrumental AKS includes complex activities such as cooking, washing, using the telephone, and using money. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of activity independence of the elderly at UPT. Binjai Elderly Social Service. Which includes activities of daily life in the elderly, the method used is a type of "descriptive qualitative" which describes the actual situation with a sample of 31 people by means of sampling "total sampling", namely determining the sample by taking the entire population. The results of this observation indicate that the majority of elderly who are independent are (61.01%), and dependent elderly are as much as (38.98%).

Abstract

The relationship between organizational ergonomics and performance, namely the organization as a place for employees to carry out work activities can be a pusher or a puller for employees to carry out a task and even become an inhibiting factor for employees to show performance so that it can affect quality and improve performance. This study aims to analyze organizational ergonomics on employee performance at the Community Health Center of Kenali Besar, Jambi City. This type of research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional research design. The research population was all Community Health Center employees, totaling 41 people who were also used as research samples. Statistical analysis used the chi square or fisher's exact test and logistic regression at the 95% confidence level (p<0.05). The results showed that there was a relationship between communication (p = 0.034), and organizational culture (p = 0.012) with the performance of the Community Health Center of Kenali Besar in Jambi City, while the teamwork variable was not related to employee performance (p = 1.000). The conclusion in this study is that communication and organizational culture have a significant relationship with the performance of the employees at Community Health Center of Kenali Besar, but teamwork has no significant relationship with employee performance. The most dominant variable related to employee performance is organizational culture with a value of B (2.251). The Community Health Center further improves the organizational culture of employees such as always creating innovative ideas at work, dissatisfied with one task so that they are challenged with the next task, work is carried out flexibly, responsively and quickly changes, and the organization must have a clear agreement on the procedures for carrying out the assigned tasks. right and wrong

Abstract

Breast cancer is a malignancy of breast tissue that may arise from the epithelium of the ducts or lobules. Preventive measures by carrying out early detection by self-examination of the breast (BSE) can help find symptoms of breast cancer at an early stage so that the treatment given has high success. Street children are teenagers who are on the streets every day to get a source of life such as food, clothing and other living expenses. These adolescents are also susceptible to breast cancer if they are not given early education about breast cancer prevention. The objectives of this activity are (1) to form youth reproductive health cadres whose function is to educate and train their peers about BSE, (2) increase the knowledge and skills of street children about BSE, (3) early detection of breast cancer in street children (4) there is an immediate solution if there are adolescents who have detected symptoms of breast cancer. The activity was carried out in March 2023 at the Medan Maimun Lurah office. The research design was a quasi-experiment, the sample technique was the total sample, the number of samples was 42 people and the data analysis was the dependent t test. Health education is carried out 3 times a week with a duration of 1 hour. The material presented includes breast cancer (definition, causes, early detection, treatment and complications) and BSE (definition, purpose, benefits, tools and procedures); BSE examination training is carried out 5 times a week for 1 hour. The characteristics of the street children who participated in the activity showed that the majority of the youth were aged 16-20 years (90.47%), high school education (88.09%), Islam (90.47%) and Javanese (59.53%). The results of statistical tests on the effect of BSE training on knowledge obtained a value of P = 0.001 (<0.05) so it can be concluded that there was an effect of BSE training on adolescent knowledge, on attitudes obtained by a value of P = 0.001 (<0.05) so it can be concluded that there was an effect of BSE training on adolescent attitudes, to action obtained P value = 0.001 (< 0.05) so it can be concluded that there is an effect of BSE training on adolescent actions. This activity is proven to be able to increase the knowledge, attitudes and actions of adolescents towards BSE. Therefore it is hoped that the heads of KOPA and PUSKESMAS will carry out routine activities by empowering adolescents who have been trained.

Abstract

The use of chemical fertilizers (pesticides) is one of the biggest occupational health threats facing by farmer workers, especially women. Improper use of pesticides can have a negative impact on poisoning users. The lack of awareness about the negative effects of chronic diseases caused by exposure to pesticides, lack of information about the risks of using pesticides, resulting in pesticides being often used irresponsibly and inappropriately, both the dosage and practice of using them are inappropriate and unsafe and farmers often do not wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when using pesticides. This community service aims to improve the health quality of the women farmers in the Semangat village through the implementation of "MEGERMET" behaviours and first aid training for acute pesticide poisoning. The methods used are conducting socialization, health checks, health education about pesticides and their impact on health, procedures to use pesticides correctly through "MEGERMET" behavior, demonstrations how to use personal protective clothing  and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as first aid training on acute pesticide poisoning especially for women who are members of a farmer community in Semangat village. The results of this community service activity shows that there is an increase in the knowledge among women farmers in how to use pesticide safely and properly by 80%, the women farmers at Semangat village are able to implement "MEGERMET" behaviour as a procedure for using pesticides wisely and 80% of women at Semangat village are able to provide first aid for acute pesticide poisoning. Forming an occupational health forum (“Pos UKK”) is believe to be able to continue encouraging women farmer behaviour at Semangat village to improve health and reducing the risk of using pesticides.
