Abstract

Acute emergencies are medical conditions that require rapid and appropriate treatment to prevent death or further damage to the patient. This situation often involves various health workers with different expertise, ranging from doctors, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, to other medical personnel. In dealing with acute emergency cases, one of the factors that determine the success of the treatment is the speed of action taken by the medical team. This speed depends not only on individual abilities, but also on how various health workers can collaborate effectively in a team. Interprofessional competence, which refers to the ability of health workers from different professions to work together to provide optimal health care, plays a very important role in such situations. Effective communication, a clear understanding of each team member's role, and collaboration skills are key elements that influence how quickly and appropriately the medical team can take the necessary actions in an emergency. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between interprofessional competence and team collaboration with the relationship between experience and competence there is a significant relationship between interprofessional competence and team collaboration with the relationship between experience and competence with a significant value of p = 0.001 < 0.05.

Abstract

Acute kidney failure (AKI) is a medical emergency characterized by a sudden decline in kidney function that occurs within hours to days. This condition causes fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base imbalances that are potentially life-threatening if not treated quickly and appropriately. This study aims to explore the role of nutritional intake in stabilizing patients with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in critical emergency conditions. This study highlights the importance of balanced macronutrient (calories and protein) and micronutrient intake, especially in managing fluid balance and maintaining electrolyte homeostasis. This study also investigates the impact of enteral and parenteral nutrition strategies, assessing their relevance in various clinical scenarios, especially for patients who cannot consume food orally. The study method is an observational analytical design with a prospective cohort approach. The results showed that there were significant differences in serum creatinine levels, GFR, and fluid balance before and after the intervention (p <0.05). However, changes in serum sodium levels did not show significant differences. Proper nutrition significantly contributes to the stabilization of AKI patients in emergency conditions.

Abstract

Stroke and heart attack are leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Early detection of emergency signs in both conditions is critical to increase the chances of recovery and reduce the risk of fatal complications. This study aims to evaluate the level of public awareness of the early signs of stroke and heart attack, and the factors that influence this understanding. The research method used was a quantitative survey with questionnaires distributed to respondents from various backgrounds of age, education, and occupation. The results showed that there is still a significant knowledge gap among the public regarding typical stroke symptoms, such as sudden weakness on one side of the body, speech impairment, and loss of balance, as well as heart attack symptoms, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, and cold sweat. Factors such as education level, access to health information, and personal or family experience with cardiovascular disease influence the level of awareness of respondents. Therefore, wider education efforts through health campaigns, social media, and community training are needed to improve early detection and rapid response to these emergencies. With increased public awareness, it is hoped that mortality and complications from stroke and heart attack can be minimized.

Abstract

Catastrophic illnesses are diseases that require immediate medical attention and often involve very high costs. Access to emergency services is a crucial factor in the management of these illnesses. Socioeconomic status (SES) is believed to have a significant impact on an individual's ability to access medical services. This study aims to analyze the relationship between socioeconomic status and access to emergency services for patients with catastrophic illnesses. The study uses a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consists of 200 patients with catastrophic illnesses treated at referral hospitals. Data analysis was conducted using univariate descriptive statistics to describe respondent characteristics, and bivariate analysis using chi-square tests to examine the relationship between socioeconomic status and access to emergency services. The univariate analysis showed that the majority of respondents had low education, middle to lower income, and most worked in the informal sector. Approximately 65% of respondents reported difficulty accessing emergency services, particularly among the low socioeconomic group. The bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between socioeconomic status and access to emergency services (p < 0.05). Based on the findings, socioeconomic status significantly affects access to emergency services. Individuals with low socioeconomic status tend to face barriers in obtaining immediate medical care due to limited financial resources, knowledge, and access to adequate healthcare facilities. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between socioeconomic status and access to emergency services for patients with catastrophic illnesses. Therefore, efforts to improve access and equitable distribution of emergency healthcare services, especially for people with low socioeconomic status, are necessary.

Abstract

Collaboration in stroke management requires an interdisciplinary approach to provide optimal care for patients. Given the complexity of stroke and its health risks, the involvement of various healthcare professions is crucial to ensuring comprehensive management. To address this, innovative care models such as interprofessional collaboration (IPC) involving pharmacists, nurses, and doctors in primary care have been proposed. This collaboration aims to improve patient care outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and enhance the effectiveness of the healthcare team. However, the implementation of this collaboration still faces challenges, such as a lack of effective communication and unclear roles between professions. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen communication and role definition within the interprofessional team to improve the effectiveness of interpersonal collaboration in stroke emergency management in primary care settings. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that interprofessional collaboration involves various healthcare workers from different professional backgrounds working together with patients.

Abstract

Teleconsultation has become a crucial innovation in healthcare services, particularly in interprofessional collaboration for managing emergencies in primary healthcare facilities. This technology enables faster and more efficient communication among medical personnel, improving service quality and expediting clinical decision-making. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of teleconsultation implementation in interprofessional collaboration for emergency management in primary healthcare facilities and to identify challenges and solutions in its implementation. This research employs a descriptive approach with a mixed-methods design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with healthcare professionals, observations of teleconsultation processes, and analysis of medical records of patients who received teleconsultation services during emergencies. The findings indicate that teleconsultation enhances communication efficiency among healthcare professionals, accelerates the diagnostic process and clinical decision-making, and reduces patient referral delays. However, challenges such as limited technological infrastructure, insufficient medical staff training, and difficulties in integrating information systems were identified. Teleconsultation has the potential to be an effective solution in improving emergency management in primary healthcare facilities, particularly within interprofessional collaboration. Enhancing technological infrastructure, providing adequate training for healthcare professionals, and optimizing referral systems are necessary to support the effective implementation of teleconsultation

Abstract

Abstract According to Government Regulation No. 33 of 2012 it is stated that Exclusive Breast Milk, hereinafter referred to as Exclusive Breast Milk, is breast milk given to babies from birth for 6 (six) months, without adding and/or replacing it with other food or drinks. . The impact if the mother does not give exclusive breastfeeding, the baby will be at risk of experiencing health problems and being susceptible to infection. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted at the Panombean Panei Health Center. The research informants were 7 people, the samples were taken by snowballing. Data were analyzed in depth in narrative form by means of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions/verification.The results of the study show that the implementation of the exclusive breastfeeding program at the Panombean Panei Health Center has not been maximized, for the last 4 years the average <40% is still far from the national target of 85%. Bureaucratically, the parties responsible for and involved in the exclusive breastfeeding program are the head of the Puskesmas, the MCH program holder, the nutrition program holder, and the village midwife. Recording and reporting is carried out by the village midwife every month and the health center reports to the Simalungun District Office at the beginning of the month. The resources of health personnel in promoting the exclusive breastfeeding program are sufficient. ASI corner is available but not utilized. Facilities and infrastructure for counseling are still lacking such as leaflets and booklets. The source of funds comes from Health Operational Assistance (BOK) combined with other MCH programs. There is no charge for the implementation of the exclusive breastfeeding program. The disposition or attitude of health workers is good and friendly in providing counseling about exclusive breastfeeding, providing information that is easily understood by mothers. Not all mothers can attend posyandu because of work. Supervision is not carried out specifically and the sanctions are only in the form of a warning. Communication in the implementation of the exclusive breastfeeding program was carried out by health workers by going into the field providing counseling or education by cooperating with the village midwife by forming a class for pregnant women and a class for babies. The frequency of counseling is not routine because the area of the Panombean Panei Health Center is wide. Keywords: Application of Policy, Exclusive Breastfeeding Program, Health Center
