Abstract

This article is a study of socio-economic history that discusses the development of the socio-economic life of women workers at the CV spice export factory. Rasdi & Co Padang City. This study aims to determine the development of the socio-economic life of women workers after working at CV. Rasdi & Co Padang City. This study uses historical methods consisting of heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiography steps. The results of this study indicate that the lives of women workers can develop well, because the wages they earn are able to meet the daily needs of their families and can improve the education of their children. This can happen because companies often apply overtime and a contract system so that women workers can get additional income beyond their daily wages. So it can be concluded that this company has the goal of empowering women who want to work to help the family's economy without the requirement of a higher education certificate. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic this company was forced to take action to lay off old female workers for the safety of all workers and to maintain the continuity of the company in the midst of economic difficulties because spice export activities were temporarily stopped and only carried out spice delivery activities within Indonesia.

Abstract

Sumpah Pemuda was read on October 28, 1928, as the final result of the Second Indonesian Youth Congress meeting, which until now is usually commemorated every year with the birth of Sumpah Pemuda,, which is one of the important milestones in the history of the Indonesian nation's struggle. In the current era, what role does the meaning of the youth oath play in fostering the spirit of nationalism? Where nationalism itself is a manifestation of his love for his own country. This article was created to find out what the relevance of the meaning of the youth oath is in fostering a spirit of nationalism and, among them, being proud to speak Indonesian, teaching the values of unity so as to avoid issues of sara, fostering a sense of love for the motherland, etc. This article uses a qualitative approach with historical research methods and data collection techniques using literature studies taken based on keywords carried out from various scientific reference sources, journals, Google Books, and other online sources. The Youth Pledge, which is annually commemorated on October 28 and was established in 1928, has such a deep meaning for the Indonesian nation because of its fruitful struggle where there is Indonesian unity, one language, namely Indonesian, and pride in being part of the Indonesian state. It is fitting that today's young generation continue the struggle for Sumpah Pemuda with their spirit of nationalism. So that Indonesian identity is not lost and is not easily influenced by bad influences from other nations. Nationalism itself is a form of love for one's nation. By doing various things, including upholding unity by respecting others, upholding tolerance, and not being affected by issues of sara and hoaxes, especially in the increasingly widespread digital era, being proud to speak Indonesian can be applied by learning to use proper spelling, always using formal events, loving domestic products, and wearing batik and the work of the nation's children in the form of clothes, shoes, and other necessities, as well as helping to preserve the culture of the country and region of origin. These things should be introduced and taught to the younger generation today and in the future so that their sustainability is maintained and can be enjoyed by the general public in their own countries and abroad.

Abstract

It is very important to educate the next generation about history. As for sharing historical records with the next generation, this project intends to investigate the indigenous wisdom of the Malay population. In-depth data collection from a thorough literature review is used in the qualitative approach of this research. The research findings reveal that efforts are being made to promote local history in society through teaching and cultivating interest in local historical stories. The capacity of the community to study, investigate, and be aware of local history in their area is greatly facilitated by the availability of accompanying facilities and infrastructure. In an effort to retain and preserve knowledge of historical records that have been lost or nearly forgotten, historical texts are used to validate the identification of groups of people. Since the past is the outcome and realization for the people of that time, historians and new generations are looking back at the past. Public interest in history is growing. Understanding history becomes even more important when technology and progress dominate society. Communities can interact with resource persons directly at this seminar or through publication activities, making it easier for the public to learn about local history, broaden their knowledge, and interact with others. Customs, beliefs, arts, traditions, traditional ceremonies, traditional clothing, regional food, social stratification, and other aspects of local culture can all be observed. This diversity is the result of how a group of people organize and adapt to their environment. The next generation will continue the established trend. Through publications and seminars, the public can interact directly with resource people to gain further knowledge and exchange information. In the era of globalization, Malay traditions such as poetry and gurindam need to be developed based on historical stories to preserve local culture.

Abstract

This study discusses issues regarding the history and anniversary of the city of Depok. It cannot be denied that the city of Depok has a long history because it has existed since the 17th century. This can be seen from the Dutch colonial buildings located in the city of Depok, but now they have changed their function and have been destroyed. However, the city of Depok developed into a modern city and left its identity as a city with a million history in it. The historical aspects inherent in Depok are gradually being eroded as the function of heritage buildings has changed into commercial facilities such as kiosks and shops. This study aims to describe the history of the founding of the city of Depok. In addition, it also examines the anniversary of the city of Depok which should be. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods. This library research was conducted by reading and analyzing books, journals, and various literature reading materials which were then outlined in this paper. This study found the fact that Depok is a city that is hundreds of years old and keeps long historical records so that it is not much different from the cities of Bandung and the cities of Jakarta.
