Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays L. saccharata) is an agricultural commodity that is very popular with Indonesians, because it tastes sweet and contains high carbohydrates. The need for this commodity continues to increase, but the need for this commodity is not matched by the production produced by farmers. Efforts are needed to increase sweet corn production, one of which is the assembly of superior varieties through plant breeding programs using gamma ray mutation techniques. This study aims to obtain the sweet corn lines with the best morphological appearance in the M3 generation. This experiment was carried out from August to October 2020. The research method used was an experimental method and the design used was a stump factor randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 37 sweet corn lines resulting from gamma ray mutations G1M0, G1M1, G1M3, G2M0, G2M1. , G2M2, G2M3, G3M0, G3M1, G3M2, G3M3, G4M0, G4M1, G4M3, G5M0, G5M1, G5M3, G6M0, G6M1, G6M2, G7M0, G7M1, G7M2, G1M08, G7M2, G1M08, G8M2 , G9M2, G9M3, G9M4, G10M0, G10M1, G10M2, G10M3 and 2 comparator varieties Excotic Pertiwi, and Bonanza F1. Each treatment was repeated 2 times in order to obtain 78 experimental units. The treatment effect was analyzed by analysis of diversity (ANOVA) and if the F test at 5% level is significant, it is necessary to carry out further DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at the 5% level to determine the best treatment. Based on the results of the study, there was the best treatment on several M3 generation mutant sweet corn lines in the G1M1 line showing the best average yield on plant height of 192,24 cm, 50% flowering age of 39,50 days, the number of cobs planted of 1,50 pieces. , and ear weight per plot of 2,32 kg. Meanwhile, the G10M1 genothype showed the best average yield on the number of leaves of 12,90 sheet. Keywords: genothype, sweet corn, qualitative and quantitative characters.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP), South Jakarta. Potential yield of flower cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Botrytis L.) in Indonesia has decreased, this can be achieved by using a combination of inorganic fertilizers and organic fertilizers to increase the growth and yield of flower cabbage as well as maintain soil health. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a combination of vermicompost and NPK fertilizers on the growth and yield of flower cabbage. This study used a single factor randomized block design (RBD) with 12 treatments of combination doses of vermicompost and NPK fertilizers, repeated 3 times. The treatments consisted of a combination of vermicompost fertilizer (160 g, 320 g, 480 g and 640 g) combined with NPK fertilizer (12.8 g, 10.2 g and 7.7 g). The results were analyzed using the F test at the 5% level to determine the best treatment, followed by the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the application of vermicompost fertilizer combined with NPK increased plant height, leaf number, and pH, head weight, crop diameter and stover weight. Treatment J with a combination of vermicompost dosage of 640 g and NPK fertilizer 12.8 g obtained the highest yield on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, weight of head, diameter of crop and weight of cabbage flower stalk. The results achieved from this study were the dosage treatment of vermicompost and NPK fertilizers had a significant effect on the growth and yield of flower cabbage. Abstract

The plastic problem had become a global problem, which until now there was no right solution to solve it. The agricultural sector in plant cultivation activities from upstream to downstream was quite a lot of plastic waste produced, one of which was the massive use of plastic mulch in horticultural cultivation. Therefore it is necessary to develop the use of mulch with natural materials that are more environmentally friendly. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of mulch based on straw and rice husks on the growth and yield of paria Lipa F1 varieties in Pakisjaya, Karawang. The research was conducted in Telukbuyung Village, Pakisjaya District, Karawang Regency for 3 months from August to November 2020. This study used an experimental method with a Randomized Block Design (RBD) as the environmental design. The treatment given was giving mulch to the cultivation of pariah plants which consisted of 4 levels of treatment (A. Control / No Mulch, B. Black Silver Plastic Mulch, C. Rice Straw Organic Mulch Carpet, D. Organic Rice Husk Mulch Carpet) and repeated as many as 6 times so that there are 24 Trial Units. The results showed that the application of various mulching showed a significant effect on the growth and yield of bitter melon variety of Lipa F1 in Pakisjaya, Karawang. Silver black plastic mulch had the highest average value on observed parameters among other treatments, but the use of organic mulch carpet made from straw and rice husk had the potential as an alternative in mulching in horticultural cultivation.

Abstract

Identifikasi morfologi merupakan salah satu identifikasi yang paling mudah dan cepat, dalam mengetahui tingkat kekerabatan antar kutivar padi lokal. Semakin banyak persamaan ciri/karakter yang dimiliki maka semakin dekat hubungan kekerabatan, sebaliknya semakin banyak perbedaan yang dimiliki maka semakin jauh kekerabatannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman padi local yang ada di Kalimantan Utara untuk dikembangan sebagai pemuliaan tanaman, untuk mengetahui hubungan kekerabatan antar kultivar padi lokal berdasarkan karakterisasi gabah dan morfologi. Penelitian dilakukan dua tahap yaitu tahap pertama dilakukan metode survey yaitu melakukan identifikasi morfologi secara langsung dilapangan, tahap ke dua menganalisis data deskriptif diubah kedalam data biner program SPSS 21 dengan melakukan pengelompokan (cluster) berdasarkan tingkat kemiripan. Hasil Penelitian yang telah dilakukan dari 85 kultivar padi lokal Berdasarkan analisis morfologi tanaman dan karakter gabah membentuk 4 cluster yaitu cluster I terdapat 62 kultivar, cluster II ada 18 kultivar, cluster III terdapat 4 kultivar dan cluster IV ada 1 kultivar, dengan tingkat kemiripan berkisar antara 0,1 hingga 0,90 %.

Abstract

This study aims to know minimum number of a combination on farm man-days and fertilizer dosage used to rice (Oryza Sativa.L) grain yield on Large Scale Social Distancing (LSCD) period implemented caused by Covid-19 pandemic in Karawang Regency the research was conducted in Majalaya village, Karawang Regency from August to December 2020. An experimental method had been carried out based on a randomized block design which consisted of three number on farm man-days used combined by three dosage of fertilizer treatments, i.e., T1 (number man-days 100%+ dosage fertilizers 100%), T2 (number man-days 100% + dosage fertilizers 80%), T3 (number man-days 100%+ dosage fertilizers 60%), T4 (number man-days 80%+ dosage fertilizers 100%), T5 (number man-days 80%+ dosage fertilizers 80%), T6 (number man-days 80%+ dosage fertilizers 60%), T7 (number man-days 60%+ dosage fertilizers 100%), T8 (number man-days 60%+ dosage fertilizers 80%), T9 (number man-days 60%+ dosage fertilizers 60%). There were 3 times replication. Observed variable was rice grain yield (tons/hectare). Results indicated that the aplication at T1 to T9 significantly different to almost all obeserved variable and application at T1 (5.85 tons/hectare) was the best, but it was not significant to T4 (5.80tons/hectare). Suggestion for rice farmers in around of Karawang Regency, that rice farming feasibles on New Normal Adaptation Period by minimum number on farm man-days used must be more than 80% recommended man-days used and 80% of fertilizer dosage fertilize standard application.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi pupuk kotoran ternak sapi dan tanah pada media polibag terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah Varietas Bima Brebes. Dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Winaya Mukti, Kecamatan Tanjungsari, Kabupaten Sumedang pada ketinggian 864 meter di atas permukaan laut, pada polibag pada tanah Andisol. Artikel ini mempelajari perbandingan pupuk kotoran ternak dan tanah yang baik, mengetahui hasil dari masing masing perbandingan pupuk kotoran ternak dan tanah, dan mempelajari pengaruh setiap perbandingan terhadap petumbuhan dan produksi bawang merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah RAK (Rancangan Acak Kelompok) sederhana yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan yang terjadi antara pupuk kotoran ternak sapi dan tanah dengan taraf yaitu A (tanah), B (1:3), C (2:2) dan D (3:1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan D pupuk kotoran ternak sapi dan tanah (3:1) mampu meningkatkan rata rata tinggi tanaman sebesar 57,8%, jumlah daun sebesar 52,1%, jumlah umbi 58,3%, bobot umbi 183,5% bila dibanding dengan perlakuan kontrol.

Abstract

Yield of corn production can be increased by managing spacing and providing optimal dosages of phosphate fertilizers. This study aimed to find a combination of SP-36 fertilizer dosage and spacing that was able to produce the best results for P21 hybrid maize on ultisol soil in Kuningan. The experimental design used was a randomized block design, consisting of 16 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consisted of 4 spacing (60 x 25cm, 70 x 25cm, 80 x 25cm, 90 x 25cm) combined with 4 doses of SP-36 fertilizer (0 kg / ha, 100 kg / ha, 200 kg / ha, 300 kg /Ha). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test at the 5% level. The results showed that the combination of spacing and dosage of SP-36 fertilizer had a significant effect on growth in height, stem diameter, yield, weight of cob without husks, and shell weight per hectare. The combination of spacing and SP-36 (90 x 25cm and 300 kg / ha) gave the best results on number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, age of male flowers, age of female flowers, ear height, ear length, harvest ear diameter, number of rows. ear, ear weight with ear, ear weight without ear. Abstract

The study aims to determine the abundance of insects in various types of intercropping of soybean with refugia plants. The research was conducted at Kp. Rancabango Kec. Tarogong Kaler from May to November 2020. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. The various kinds of intercropping treatment consisted of borders, mix cropping, refugia only and soybeans only. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the index of diversity values of fitfall trap and yellow trap on the intercropping land of soybean with refugia plants were in the medium category and the dominance index value in the traps both were in the low category.

Abstract

Bitter melone (Momordica charantia L) is a type of vegetable that is easy to cultivate and their growth does not depend on season conditions, so that bitter melon plants can grow wild in abandoned land, or are usually planted in yards by propagating into fences, bitter melon (Momordica charantia L) is one a vegetable commodity that has commercial potential when cultivated on an agribusiness scale. The purpose of this research was to measure the thickness of straw mulch which gave the best response to the growth and yield of bitter melon. This research was from August to September 2020, the method used in this experiment used a single factor randomized block design (RBD) method consisting of 5 treatments, namely: A (No Mulch), B (MPHP), C (2 cm Thickness Straw Mulch), D (4 Thickness Straw Mulch) cm), E (Straw Mulch with 6 cm thickness) with 5 replications, then if there is a treatment that has a significant effect, further analysis is carried out using LSD 5%. The significant effect of using several thickness levels of rice straw mulch on all growth characters (35 das) and yield (57 das) of bitter melon plants was observed. Straw mulch thickness of 6 cm gave the best results on the characters of plant length (129.33 cm), stem diameter (5.112 mm), number of fruits (0.92), fruit length (19.17 cm), fruit diameter (35.272 mm), weight the fruit of the plant (176.4 g), and the weight of the fruit per bed ( 1,461 kg equal to 1.76 ton/ ha). However, of this research the Black and Silver Plastic Mulch (MPHP) as control treatment had better results on all growth and production characteristics of bitter melon plants. Abstract

Good quality cajuput seedlings procured from generative propagation are essential, since the mature trees will be functioning as oil production trees, stock (parent) plant for stem cuttings, and major players on land conservations.In addition to superior genetic factors, the so-called Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) treatment with the optimum concentration would help in enhancing the quality of generative seedlings. Therefore, systematic experiment is needed to determine the effective concentration of PGPR required for preparing high quality cajuput seedlings. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) experiment with randomly assigned concentration of PGPR on cajuput juvenile as the primary factor. The height growth and root length growth of the juvinile for given period of time were measured to evaluate the effect of PGPR treatment. There were monotonically improvement on juvinile’s height and root length growth after PGPR treatment, showing a positive correlation between the height and root length. During the experiment, the highest PGPR concentration of 90mL/L was discovered to be the most effective. Nevertheless, they still had not reached the saturation point yet, therefore, more study is needed to determine the most optimum PGPR concentration to produce the exemplary cajuput seedlings.
