Abstract

Low knowledge and competence in implementation are thought to be the cause of the low quality of nursing care. Paul's model of critical thinking training is carried out to improve the quality of nursing care. The aim of the research is to analyze the influence of Paul's model of critical thinking training on the knowledge and competence of nurses in implementing nursing care. The research used a quasi-experimental approach with a pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design, the sample size was 33 intervention groups and 33 control groups with a purposive sampling technique. Bivariate analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests because the data distribution was not normal. The research results showed that the average knowledge in the intervention group increased by 32% and the average skills increased by 48%, while in the control group the average knowledge and skills only increased by 24%. There was a significant difference between the intervention group after training and the control group given the module (p < 0,05). There is an influence of Paul's model of critical thinking training and modules on knowledge and skills (p < 0,05). Paul's model of critical thinking training can increase nurses' knowledge and skills in implementing nursing care

Abstract

Correctional Inmates (WBP) in prisons are vulnerable to experiencing anxiety and sleep disorders due to environmental pressure. This study tested the effectiveness of hangasa juice, a herbal-based non-pharmacological intervention, in reducing anxiety and improving sleep quality in inmates at Class 2B Prison in Banjar City. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used, involving WBP as the sample. The results show that the significance of the pre-test and post-test results on anxiety levels is 0.331>0.05 and the results of sleep quality show that the significance of the pre-test and post-test results is 0.199>0.05 collected using the PSQI and SAS/SRAS questionnaires. The results showed a decrease in anxiety levels and an increase in sleep quality after the intervention, although not statistically significant. These findings indicate the potential of hangasa juice in overcoming anxiety and improving sleep quality, in line with previous research that research results show that hangasa contains flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and essential oils, which have biological activity that is good for health. Extracts from Hangasa have significant antioxidant activity. These properties are in line with the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of the essential oils contained in this plant. So this research opens up opportunities for further research with a stronger design to test its effectiveness and explore its mechanism of action.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a crucial phase in a woman's life, especially during the first pregnancy (primigravida), which is often accompanied by high anxiety. This study aims to explore the husband's role in alleviating anxiety in primigravida mothers at PMB Yuni Nur Astuti Sukoharjo. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with primigravida mothers, their husbands, and midwives. The results show that emotional and practical support from the husband plays a significant role in reducing the mother's anxiety. This support includes attention, affection, assistance with household chores, and preparation for childbirth. The husband's support also creates a sense of security, enhances the mother's readiness for childbirth, and helps the mother maintain emotional balance during pregnancy. This study emphasizes the importance of the husband's active role in improving the well-being of the mother and fetus, and encourages the husband's involvement from the early stages of pregnancy to reduce the risk of complications. Therefore, a proactive and supportive husband can have a significant positive impact on the mental and physical health of primigravida mothers.

This study involved 50 respondents, consisting of fifth and sixth-grade female students who have not experienced menarche at Wiradadi Public Elementary School, selected through the total sampling technique. The statistical test used is the Spearman rank test. The results of this study indicate that the majority of respondents are aged 11 years (48%), have good parental support (35.6%), and have high readiness (42.2%). The research results show a relationship between parental support and the readiness of adolescent girls to face menarche at Wiradadi Public Elementary School, with a moderate strength of relationship (p-value: 0.001; CC = 0.457). In conclusion, there is an average and positive relationship between parental support and the readiness of adolescent girls.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is the leading cause of maternal mortality and a serious pregnancy complication. Hypertension and obesity in pregnant women are significant risk factors for preeclampsia. This study examined the impact of obesity and high blood pressure history on preeclampsia risk and onset. This quantitative case-control study utilized secondary data from medical records at RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo. A purposive sampling technique selected 314 respondents, with 157 in the case group and 157 in the control group. Data analysis used chi-square tests. The result revealed that obesity (p-value = 0.001, OR = 8.3) and hypertension history (p-value = 0.001, OR = 13.6) were significant risk factors for preeclampsia. However, obesity and hypertension did not affect preeclampsia onset differently. These conditions can lead to endothelial dysfunction and organ damage, increasing preeclampsia risk in pregnant women.

Abstract

The transition from childhood to adulthood known as puberty is a transformative phase marked by the growth of reproductive organs, which impacts physical and mental evolution, and changes in social roles. One of the major physiological changes in the reproductive organs during this period is the onset of menstruation. At the time of menstruation until menstruation begins, women generally experience several symptoms. This is called premenstrual syndrome, which occurs cyclically 7-10 days before menstruation and disappears 4 days after menstruation. The main cause behind PMS is hormonal instability, especially the disharmony between estrogen and progesterone, and variations in serotonin levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the dominant factors that influence Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in female students at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School in Purwokerto. This type of research is quantitative research using a descriptive research method with a cross-sectional research design, because this research was conducted by means of an approach, observation or data collection at one time. The research sample involved a group of 76 female adolescents aged 15 to 18 years. Various questionnaires were used for data collection, such as SPAF, PSS, GPA, and PSQI. Logistic regression test was used for data analysis. The results showed a significant p value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a relationship between. The results showed that students with poor sleep quality had a 9 times higher risk of developing PMS than students with good sleep quality, even after considering factors such as stress levels and physical activity (p value = 0.001; OR = 9.110; 95% CI = 2.601-31.913).
