Abstract

This research aims to investigate the use of the story method in increasing student involvement in history learning at SMA Negeri 1 Medan. The story method is an approach that utilizes narrative to bring historical content to students in an interesting and engaging way. This research uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory study design. Data was collected through classroom observations, interviews with history teachers, and questionnaires given to students. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques. The research results show that using the story method can increase student involvement in history learning. Students responded positively to the use of narrative in understanding historical content and felt more involved and enthusiastic in the learning process. The implications of this research provide encouragement for history teachers to consider using the story method as an effective learning strategy for increasing student engagement in history lessons. The story method also encourages students to think critically and reflectively. They are invited to see multiple points of view and understand the complexity of historical events, which helps them develop analytical and critical skills. The use of stories creates a more inclusive and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. Students feel more involved and valued, which in turn increases their motivation to study history. However, this research also identified several challenges in implementing the story method, such as the need for additional time to design interesting and relevant story material as well as differences in student learning preferences. However, these challenges can be overcome through collaboration between teachers and support from the school. Overall, this research concludes that the story method is an effective and innovative learning strategy for increasing student involvement in history learning. The recommendation put forward is to continue developing and perfecting this method, as well as providing training and workshops for teachers so that they are more skilled in implementing the story method. In this way, it is hoped that history learning in high schools can become more interesting, interactive and meaningful for students and help them develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of history.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the profile of an intellectual hero, Abdul Haris Nasution. To obtain the necessary data, researchers used historical research methods consisting of four stages, namely, heuristics, source criticism, data interpretation and historiography. Then the data collection technique is done with literature studies through books, journals and articles available on the internet, as well as documentation by collecting supporting images or photos. The results showed that Abdul Haris Nasution was the initiator of the dual function of ABRI and the foundation of his guerrilla warfare as outlined in the book Gerilya Principles during the Dutch military aggression at that time to break the Dutch attack. The war is known to attack suddenly, then disappear quickly before the enemy has time to counterattack. Apart from being the originator of guerrilla warfare, Abdul Haris Nasution also contributed to the dual function of ABRI by formulating the dual function of ABRI, which was then known as the "Middle Way". On the night of 30 September 1965, he was one of the Army officers who almost became a casualty of the G30SPKI. He was the main target who managed to escape the operation. The targeting of A.H Nasution was inseparable from his attitude and views towards the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI). During an attack by the PKI on his residence, A.H Nasution was able to escape and run away from the PKI. But unfortunately, the victim of the PKI attack was his daughter, Ade Irma Suryani, who was shot in her mother's arms.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the implementation of active learning methods in increasing students' interest and understanding in history lessons at SMAN 14 Medan. Active learning methods are used as the main approach to presenting historical material to students. Research was conducted by collecting qualitative and quantitative data from students involved in the active learning process. The research results show that the implementation of active learning methods is effective in increasing students' interest in history lessons and increasing their understanding of the material being taught. These findings underline the importance of using interactive and participation-based learning methods to strengthen the learning process in schools. The implications of this research provide a basis for the development of more effective learning strategies in the context of history learning in high schools. However, the implementation of active learning methods depends not only on the type of activity carried out but also on the teacher's pedagogical skills in designing and implementing interactive learning. Therefore, continued support for developing teacher skills in using active learning methods is the key to success in improving the quality of history learning at SMAN 14 Medan. Thus, this research provides a valuable contribution to our understanding of the importance of active learning methods in increasing students' interest in and understanding of history lessons. Continuous efforts are needed to expand the use of these methods and overcome challenges that may arise in their implementation, so as to create more meaningful and valuable learning experiences for students in understanding their historical heritage.

Abstract

The aims of this research are (1) to analyze the effect of compensation on the quality of learning at SMPN Pante Ceureumen West Aceh; (2) to analyze the influence of teacher work commitment on the quality of learning at SMPN Pante Ceureumen West Aceh; (3) to analyze the effect of teacher job satisfaction on the quality of learning at SMPN Pante Ceureumen West Aceh; and (4) to analyze the influence of compensation, commitment, and job satisfaction of teachers on the quality of learning at SMPN Pante Ceureumen West Aceh. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, a population of 23 people, a sample of 23 people, and a simple random sampling technique using Sugiyono's sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out using a Likert scale questionnaire and multiple linear regression data processing techniques. The research findings were partially obtained: (1) compensation did not have a positive influence on the quality of learning with a coefficient of 0.461, or 46.1% (in percentage), and hypothesis testing produced a calculated T value of 0.752, which was smaller than the T table value of 2.093. This shows that the compensation variable has no effect on the quality of learning. (2) Commitment has a positive influence on the quality of learning with a coefficient of 0.008 or 0.08% (in percentage). Hypothesis testing produces a calculated T value of 2.984, which is greater than the T table value of 2.093. (3) Teacher job satisfaction has a positive influence on the quality of learning with a coefficient of 0.463, or 46.3% (in percentage). Hypothesis testing produces a calculated T value of 0.748, which is smaller than the T table value of 2.093. Meanwhile, simultaneously, it was found that teacher compensation, commitment, and job satisfaction had a positive influence on the quality of learning, with a constant value of 8.670. The findings in this research have practical implications, namely that teacher compensation, commitment, and job satisfaction have implications for improving the quality of learning at SMPN Pante Ceureumen, West Aceh Regency. Advice to all school principals: compensation should be given more attention and given for the welfare of educators and education staff. In this way, the hope is that teacher performance will increase and be maximized. A teacher should have organizational commitment and high work enthusiasm so that the vision and mission targets schools can be easily achieved, and every teacher must have and maintain job satisfaction so that they remain enthusiastic in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as educators. It is hoped that this will have an impact on improving teacher performance and the quality of education nationally.

Abstract

Dalam perjalanan Tan malaka dari suliki Sumatera Barat hingga ke haarlem Belanda, ia melewati berbagai kondisi untuk dapat menyelesaikan pendidikan lanjutannya di Belanda hingga sampainya Tan malaka ke Tanah Deli. Deli menjadi sebuah kisah dan lembaran awal serta baru bagi Tan Malaka setelah menyelesaikan studinya di Belanda. Tan Malaka diminta untuk menjadi Guru di sekolah di perkebunan Tembakau Sanembah Deli yang membawa banyak pengalaman dalam waktu yang cukup singkat. Setelah kepulangannya ke kampung halaman, ia benar-benar melihat realitas yang sebenar-benarnya di lingkungan perkebunan Tembakau Sanembah Deli. Pandangannya sangat berbeda dari sebelum dan sesudah ia sampai di Deli.  Di perkebunan Sanembah Deli ini, Tan malaka melihat banyak ketidak adilan yang dilakukan oleh kolonial belanda terhadap para kuli di Deli. Ia berusaha bertahan di Deli dan memberikan pengajaran yang layak pada anak-anak kuli kontrak tersebut dengan mengajarkan membaca, berhitung, menulis dan mengajarkan Bahasa melayu sebagai Bahasa pengantar dalam pembelajaran namun beberapa sistem pengajaran yang diterapkan Tan malaka di sekolah ini ditentang oleh Tuan kebun yang ada di Deli. Sekolah Deli Maatschapij inilah yang menjadi saksi dan bukti bahwa Tan malaka dalam perjalanan perjuangannya pernah sampai ke Tanah Deli untuk dapat memberikan pendidikan yang layak pada anak-anak kuli di Deli.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the army in New Order politics in Indonesia, focusing on the policies and actions of President Suharto and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia (ABRI). The New Order was an important period in Indonesian history marked by military rule under General Suharto for more than three decades. This research uses historical research methods to explore historical records, government policies, and the role of ABRI in the formation and maintenance of New Order political power. Through an in-depth analysis of primary and secondary sources, this study attempts to answer several key questions, including how ABRI's role in maintaining political stability during the New Order, how the relationship between Suharto and ABRI influenced policymaking, and how this role influenced Indonesia's political, economic, and social development. The results showed that ABRI had a key role in maintaining the New Order regime by providing security support, supervising the political opposition, and being involved in key policymaking. The close relationship between Suharto and ABRI also established a strong power dynamic in Indonesia during this period. In addition, ABRI's role in managing social and political conflicts has an impact on the social and economic development of the country. This research provides in-depth insight into the role of the military in New Order politics and its relevance to political developments in Indonesia today. The political and social implications of ABRI's role in the New Order will also be discussed, as well as its impact on the democratic transition in Indonesia after the fall of the Suharto regime.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the socio-cultural life of Toba Batak husband and wife couples after marriage according to the pasu-pasu raja custom. The type of research used is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The data collection technique used in this research is through participant observation with the aim that the author can understand in depth the socio-cultural life of married couples who are adapting to the post-pasu-pasu raja custom based on what the author sees, feels and hears. Apart from that, we also conducted in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of this research reveal conditions where it is not permissible to visit the wife's family before carrying out the Toba Batak traditional wedding stage, namely manuruk-nuruk. Feelings of shame arise towards parents because they have disappointed them. Then husband and wife are not allowed to receive and give ulos at any traditional event as long as they have not held an official traditional event. If one day their children want to get married but their parents have not yet done their best, then they will not be able to marry their children. Furthermore, the efforts made by husband and wife to be able to face all the consequences they receive after getting married after the pasu-pasu raja custom is to work diligently to collect sinamot or dowry money so that they can hold traditional parties, whether small traditional parties or large traditional parties. Based on the research results above, it can be concluded that with the efforts made by husband and wife couples in dealing with the socio-cultural life they are going through, there are adaptations that must be faced in responding to post-marriage socio-cultural life according to the traditional pasu-pasu raja of the Toba Batak ethnic group in Tarutung District.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the challenges faced and the strategies used by history teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Medan in implementing the Independent Learning Curriculum. Qualitative research methods were used to collect data through in-depth interviews with eight experienced history teachers. Data analysis was carried out using a thematic approach to identify general patterns in the challenges faced and strategies implemented. The research results show that history teachers face a variety of challenges in implementing the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum, including a lack of resources, the need for additional training, and pressure to balance the curriculum. To overcome these challenges, teachers use a variety of strategies, including collaboration between teachers, integration of technology, and adjustments in teaching. The implications of these findings for developing teacher professionalism and improving the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum are discussed in the context of this research. The challenges of implementing the Independent Learning Curriculum, including limited resources, the need for additional training, and the pressure to balance the existing curriculum with new principles, are the main obstacles for history teachers. History teachers use various strategies, such as collaboration between teachers, integration of technology in learning, and adjustments in teaching, to overcome challenges and increase the effectiveness of history teaching. The implications of these findings include the need to provide adequate resources, collaborative support from various parties, and increase the integration of technology in history learning. By understanding and overcoming the challenges faced by history teachers, as well as implementing appropriate strategies, the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum at SMA Negeri 2 Medan can be improved, which in turn will bring benefits to the development of teacher professionalism and improve the quality of learning in the school. Therefore, concrete steps need to be designed and implemented to support history teachers in facing challenges and improving the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum at SMA Negeri 2 Medan.

Abstract

Teacher job satisfaction is one of the factors that must be considered, if teachers feel satisfaction at work, it will create an atmosphere full of togetherness, having the same responsibilities, a good communication climate and also high work morale so that the goals of the organization or school can be achieved effectively. maximum. But on the other hand, if the teacher is not satisfied, it will create a stiff, boring atmosphere and low team spirit. Against the background of this phenomenon, this article discusses the results of quantitative research aimed at finding out the relationship between motivation, compensation and organizational climate and job satisfaction of teachers at the Bireuen Regency State Vocational High School. By using a questionnaire as a data collection instrument, which was analyzed using multiple regression analysis techniques, data analysis showed that motivation had a positive and significant effect on teacher job satisfaction of 0.432, compensation had a positive and significant effect on teacher job satisfaction of 0.287, organizational climate had a positive and significant effect. on teacher job satisfaction of 0.248 and motivation, compensation, organizational climate together have a positive and significant effect on teacher job satisfaction of 54.281. The conclusion obtained is that hypotheses one, two, three and four are accepted or rejected. Ha accepts Ho.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) Menganalisis perencanaan segitiga restitusi untuk mewujudkan pendidikan karakter profil pelajar Pancasila di SMPIT Teuku Umar, 2) Menganalisis pengelolaan Segitiga Restitusi untuk mewujudkan pendidikan karakter profil pelajar Pancasila di SMPIT Teuku Umar, 3) Menganalisis pelaksanaan segitiga restitusi untuk mewujudkan pendidikan karakter profil pelajar Pancasila di SMPIT Teuku Umar, 4) Menganalisis pengawasan segitiga restitusi untuk mewujudkan pendidikan karakter profil pelajar Pancasila di SMPIT Teuku Umar. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, yaitu pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi, Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perencanaan segitiga restitusi melalui sosialisasi kepada guru dan stake holder, memberikan pemahamaman tujuan dan prinsip-prinsip dasar dari segitiga restitusi, guru mengikuti lokakarya. (2) Pengawasan melalui supervisi terhadap segitiga restitusi serta pengawasan terhadap pelaksanaan program. Hasil dari manajemen segitiga restitusi yang dilaksanakan sesuai dengan perencanaan, pengelolaan, pelaksanaan dan pengawasan yang sistematis berhasil diterapkan untuk mewujudkan pendidikan karakter profil pelajar pancasila di SMPIT Teuku Umar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa SMPIT Teuku Umar berada pada tahap pengembangan yang sangat baik dalam penerapan Segitiga Restitusi.
