Abstract

Currently, the learning model used is still conventional which causes students to be less active in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on the mathematical understanding ability of junior high school students. The research method used is an experimental method using a posttest only control design. The population of the study was grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Cimahi. The subjects in this study were students including class VIII-J as a control class using conventional learning 37 people and class VIII-F as an experimental class given treatment in the form of learning with the discovery learning model as many as 37 people. The data analysis technique used was to use the normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test, where the sig. (2-tailed) result was 0.002 smaller than 0.05. From this study it can be said that the mathematical understanding ability in the control and experimental classes is normally distributed and has a homogeneous variance. Then based on the results of the t-test H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted and a difference was found between the experimental and control classes. Therefore, the Discovery Learning learning model in the experimental class, namely in class VIII-F, can improve the mathematical understanding abilities of junior high school student.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to ascertain the impact of self efficacy on problem solving ability in solving scale problems in class VIIB students of SMP Negeri 5 Cimahi. The subject of this study is 40 students in grade VIIB with 36 random samples. The type of research used is correlation analysis. The research instrument used is by distributing a self-efficacy questionnaire and a test of mathematical problem-solving ability. The data that has been obtained are then analyzed through classical assumption tests, Pearson correlation tests, and significance tests (t-test). Based on the analysis of questionnaire data and the mathematical problem-solving ability test, a correlation test score was obtained which has a sig value of 0.000 and a correlation amount of 0.775 which means that there is a correlation between Self Efficacy and Problem-Solving Ability, this shows that there is a direct correlation between the two variables. In addition, the Sig value was obtained from the t-test with a magnitude of 0.000 which means that the value does not exceed the significance level of 0.05, this shows that there is a unidirectional relationship and has a considerable influence. So it can be concluded that Problem-Solving Ability in solving scale problems is influenced by Self Efficacy

Abstract

The issue is that in the age of civilization 5.0, there aren't many options for learning, which makes it harder to comprehend math classes especially those involving straight line equations where learning ought to be participatory but isn't. The goal of this project is to develop straight line equation learning resources based on the Desmos website. In order to determine the viability and student reactions, research and development uses the ADDIE approach (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Neutral votes were removed from the Likert scale during data collection. Using purpose sampling procedures with 35 class VIII D students at SMP Negeri 1 Sumber, the applicability of the learning medium will be confirmed by one media expert, one language expert, one content expert, teacher replies, and student answers. Using the Desmos website, this project creates an interactive e-comic learning media product to help students solve mathematics problems in class VIII straight line equations. Based on the findings of the three validators' assessments, the learning media's feasibility received a total average score of 45.3, a feasibility percentage of 75%, and the "Worthy" category, meaning that the creation of this math learning media was deemed theoretically and conceptually feasible. Students' reaction to learning material, on the other hand, was favorable, scoring 86.37% and placing them in the "Very Good" category.
