Abstract

The purpose of writing this paper is to describe the acquisition of compound sentences for children aged 4:0 through playing activities. Activities of children aged 4:0 years can not be separated from the world of play. Through play, children will interact and communicate spontaneously. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research data is the utterances of children aged 4:0 years in the form of clauses or sentences using listening and listening-engagement-conversation techniques with the help of peer tools and notes as data collection techniques. Data analysis was carried out with the emergence of comprehensiveness criteria, namely the elements that were said would be considered as a reflection of competence. The results found were the utterances expressed by children aged 4:0 years were already in sentence form but also found one or two words which were sometimes still related to the previous utterance. Sentences spoken by children aged 4:0 years already exist in the form of compound sentences that are in accordance with the development of the child's age.

Abstract

An area that has developed with multilingualism is certainly influenced by the community and the use of its language. People's attitudes towards language have an important role in preserving the culture of the area. This study aims to reveal the language attitude of the people of Ciwaru Village in the Ciletuh Geopark area towards multilingualism in order to preserve culture in the world geopark area and international tourism. This study using descriptive qualitative research design. The data collection of this research was carried out by direct interviews and distributing questionnaires to the people of Ciwaru Village, so that the data was in the form of responses or answers from the community. The research findings are that the people of Ciwaru Village have a positive attitude towards the three languages found in the Ciletuh Geopark Area. The community contributes to preserving the language as part of the culture by showing an attitude of language loyalty, language pride, and awareness of language. Research on community language attitudes towards multilingualism in the Ciletuh Geopark Area has never been done, so the results of this study are the first research to reveal the positive attitudes of the people of Ciwaru Village towards Sundanese, Indonesian, and English in the area.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan analisis kesalahan penggunaan konjungsi koordinatif dan subordinatif dalam teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Batang Anai Kabupaten Padang Pariaman Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data penelitian ini konjungsi koordinatif dan subordinatif teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Batang Anai Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Batang Anai. Data dianalisis dengan mengklasifikasikan, menganalisis, dan membahas data berdasarkan teori. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut. Pertama, dari 30 teks prosedur siswa ditemui 145 konjungsi koordinatif yang ditulis dengan tepat dan 51 konjungsi ditulis tidak tepat. Faktor penyebab kesalahan penggunaan konjungsi koordinatif ditemui 33 error dan 13 mistake. Kedua, dari 30 teks prosedur siswa ditemui 107 konjungsi subordinatif yang ditulis dengan tepat dan 26 konjungsi ditulis tidak tepat. Faktor penyebab kesalahan penggunaan konjungsi subordinatif siswa ditemui 17 error dan 9 mistake.

Abstract

(Objective) This study aims to describe the characteristics of the short story text structure of the students of Class XI SMAN 4 Pariaman,. Analysis using structural analysis. (Method) The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data collection technique used is the fishing rod technique. (Findings) The results of this study indicate that the short stories text structure of class XI students of SMAN 4 Pariaman for the academic year 2021/2022 have differences and have their respective characteristics between the short stories of students in class XI of SMAN 4 Pariaman for the academic year 2021/2022 and the short stories of Si Padang.

Abstract

The aims of this study were (1) to describe the environmental field vocabulary mastery of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang, (2) to describe the skills of writing news text of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 engayang, and (3) to describe the correlation of vocabulary mastery in the environmental filed and the skills of writing news text of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang. This study use quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The design of this study is correlational. The population of this study is grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang listed of the school year 2020/2021 are 135 students. The sample is determined by purposive random sampling technique of 35% of the population are 45 students. The result of this study there are three. Firstly, the vocabulary mastery of environmental field of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang is in good qualification (B). Secondly, the skills of writing news text of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang are in good qualification (B). Thirdly, there is a correlation of vocabulary mastery in the environmental filed and the skills of writing news text of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang with n-1 degrees of freedom at the 95% confidence level. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount (6,80) is greater than ttable (1,68).

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI MAN 2 Padang sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik Collaborative Strategic Reading serta menganalisis pengaruh teknik Collaborative Strategic Reading terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI MAN 2 Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 9 yang berjumlah 36 siswa melalui teknik penarikan data secara purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data ini sebagai berikut. Pertama, melakukan pretest keterampilan membaca. Kedua, lembaran hasil kerja diberikan skor. Ketiga, melakukan proses pembelajaran menggunakan teknik Collaborative Strategic Reading. Keempat, siswa mengerjakan posttest keterampilan membaca. Kelima, lembaran hasil posttest diberikan skor. Berdasarkan analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan tiga hal berikut. Pertama, keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi siswa XI MAN 2 Padang sebelum menggunakam teknik CSR berada pada kualifikasi Lebih dari Cukup (LdC). Kedua, keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi siswa XI MAN 2 Padang sesudah menggunakam teknik CSR berada pada kualifikasi Baik. Ketiga, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada penggunaan teknik CSR terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi siswa. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan nilai keterampilan membaca pemahaman sesudah menggunakan teknik CSR terhadap siswa kelas XI MAN 2 Padang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan nilai keterampilan membaca pemahaman sebelum menggunakan teknik CSR terhadap siswa kelas XI MAN 2 Padang. Berdasarkan uji-t disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima dengan taraf signifikansi 95% dan dk=(n-1) karena thitung > ttabel (3,48 > 1,70).

Abstract

The use of figure of speech in literary works aims to obtain the effects of beauty and to convey the intent of the author. This study aims to describe the comparative figure of speech contained in Andrea Hirata's novel Buku Besar Peminum Kopi and to describe the comparative figure of speech in Indonesian language learning, namely the text of the XII high school novel. This type of research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences containing comparative comparisons in the novel Buku Besar Peminum Kopi by Andrea Hirata. The data source in this research is the novel Buku Besar Peminum Kopi by Andrea Hirata. Based on the research that has been done, it is found that comparative figure of speech consists of simile, metaphor, personification, antithesis, pleonasm, periphrasis, and also prolepsis or anticipation. The most dominant figure of speech used is metaphorical figure of speech with twenty two quotations. This is because Andrea Hirata dominantly uses figurative language explicitly in the novel. The least found figure of speech is the figure of speech periphrasis which is quoted one quote. This research can be implied in the form of a one-sheet Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) for class XII high school students at KD 3.9 and 4.9.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the following three things. First, describe the structure of the descriptive text of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung. Second, to describe the contents of the descriptive text of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung. Third, describe the diction of the descriptive text of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this study are in the form of structure, content, and diction of student description texts. The data source of this research is the descriptive text of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung for the academic year 2021/2022 with a total of 25 students.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded three things. First, in writing descriptive texts, seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung have used all three descriptive text structures. Second, in terms of content, the descriptive text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung has written the contents according to the structure of the descriptive text. Third, judging from the use of diction, the descriptive text of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung is more dominant in the accuracy of diction in the descriptive text of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Enam Lingkung.Keywords: structure, content, diction of description text

Abstract

There are three purposes of this study, first, to describe the skills of writing explanatory texts for class XI MAN Sibolga before using the ttw technique. Second, describe the skills of writing explanatory texts of class XI students of MAN Sibolga after using the ttw technique on the writing skills of the eleventh grade students of MAN Sibolga. This type of research is quantitative research with experiment methods. This research design is a one group pretest- posttest design. The population in this study were all class XI students of MAN Sibolga who were registered in the 2022/2023 academic year with a total of 208 people spread over six classes. The sample of this research is the students of class XI IPS 2, totaling 35 people who are determined by purposive sampling technique. The data of this research is the score of the test results of the writing skill of the explanatory text before and after using the ttw technique, the students of class XI MAN Sibolga are in the qualification more than enough with an average score of 68,81. Second, the skill of writing an explanatory text after using the ttw technique, the students of class XI MAN Sibolga are in the very good qualification with an average value of 87,38. Third, based on the t-test, the research hypothesis H1 was accepted at a significant level of 95% and degrees of freedom (dk)= (n-1) because tcount > ttable (9,72 > 1,70). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the students explanatorytext writing skill in class XI MAN Sibolga after using the ttw technique were better than before using the ttw technique. Thus, the ttw technique could be applied as an alternative in learning explanatory text writing skills.

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the background reality behind the text/speech, discourse as speech, and sociocultural practices that also examine the impact of satirical discourse on digital content. This is the impact of technological developments directly proportional to the use of social media. The ease of getting information influences the reader/audience. The audience is saturated and needs short entertaining videos. This is marked by the emergence of digital content in the form of cartoons that are suitable for venting frustration or the negative impact of phenomena that are rife. One of the selected digital content is Santoon TV. The selection is based on Santoon TV's most critical content discussing current phenomena. The satirist used by content creators is also more polite than others. The phenomenon of the emergence of digital content in the form of cartoons has developed first in America in the TV series The Simpsons. This research uses descriptive qualitative with critical discourse analysis of Norman Fairclough's theory. This method produces an analysis of the background reality behind the text/speech, discourse as utterances, and sociocultural practices.
