Abstract

This research discusses the development of e-teaching materials based on historical event monuments in Payakumbuh City and Limapuluh Kota Regency as a historical learning resource to build historical awareness. This E-Teaching Material media contains material on the history of monuments in Payakumbuh City and Limapuluh Kota Regency. The purpose of this research is as a learning resource in the history learning process and to build students' historical awareness of the monuments in the city of Payakumbuh and the fifty city districts. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method where the researcher is the key instrument and data processing is descriptive. Data collection techniques in this research used observation and interviews. The results and discussion of this research are that students have low enthusiasm for learning history which is caused by the monotonous use of history learning media so that students need interesting and creative learning media so that they can attract students' interest in learning history. The media that is the solution in this research is E-Teaching Material media which is based on monuments of historical events in the city of Payakumbuh and fifty city districts. It is hoped that this e-teaching material can be a solution to problems related to students' low enthusiasm for learning, so that effective history learning will be created and can achieve history learning goals.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of local source material in fostering a love of local history from the perspective of students at SMA Negeri 1 Medan. The research method used is qualitative, with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 15 students selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using thematic coding techniques. The research results show that local source materials have a significant role in increasing students' interest in and love for local history. Factors such as relevance, depth of understanding, and direct experience with local source material influence students' perceptions of the importance and relevance of local history in their lives. This research provides implications for the development of a more inclusive and locally based history curriculum to strengthen students' cultural and national identities. In conclusion, this research makes a significant contribution to the development of a more inclusive and locally-based history curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Medan. By understanding more deeply the role of local source materials in fostering a love of local history, we can design learning experiences that are more relevant and engaging for students and help strengthen their cultural and national identities.

Abstract

Pemahaman masyarakat saat ini tentang sumpah pemuda tidak lebih dari pengetahuan akan adanya sumpah yang di lakukan oleh organisasi-organisasi pemuda saat itu. Dalam sumpah pemuda yang saat ini masih diingat dan diajarkan di dalam buku-buku sejarah adalah terkait janji ataupun sumpah yang berisikan pernyataan-pernyataan akan menjunjung tumpah darah yang satu yaitu tanah air Indonesia, berbangsa yang satu dan menjunjung bahasa persatuan bahasa Indonesia. Jika melihat kebelakang berdasarkan fakta yang ada, peristiwa 28 Oktober 1928 sebenarnya merupakan pertemuan-pertemuan oleh organisasi-organisasi kepemudaan yang disebut juga sebagai kongres pemuda kedua. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan fakta yang sebenarnya di balik naratif-naratif yang berkembang terkait Sumpah Pemuda dalam konteks era "post-truth". Dengan mendalaminya, diharapkan dapat terungkap pemahaman yang lebih jelas dan akurat mengenai peristiwa tersebut. Penelitian ini tidak hanya bersifat akademis, melainkan juga relevan dalam konteks sosial dan politik modern di mana pemahaman yang benar terkait sejarah nasional menjadi krusial untuk membangun identitas dan persatuan bangsa. Dalam penulisan artikel ini, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif studi Pustaka (library research). Dalam pengumpulan data penulis mencari sumber baik dari buku, jurnal, arsip, dan bahan Pustaka lainnya yang penulis dapatkan dari berbagai referensi. Bahan pustaka yang didapat penulis dari berbagai referensi kemudian dianalisis secara kritis dan mendalam agar dapat mendukung proposisi dan gagasan. Dalam menganalisis data penulis melakukan Trianggulasi data yakni dengan menggunakan berbagai macam data, menggunakan lebih dari satu teori, beberapa teknik analisa, dan melibatkan lebih banyak peneliti dalam mengolah hasil penelitian. Kebenaran hasil Kongres Pemuda yang saat ini dikenal dengan isi sumpah pemuda, bahwa dilihat dari sejarahnya Bangsa Indonesia tidak pernah bersumpah, namun seiring berjalannya waktu penggunaan kata kongres tidak lagi dipakai diganti dengan kata sumpah. Hasil Kongres yang telah disepakati oleh kaum pemuda, selain itu Penggunaan kata sumpah pemuda sudah melekat dalam Bangsa Indonesia bahkan peringatan hari Kongres yang pada tanggal 28 Oktober sudah dikenal dan diperingati dengan kata Sumpah Pemuda. Namun tidak dipungkiri bahwa sumpah pemuda ini memiliki peranan yang sangat besar hingga saat ini di Indonesia, dimana kepeloporan pemuda dalam perjuangan bangsa yang dilihat dari hasil putusan kongres menunjukkan semangat nasionalis yang kuat untuk memperjuangkan kemerdekaan Indonesia dengan semangat rela berkorban. Isi dari Sumpah pemuda itulah yang sampai saat ini menjadi pegangan para pemuda Indonesia untuk tetap melanjutkan dan mempertahankan kemerdekaan Indonesia melalui semangat nasionalisme, untuk tetap mengingat ikrar yang saat dikenal dengan Kata Sumpah Pemuda.

Abstract

The research objectives are 1) To determine the managerial influence of elementary school principals in West Aceh Regency on the quality of elementary school education in cluster 1 of Meureubo District in West Aceh Regency; 2); To determine the influence of school organizational culture on the quality of elementary school education in cluster 1 of Meureubo District in West Aceh Regency and 3). To determine the influence of school principal performance on the quality of elementary school education in cluster 1 of Meureubo District in West Aceh Regency. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods. According to Marwan, et al (2023) quantitative research involves and collects numerical data with control variables. Data collection techniques use questionnaires or questionnaires which are distributed to research samples. Meanwhile, data processing and analysis techniques use parametric statistical methods and tools. Population 449 people, sample 82 people, determining the number of samples in this study using the Taro Yamane formula. using an error acceptance of 10%. Based on the results of data processing and analysis, it can be concluded that there is an influence of managerial principals, organizational culture and principal performance on the quality of elementary school education in West Aceh Regency. Almost half of them answered that there is an influence of managerial principals, organizational culture and principal performance on the quality of elementary school education in cluster 1 Meureubo District in West Aceh Regency. This can be seen in the results of the average percentage of respondents who agreed, which was 41% and the percentage who answered very influential was 34%. Furthermore, a small number of respondents said it had no influence with a percentage of 10% of answers, 10% said it had very no influence and 5% answered doubtfully that there was an influence of the principal's managerial, organizational culture and principal performance on the quality of elementary school education in cluster 1 of Meureubo District. in West Aceh Regency.

Abstract

This study analyzes the legal protection of child victims of bullying based on Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, with a case study at Jaya Pancur Batu Private Elementary School. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies, then analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results of the study showed that bullying in the school occurred in verbal, physical, and social forms. Although Law No. 35 of 2014 already exists, its implementation is still not optimal. Teachers and school staff do not fully understand the applicable legal provisions, and the anti-bullying policy at the school is not yet effective. In addition, psychological support for victims is minimal, and the involvement of law enforcement and child protection institutions is very limited. This study recommends increasing training for teachers, strengthening anti-bullying policies, providing better psychological services, and increasing the involvement of law enforcement and child protection agencies. In conclusion, the legal protection of children who are victims of bullying in schools needs to be strengthened through a more comprehensive and collaborative approach.

Abstract

Penelitian berjudul Penelusuran Jejak Peninggalan Kolonial Belanda di Desa Lau Simomo Sebagai Sikap Sadar Sejarah Lokal Guna Mencegah Dekadensi Moral Bagi Generasi Muda di Tanah Karo dilatar belakangi terdapatnya jejak peninggalan Kolonial Belanda di Desa Lau Simomo berupa bangunan pada abad 20 dan masih berfungsi hingga saat ini. Secara teoritis dan praktis penelusuran jejak kolonial belanda di desa Lau Simomo dapat menumbuhkembangkan sikap sadar sejarah lokal guna mencegah dekadensi moral generasi muda di Tanah Karo yang semakin lama semakin meningkat dan memprihatinkan.  Penelitian Dasar ini bertujuan (1). Untuk mengetahui bagaimana latar belakang masuknya Kolonial Belanda di Desa Lau Simomo, (2) Untuk mengetahui apa dan bagaimana jejak peninggalan Kolonial Belanda di Desa Lau Simomo, (3) Untuk mengetahui bagaimana nilai dan sikap yang diperoleh dari penelusuran jejak peninggalan Kolonial Belanda di Desa Lau Simomo  dalam mencegah dekadensi moral generasi muda di Tanah Karo.  Penelitian ini adalah penelitian sejarah sosial lokal  masyarakat karo dengan menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah deskriptif  kualitatif melalui langkah- langkah; heuristic (pengumpulan data yang relevan dengan topik kajian, baik primer, maupun sekunder), verifikasi (kritik sumber eksternal dan internal), untuk  selanjutnya diinterpretasi. Langkah akhir adalah penulisan (historiografi) dilakukan secara sistematis dan komunikatif  setelah analisis data.  Sumber data diperoleh melalui Library Research atau studi pustaka, observasi, dan  wawancara kepada pihak yang relevan dengan topik kajian. Penelitian ini menargetkan luaran  wajib berupa laporan akhir penelitian, HAKI proposal dan laporan akhir penelitian, Publikasi ilmiah pada prosiding terindeks (Publish) tahun 2023 dan jurnal nasional terakreditasi Sinta dan diakhiri dengan luaran tambahan jurnal internasional.

Abstract

This research aims to explore a multicultural approach to teaching history at SMAN 14 Medan, especially in a multiethnic context. The multicultural approach here refers to the integration of various ethnic perspectives into the history curriculum to increase understanding and respect for cultural diversity. This study was conducted using qualitative methods and data collection techniques through classroom observations, interviews and document analysis. The research results show that the application of a multicultural approach to history learning at SMAN 14 Medan has helped students understand and appreciate cultural differences, as well as increasing student involvement in the learning process. Key success factors include teacher training, teaching materials relevant to multiethnic contexts, and an inclusive learning atmosphere. The implication of this research is the importance of applying a multicultural approach to history learning to enrich students' learning experiences in a multiethnic context. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of a more inclusive history curriculum in ethnically diverse schools. By understanding and appreciating cultural diversity, students are equipped with the skills necessary to interact effectively in a multiethnic environment. Teachers, as facilitators, have a key role in creating a supportive learning environment for all students, thereby creating valuable and relevant learning experiences. This research also highlights several limitations, such as the research being limited to one school and the qualitative approach used. Therefore, further research involving a number of schools and using quantitative methods can provide a broader understanding of the effectiveness of a multicultural approach in teaching history.Applying a multicultural approach to history learning not only benefits students academically but also helps prepare them to live and work in an increasingly multicultural society. Thus, inclusive and multicultural history learning is not only relevant in an educational context but is also important for building an inclusive and tolerant society in the future.

Abstract

The problem of education quality is currently also being faced by schools in Medan City, especially private high schools. The issue of education must be of great concern because through educational institutions quality human resources can be created. The quality of human resources plays a major role in determining the success of activities in various physical and non-physical development sectors. In this research, the method used is a survey, while the type of research is correlational research. The survey method is used to obtain data from certain natural places, but researchers carry out treatments in collecting data, for example by distributing questionnaires, tests, structured interviews and so on. The survey was conducted on teachers at the Medan Bodhicitta Buddhist High School. This research technique was carried out to analyze the influence of two independent variables, namely the principal's leadership (X_1), work ethic (X_2), on one dependent variable, namely teacher performance (Y). There is no significant influence of the principal's leadership and teacher work ethic on teacher performance at Bodhicitta Buddhist High School. It can be seen that the value of F_count < F_table (3.008 < 3.340) with a significance level of 0.066 is greater than 0.05. There is no significant influence between the principal's leadership on teacher performance at Bodhicitta Buddhist High School. This can be seen from the t test between the principal's leadership and teacher performance, the calculation results show t_count < t_table, namely 1.951 < 2.048 at a significance level of 0.061 and N = 31. There is a significant influence of teacher work ethic on teacher performance at Bodhicitta Buddhist High School. This can be seen from the t test between teacher work ethic and teacher performance, the calculation results show t_count > t_table, namely 2.347 > 2.048 at a significance level of 0.026 and N = 31.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that student learning success is always a problem in every subject, especially sociology in class XI IPS at SMAN 2 Solok Selatan, so that teachers must have other learning models that encourage students to work collaboratively in achieving learning goals. The purpose of this study was to identify the constraints and solutions faced by teachers in applying the make a match type of cooperative learning model in sociology class XI IPS at SMAN 2 Solok Selatan. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach, with a total of 6 informants which was carried out by means of purposive sampling. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data with data collection methods: observation, interviews and document study. Meanwhile, data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and document studies. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions.  The results showed that the teacher's constraints in applying the make a match type cooperative learning model in sociology class XI IPS at SMAN 2 Solok Selatan were difficulties in controlling the class, low student motivation, less effective time management and lack of workshops on learning models . As for the solutions made to overcome these obstacles, namely conditioning the class well so that the class atmosphere is not noisy, designing cooperative learning model activities of the make a match type, setting lesson time limits and attending workshops specifically for teachers.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) To determine the influence of the Principal's Leadership Style on the Job Satisfaction of Special School Teachers in West Aceh Regency. (2) To determine the influence of Organizational Culture on SLB Teacher Job Satisfaction in West Aceh Regency. (3) To determine the influence of Competency on the Job Satisfaction of Special School Teachers in West Aceh Regency, and (4) To determine the influence of Principal Leadership Style, Organizational Culture and Competency on the Job Satisfaction of Special School Teachers in West Aceh Regency. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, a population of 36 people, a sample of 36 people, a simple random sampling technique using Sugiyono's sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out using a Likert scale questionnaire and multiple linear regression data processing techniques. The research findings were partially obtained, (1) the school principal's leadership style did not have a positive influence on teacher job satisfaction with a coefficient of 0.484 or 48.4% (in percentage), hypothesis testing produced a calculated T value of 0.708 which was smaller than the T table value 1,690. This shows that the principal's leadership style variable has no effect on teacher job satisfaction. (2) organizational culture does not have a positive influence on teacher job satisfaction with a coefficient of 0.683 or 68.3% (in percentage). Hypothesis testing produces a calculated T value of 0.412 which is smaller than the T table value of 1.690. This shows that organizational culture variables have no effect on teacher job satisfaction. (3) Competency has a positive influence on teacher job satisfaction with a coefficient of 0.049 or 4.9% (in percentage). Hypothesis testing produces a calculated T value of 2.007 which is greater than the T table value of 1.690. This shows that the competency variable influences teacher job satisfaction. Meanwhile, simultaneously it was found that the principal's leadership style, organizational culture and competence had a positive influence on teacher job satisfaction with a constant value of 27,670. The findings in this research have practical implications, namely the principal's leadership style, organizational culture and competence have implications for teacher job satisfaction. Advice to all school principals is that the implementation of the principal's leadership style should be given more attention and carried out with full responsibility, and the output is to realize teacher job satisfaction, organizational culture also needs to be implemented as well as possible, so that a comfortable and conducive atmosphere will be created in carrying out activities organization and the realization of teacher job satisfaction, teachers are required to have adequate competence as per existing provisions, so that the target of improving the quality of learning can be achieved well, and a teacher's job satisfaction must also be owned and maintained by every teacher so that they remain enthusiastic in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. responsibility as an educator so that it is hoped that this will have an impact on the job satisfaction of special school teachers in West Aceh Regency.
