Abstract

The museum is a building that accommodates visitors to exchange knowledge, education, arts and culture. Along with the development of knowledge and technology, museums in Indonesia are trying to adapt more efficiently and increase engagement with visitors. Some forms of museum adaptation are by creating methods that involve technology to make the visitor experience more interactive. Given the unprecedented pandemic, conventional museums must adapt quickly to create solutions that will have an impact on how museums will be created and designed post-pandemic. As one example, the Covid-19 pandemic has formed new habits in society, such as the call to diligently wash hands and social distancing. The purpose of this research is to find out the adaptation efforts of conventional museum interiors in Java in dealing with pandemics and post-pandemic. The method used in this research is a case study with a descriptive qualitative approach. Several museums in Java Island were selected as museum case studies and discussed regarding the implementation of diffusion theory in the interior of the museum. The result of this research is the formulation of the adaptation of museum interiors on the island of Java in dealing with pandemics and post-pandemic. The formulation is expected to increase knowledge and become a reference for interior designers in efforts to rejuvenating conventional museum interiors.

Simulation methods is the main strategy of this research which is supported by literature review method. Concluded that choosing multiplex as main material is highly supporting the sustainable development because of its raw materials, manufacturing, until design phase concern. By utilizing this kind of materials, it was found that there is some design of dimension of certain furniture’s components that are considered efficient enough to be applied.

Abstract

Since 2010, the city of Bandung has undergone a strong growth spurt due to the expansion of cafes from the city center to the city's outskirts. The café is an alternate location for social contact among family members, friends, or professionals. To attract visitors, the cafe management must consider the ambient interior, which strives to provide visitor comfort by paying attention to lighting, interior design, music sound, and temperature as a preference for the purpose of selecting the cafe. The limitation of this research is that it is limited to green open spaces, whereas the goal is to find a correlation between batik patterns, which are used as supporting aesthetic elements, and the need for interior ambience that is unique, aesthetic, and provides a sense of comfort, which will have an impact on increasing visitor traffic or making them return the next time. The analytical descriptive and ethnographic methods were applied in this study. The findings of this study demonstrate that partnership between the batik showroom and the Pecah Kopi Bandung cafe can give benefits and value to both. This study's objective is to present real-world ideas and examples in the management of cafés that use green open spaces and can interact with managers in the arts and crafts industry to provide a sense of comfort and aesthetic value to their environment.

Abstract

One major objective of the green design philosophy that many homes have embraced these days is lessening the effects of global warming. This is due to the fact that architecture is one of the main causes of global warming. A global quarantine involving severe limitations on human movement was implemented in 2021 because to the COVID-19 pandemic, and homes were turned into places where people may engage in a variety of activities throughout the clock. This is due to the COVID-19 virus, which is indiscriminate in its transmission and dangerous to human life, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. In the ongoing pandemic, significant efforts have been made to halt the COVID-19 virus's spread. Benefits of green design have been found to extend beyond reduced energy use and global warming. In particular, it mitigates the COVID-19 virus's effects on housing, which is one method it prevents the virus from propagating. Through a number of journal reviews and prior research studies, this qualitative study examines the relationship between green design principles and human health and how to implement them in housing. Simple green design implementations in residential buildings are expected to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic's effects, particularly with regard to the health of the occupants.
