Abstract

The need for land to build houses in densely populated cities is increasingly limited and has very high prices, so many people build houses by maximizing the use of land area, but still upholding the aesthetics and comfort. To realize this, one way is to apply the open plan concept in house design. The purpose of this article is to prove that the open-plan concept can emphasize the area of ​​​​a minimalist house and can also have a good circulation of activities, without worrying about a small area. Through this article, the author will provide a description of residential houses that have applied the open plan concept using qualitative methods through a case study approach. This study will also discuss the advantages and disadvantages that are adapted to the function of the house accordance with existing research.

Abstract

For some students, the library was chosen because it has various types of reading and the many facilities provided, one of which is sitting facilities. When reading, sitting position affects the comfort in reading. Therefore, the variety of seating facilities provided is important to know the various designs of the seating facilities to suit student preferences, especially in the public library which is a place to read or do assignments. This study uses a quantitative method with an exploratory approach by collecting data from the literature review and comparing the data from the questionnaire to draw conclusions. Physical comfort is the main thing that needs to be in every sitting facility by paying attention to the impact of its use on body posture or back area, especially when the sitting facility will be used for a long time. Bean bags and conventional chairs are the most widely chosen because of their comfort and good in preventing back and neck pain and maintaining a comfortable body position. The selection of types and types of seating facilities affects the comfort of visitors for each type of activity.

Abstract

Rekreasi dibutuhkan oleh semua orang untuk menghilangkan stres yang mereka miliki. Salah satu jenis rekreasi adalah dengan mengenal alam lebih dekat, seperti kegiatan mendaki gunung. Toko perlengkapan outdoor saat ini banyak menjamur. Konsumen dapat berkunjung ke toko dan membeli berbagai macam produk mendaki gunung yang dijual sesuai kondisi ekonomi mereka. Umumnya toko perlengkapan outdoor berlokasi di sebuah mall di mana area sewa terbatas. Hal penting yang dibutuhkan pihak toko, yaitu adanya mebel yang multifungsi. Pada tahap inilah desainer akan berlomba-lomba mengatasi masalah tersebut dan memberikan beberapa alternatif bentuk usulan atas mebel display. Desainer tentunya akan menciptakan suatu display yang tidak hanya berguna untuk memajang produk yang dijual, tetapi juga dapat menjadi area penyimpanan dari produk itu. Artikel ini akan berisikan paparan selama meneliti berbagai bentuk alternatif yang diusulkan oleh desainer. Data akan dianalisis dengan sumber yang berasal dari survei lapangan, pengumpulan data literatur, serta wawancara. Hasil penelitian juga diharapkan dapat memberikan saran/rekomendasi atas bentuk desain mebel display multifungsi, sehingga bentuknya di masa datang akan lebih baik lagi, khususnya untuk toko perlengkapan outdoor.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki sebuah periode di mana gaya-gaya arsitektur yang unik dari negeri-negeri Eropa datang membanjiri. Diawali dengan Empire Stijl di sekitar pergantian abad 20 hingga merebaknya Art Deco di 1930an pra Perang Dunia II, arsitektur Amsterdam School berada di antaranya dan dikatakan sebagai pembuka jalan bagi art deco yang jauh lebih populer. Artikel ini akan membahas mengenai bagaimana arsitektur unik Amsterdam School ini mewujud dalam karya besar Arsitek RLA Schoemaker –Villa Merah- utamanya pada bagian perwajahannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Survai Arsitektural yang pada gilirannya diharapkan dapat menghasilkan pengkajian fasade, yang langsung bisa dikembangkan kearah pendayagunaan elemen gubahan massa lainnya. Diharapkan dengan adanya penelitian ini, arsitektur Amsterdam School dapat lebih dipahami, diapresiasi dan dipelajari untuk diterapkan di pekerjaan arsitektural lainnya sebagai jawaban atas monotonnya desain bangunan fungsi sejenis akhir-akhir ini.

Abstract

Aroma Ball Interior display design at Rumah Atsiri Indonesia is one of the most important parts that has become a medium of reciprocal action between visitors and the objects on display. Rumah Atsiri Indonesia is an edu-recreational place for various essential plant fragrances. This essential plant is processed into essential oils that can later be enjoyed by various societies. At Rumah Atsiri Indonesia, there is a museum tour agenda. At the museum there is a unique room where a display shaped like water balls. The room is called the Aroma Ball Room. Aroma Ball Room stores and releases some extraordinary aromas of various types of essential oils. Visitors are spoiled with a sensory experience of smell through aroma cruising. The shape of the alleged scent ball display can counterbalance the outside air with the aroma centered on the aroma ball display. One of the showrooms is located in Karanganyar Jawa Tengan by offering its visitors to relieve stress through essential oil plants. This research uses a method of literature study research or literature study that involves theories applicable to these research problems with literature data in the Aroma Ball Room of Rumah Atsiri Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is based on the author's anxiety about the behavior of indonesian people towards the use of single-use plastics to eventually cause a buildup of plastic waste. Damage to natural disasters often occurs due to the buildup of plastic waste, until finally the public realizes the importance of environmentally friendly education and recycling from an early age. Educating the community, especially children, about environmental friendliness can be started through adequate educational facilities. In this context, this study took the example of the design of The Bima Microlibrary located on Jalan Bima Utara Bandung City. Microlibrary Bima is a means of education in residential areas that is one of the alternatives to improve the quality of education, especially for children, who apply the use of environmentally friendly materials on the façade of buildings. Although during this pandemic Microlibrary Bima is not operating, it does not make it an obstacle that Microlibrary Bima is an interesting building to discuss. The type of research conducted is qualitative with descriptive analysis research methods. This paper provides an explanation of the importance of applying environmentally friendly materials in creating educational facilities as a real example for children to learn environmentally friendly concepts. The results of the analysis concluded that the design of Bima Microlibrary as an educational tool that applies environmentally friendly materials can be a real example for children to learn and realize the benefits of the importance of learning environmentally friendly concepts and contribute to developing the character of children who care about the environment. Abstract

​​ Chinese cultural acculturation happens in several cities in Indonesia through archipelago trade flow. Chinese culture spread into several aspects, starting from language, arts, foods, fashion, religion, and also architecture. House and pagoda were a building that mostly applied Chinese Architecture that have a lot of ornament decorations with their special color in it. Geometry, animal pattern, flower pattern, nature pattern,and legend are the most used ornament decorations it also has a certain meaning, it depends on Chinese belief. One of the remaining buildings that applied Chinese Architecture in Jakarta was Candra Naya. Candra Naya was a house on Chinese Major that has had restoration anis d now used as a cultural heritage building. The site of Candra Naya is less known by the local people, so the existing wealth of the building was known internally only. This research was conducted to find out the ornament decorations influence and acculturation of Chicultureturas identity on Candra Naya. This research method uses visual analysis with a qualitative approach. By collecting data from literatures, observation , and interview with Candra Naya’s caretaker. Results of the research show that ornaments decoration of Chinese architecture influence the Candra Naya building as its identity and can be a new source the for the reservation of cultural heritage in Indonesia. Abstract

The existing limited space as a result of high demand for current development needs is not in line with the design of facilities that can adapt to these conditions. One of them is footwear storage facilities, the current condition of shoe racks generally takes up a lot of space or space and the varying sizes make storage ineffective and efficient which leads to user discomfort. For this reason, it is necessary to design a shoe rack with a modular concept that can adjust so as to reduce the use of excess furniture. A modular shoe rack is a tool that functions as an organizer for storing footwear in an area or building effectively and efficiently. With modular features, this storage area can be easily disassembled for configuration needs and sizes to easily adjust to their needs. The research approach uses qualitative methods based on field findings by analyzing space production, starting with direct observations and interviews with users in limited housing as initial data and formulating problems, then developing based on literature related to functions as a design needs analysis. The result of the design is a shoe rack with a modular system that emphasizes the function aspect to match the needs of storage facilities in a limited space to make it easier for users in terms of storage, arrangement, and retrieval so that activities can run more effectively and efficiently. This design is also expected to be a reference for designs with similar designs and themes in order to increase the users effectiveness and spaces efficiency.

Abstract

The application of eclectic style to the furniture in the Batik Keris Solo’s cafe and restaurant is one way to form interior atmosphere of the room. The formation of interior atmosphere is adjusted to the heritage building styling in the city of Solo. This Batik Keris’s cafe and restaurant building has been planned using eclectic styling touch that mixes several styles into the space. To form the atmosphere of the space, it is necessary to arrange various interior elements, one of them is furniture, which is considered to be able to provide a visual appearance of the interior of the space in accordance with the main stylistic concept. In this study, the research team tried to focus the analysis on furniture objects that were applied to the interior of heritage buildings as the formation of a space atmosphere. This research was conducted by applying a descriptive qualitative method by conducting studies and direct analysis on furniture objects that were applied as interior elements at Café Batik Keris Solo. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of color to the Internet café Fushion Rise, in Jatinangor, Sumedang regency. where the explosion of the online gaming industry in the world, especially multiplayer online games, has a significant impact on the proliferation of internet cafés in Indonesia, internet cafés that were initially only public facilities to get internet access, transformed into internet café, which in addition to offering higher internet speeds, better hardware specifications, and also obliged to provide comfort and a good gaming atmosphere. Therefore, internet café requires interior color design that can achieve the goal of a good gaming experience and comfort, so that internet café visitors can feel at home in playing in the internet café Fushion Rise. The gaming atmosphere can be formed from the perception aspect of gamers psychology and socio-cultural aspects of gamers. Both aspects can influence each other and create an atmosphere and experience of play. This research focuses on analyzing the application of color to the interior of icafe Fushion Rise according to the theme and concept of internet café interior design. This study will find the relationship of the colors contained in the elements that make up the space and the application of the color in the room. The research method used in this research is a quantitative research method with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection techniques through surveys to internet café visitors and also discussions. The results of the data analysis, it was obtained that the application of color to the elements forming the interior space in the internet café can convey the atmosphere and affect the playing experience.
