Abstract

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is a learning that consists of 4 fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of the STEM-PjBL learning model on student learning outcomes. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Bontang, namely 35 students in class VII E. This type of research used quantitative research with the One Group Pretest Posttest method. The research sampling technique used purposive sampling. Collecting data in this study used test techniques which totaled 8 questions in the form of essays. The results showed that the average student learning outcomes before the STEM-PjBL learning model was applied was 28.7 and after the STEM-PjBL learning model was applied the average student score increased to 65.5 with an average N-Gain of 0. 5 which is included in the medium category.

Abstract

The process of utilizing electromagnetic radiation from the radiometric values (Near-Infrared/NIR) and RED in the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) on Sentinel-2 imagery involves measuring light reflection at specific wavelengths reflected by vegetation. NDVI is computed by taking the difference between NIR and RED reflectance, then dividing it by their sum. In-depth analysis of electromagnetic wave interaction and plant spectral characteristics, such as NIR light reflection in healthy leaves, enables mapping vegetation health levels. The research aims to process image data and create a model visualizing vegetation health in the Sentinel-2 research area. Across the total area of 601,971,281.26 m2, 30.37% is healthy vegetation, 12.52% is moderate, and 53.33% is low or unhealthy. The least healthy area has an NDVI of -0.2006, while the healthiest area has a value of 0.6043.

Abstract

Raising disaster awareness for student teachers has become a necessity nowadays, especially in Indonesia which is geographically located in the world's ring of fire. It is hoped that the physics practicum-based landslide learning model will be able to raise disaster awareness among prospective teachers. By using a landslide case study, this research seeks to create a disaster learning resource model that is student-oriented, including lesson plans, LKPD, syllabus, and disaster awareness evaluation. The 4D model research design—Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate—is the research methodology used in this research. Analysis of learning objectives, disaster awareness, and disasters is completed in the Define step. Learning tools are created during the Design stage. Product development, product expert validation, product revision, and testing of methods for evaluating student instructors' knowledge of disasters are all carried out in the development stage; Product distribution has not been completed at the disseminate stage. The trial was carried out among a sample of fifteen prospective teachers from the Physics Education Study Program, FKIP, Mataram University. The expert validator test of the disaster (landslide) learning model learning tool based on practical physics gave valid results. The results of the validity and reliability test of the disaster awareness evaluation instrument are valid and reliable. These results support the idea that disaster awareness assessment instruments and learning resources for prospective teachers can be used in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the magnitude of the increase in students' creative thinking skills after applying scientific-based Prezi presentation media. (2) large Effect Size of the application of scientific-based Prezi presentation media to improve students' creative thinking skills (3) a significant increase in the average score of students' creative thinking skills after applying scientific-based Prezi presentation media (4) there is no difference in the average score of creative thinking skills of grade VIII G and class VIII H students after applying scientific-based Prezi presentation media. The population was all class VIII SMPN 6 Makassar consisting of 11 classes with a total of 381 people. The sample in the study VIII G consisted of 35 students and VIII H consisting of 31 students with a total sample of 66 students. The test used is an essay test obtained from pretest and posttest data analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistic. The results of this study were: (1) Improvement of creative thinking skills of students in class VIII Hi SMPN 6 Makassar who were taught using Scientifically based Prezi presentation media obtained N-Gain, which is 0.46 in the medium category. (2) the level of results of the Effect Size analysis of students after the application of Scientifically-based Prezi presentation media in the learning process is 4.48 for class VIII G and 4.68 for class VIII H which is in the Strong Effect category. (3) there was a significant increase in the average score after the application of scientific-based Prezi presentation media. (4) There is no difference in the average N-Gain score of creative thinking skills between class VIII G and class VIII H because both classes are given the same treatment, which is taught using scientific-based Prezi presentation media. This shows that the application of Prezi presentation media can improve students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

One of the skills needed to face challenges in the 21st century is problem solving. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was a significant difference between students' problem solving abilities before and after applying problem based learning to static fluid material. The method used in this research is a pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest group design. The research subject used in this study was one of the Senior High Schools in South Sulawesi, with a total of 33 students including 9 boys and 14 girls. The instrument used to collect data is a problem solving ability test instrument in the form of a description of static fluid material. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the average score of students' problem solving abilities before the application of problem based learning was 59.81 while after the application of problem based learning was 194.15. Meanwhile, the results of the value of the paired t-test analysis, namely 0.00 <0.05 so that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, there is a significant difference between students' problem solving abilities before and after the application of problem based learning to static fluid material.

Abstract

This paper aims to map the existing conceptual understanding literature to explore and classify current theory and practice in physics education. This paper systematically reviews research on conceptual understanding in the field of physics education from 2012 to 2023. The PRISMA framework for systematic literature was used, 278 research articles specific to physics education were identified through a structured keyword search in the SCOPUS database. The analysis revealed two important objectives in the conceptual understanding commonly used in physics education research. First, it relates to the distribution of conceptual understanding articles in terms of number per year, country, research discipline, and journal in which they are published. Second, revealing research collaboration between countries which is dominated by developed countries such as the United States, Germany, Chile, Croatia and Mexico. As for the future agenda, it is important to collaborate on research in developing countries.
