Abstract

The Community Service Activities carried out by PKM team of Accounting Department, FEB Universitas Brawijaya aims to improve tax understanding and compliance. The implementation of PKM activities is carried out at Tour & Travel companies. Through intensive mentoring, the PKM team has succeeded in providing an in-depth understanding of tax regulations relevant to the travel business, including VAT, Income Tax Articles 21, 22, and 23. In addition, the PKM team also provides recommendations regarding the potential for implementing Income Tax Articles 25 and 29 to optimize the company's financial management. The results of this activity show that collaboration between academics and practitioners can make a significant contribution to improving the quality of human resources in the field of taxation and supporting business growth in the tourism sector.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mendorong perubahan dalam sistem pembayaran dari tunai ke non-tunai, termasuk di kalangan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Salah satu inovasi yang mendukung transformasi ini adalah Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), yang memungkinkan transaksi digital lebih efisien dan inklusif. Universitas Mercu Buana menyelenggarakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertajuk “Implementasi QRIS Bagi UMKM Kota Tangerang” pada 28 April 2025 di Dinas Perindustrian, Perdagangan, Koperasi, dan UMKM Kota Tangerang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman UMKM tentang manfaat, kemudahan, keamanan, serta risiko penggunaan QRIS melalui aplikasi Livin’ by Mandiri. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, presentasi edukatif, simulasi praktik langsung, dan diskusi interaktif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa persepsi manfaat, kemudahan penggunaan, dan kepercayaan menjadi faktor utama yang mendorong adopsi QRIS oleh UMKM.

Abstract

Desa Pulo ampel, berada di pesisir utara Pulau Jawa di Kecamatan Pulo ampel. Berdasarkan geografis berada di bagian timur, terbentang dari utara ke selatan ± 3 Km. Masyarakat sebagian besar menjadi nelayan, memiliki perahu ikan diantaranya 33 unit berkapasitas 3 Gross Tonnage (GT). Jumlah nelayan 215, Perahu ikan kapasitas 3 GT beroperasi dari malam hingga pagi hari menggunakan penerangan dari sumber baterai, baterai sering mengalami kerusakan karena buka pasang untuk charge di kota dengan harga mahal. Keberadaan nelayan di areal fishing ground menjadi cemas keluarga terutama saat cuaca buruk. Hal ini mengganggu pengoperasian perahu ikan sehingga berdampak menurunya produksi dan pemasaran hasil tangkapan ikan. Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat adalah memanfaatkan energi panel surya untuk penerangan pada perahu ikan 3 GT dan marine locator untuk menegtahui posisi nelayan di areal fishing ground. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan, pelatihan, pendampingan perawatan dan evaluasi kinerja panel surya dan marine locator dengan melibatkan mitra nelayan agar kedepan dapat melakukan pemasangan dan perawatan secara mandiri. Hasil kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat diharapkan dapat memberikan kelancaran dan keselamatan dalam pengoperasian mencari ikan, sehingga produksi dan pemasaran hasil tangkapan ikan meningkat dari 7 s/d 12 kg/hari menjadi 10 s/d 15 kg/hari guna peningkatan ekonomi dan kesejahteraan mitra nelayan.

Abstract

Strengthening moral values in elementary school-aged children is a crucial aspect in fostering social responsibility from an early age. However, amidst the digital age and the decline of face-to-face interaction, the practice of saying "sorry," "please," and "thank you" is beginning to be marginalized. This community service activity aims to instill basic values of good manners as a foundation for social responsibility through the educational board game Moral Adventure. This activity was carried out with fourth-grade students of SDN Tenggilis Mejoyo 1 Surabaya using a participatory-educational approach. Through a series of activities such as socialization, game guidance, and reflection sessions, children were encouraged to understand and practice moral values in situations that resemble real life. The implementation results showed an increase in students' understanding of the importance of mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration among peers. In addition to being a fun learning tool, the Moral Adventure board game also strengthens the school's role as a partner in instilling civic values and building a culture of good manners in elementary education environments.

Abstract

Asung Kamulyan Farmer Group is one of the farmer groups in Sidomulyo Village, Mantup District, Lamongan Regency. Rice harvesting in Sidomulyo Village is done traditionally using a sickle and then threshed using a threshing machine to separate the rice grains from the rice stalks which produces waste called straw. Problems in the production aspect, partners experience difficulties during harvesting activities because the number of available harvesters decreases. The method used is the action research method, namely taking action based on the results of observations and discussions with partners. The results of this activity, from the production aspect, there is an ergonomic rice harvesting machine used by the community which can increase harvesting productivity from 2 m²/minute to 10 m²/minute or an increase of 5 times. In addition, there is an SOP for operation, maintenance, and resolution of other obstacles (troubleshot) as material that can be used to ensure that the use of the technology provided continues to provide benefits. In addition, partners can arrange the rental schedule for ergonomic harvesting machines and their financial management, so that farmer groups have other sources of income from renting and maintaining harvesting machines

Abstract

Waste cooking oil poses environmental and health risks if improperly managed. This community service study aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of residents in Dayurejo Village, Prigen, in safe and environmentally friendly waste cooking oil management through a socialization program involving the Pemda 9 youth group. Methods included interactive lectures, practical demonstrations of converting waste oil into useful products, and discussion sessions. Pre- and post-activity questionnaires assessed changes in participants’ knowledge and skills. Results showed significant improvements: awareness of waste oil hazards increased from 40% to 90%, knowledge of safe handling from 20% to 85%, and ability to identify environmental impacts from 35% to 88%. Interactive and hands-on approaches effectively promoted awareness and active participation. Regular implementation of similar programs is recommended to support a cleaner, healthier, and more productive environment.

Abstract

Informasi menjadi suatu hal yang dibutuhkan seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Salah satu sumber informasi tersebut adalah situs berita daring yang berisi artikel berita dengan topik yang berbeda. Dengan banyaknya jumlah artikel berita dengan berbagai macam topik maka proses pengelompokan tersebut menjadi sulit dilakukan dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan sistem yang dapat mengelompokkan artikel berita secara otomatis agar proses pengelompokkan lebih mudah dan cepat. Ekstraksi fitur situs berita online bertujuan mengelempokkan artikel berita secara otomatis dan mendapatkan artikel yang populer dalam jangka waktu tertentu. Kegiatan dari program pengabdian ini akan mengembangkan sebuah rancangan fitur sistem kaleidoskop berita secara otomatis. Artikel berita yang didapatkan dari situs berita kemudian akan dikelompokkan sesuai dengan topik beritanya masing-masing. Jumlah topik berita yang paling banyak akan terpilih pada kaleidoskop berita. Kaleidoskop sebagai suatu rangkuman dari aneka peristiwa yang telah terjadi baik dalam bentuk artikel maupun video, yang biasa diterbitkan di tiap periode yang ditentukan. Kaleidoskop juga dapat menjadi sarana untuk memberikan gambaran tentang program apa saja yang telah berjalan, serta target apa saja yang telah dicapai.

Abstract

The implementation of the Coretax Administration System starting on January 1, 2025, is part of a major reform in Indonesia’s tax administration system. This system aims to improve efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, and accuracy in the tax reporting and payment process through automation and data integration. Referring to Minister of Finance Regulation Number 81 of 2024, Coretax becomes a new system that must be understood by all taxpayers, including social foundations such as Jujur Ministry under the auspices of Yayasan Terobosan Baru Indonesia. To support this transition, lecturers and students from the Accounting Study Program at Maranatha Christian University conducted a community service activity in the form of a one-day seminar that included a Coretax usage socialization session followed by a Q&A segment. This activity aimed to provide practical education on the procedures for using Coretax, such as tax ID (NPWP) registration, account creation, as well as the steps for tax withholding and reporting. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ understanding of tax obligations and the Coretax system. It is concluded that collaboration between academics and the community plays a vital role in supporting the optimal implementation of the new tax system.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest disaster vulnerability in the world due to its geographical, geological, and tropical climatic conditions. Kalibogor Village, Sukorejo Sub-district, Kendal Regency, is an area with potential natural disasters (landslides, drought) as well as non-natural hazards (traffic accidents and pest attacks). These conditions demand systematic efforts to improve community preparedness and resilience. The purpose of this program is to establish a Disaster Resilient Village (DESTANA) as a platform to strengthen community capacity through a participatory approach. The method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques including participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The activities covered village resilience assessment (PKD), administrative and disaster risk mapping, evacuation route mapping, disaster management planning, establishment of Disaster Risk Reduction Forums (FPRB) and volunteers, as well as training for MSMEs on financial digitalization. The results show an increase in the village resilience score from 126.39 at the beginning to 129.39 at the end of the program, indicating improvements in knowledge, preparedness, and community participation. The program also succeeded in encouraging the formation of institutions and more structured disaster mitigation mechanisms. Thus, DESTANA in Kalibogor Village has provided tangible impacts in strengthening preparedness, fostering self-reliance, and supporting sustainable rural development.

Abstract

In the business world, competition between companies is natural. Each company strives to offer its own unique product offerings. In addition to competing on quality, they also compete on price, as only the highest-quality and lowest-priced products are most sought after and sought after by consumers. Education level, business training, and previous managerial experience can also influence the accounting information reflected in accounting records. Therefore, a lack of education or business management training can make it difficult for entrepreneurs to advance their businesses due to a lack of accurate financial information, leading to ineffective and uncontrolled decision-making. Considering the fact that many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the surrounding area are incapable of managing their finances, we were motivated to provide training on calculating COGS and determining selling prices, which can serve as additional knowledge for MSME entrepreneurs. Our community service activities demonstrate Mercubuana University's commitment to the surrounding environment. This is a manifestation of Mercubuana University's efforts to benefit the surrounding community, known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This community service activity has successfully provided counseling, training, and practical training on calculating the cost of goods manufactured to target partners. The knowledge transfer, covering technological aspects, calculation processes, and preparing simple financial reports, was effective and understood by the participants. Overall, this activity went smoothly and is expected to contribute to improving the economy of the residents of North Kembangan Village.
