Abstract

The purpose of this study was to clarify the impact of government capital expenditure on economic growth. It used GDP growth as a substitute for economic growth. The capital expenditure was not considered aggregated, but was decomposed (that is, the components of the capital expenditure are taken into account). Capital expenditure components include capital expenditure in businesses and services, capital expenditure in social welfare, and capital expenditure on transfer. The model used FDI as a control variable. In this study, we used an auto regressive distributed lag model. The results of the regression show that while the current value of FDI is weak, capital expenditure in economic services does not affect economic growth. However, the previous value of FDI has had a significant impact on economic growth. At the same time, capital expenditure on transfer has a negative impact on economic growth. The model of the study is not auto-correlated, and as f-statistics shows, the model is important overall.

Abstract

Purpose— This study aims to examine how entrepreneurial orientation, product knowledge, and financial literacy impact the business performance of food MSMEs in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), with product innovation capability acting as an intervening factor.Design/methods/approach –  A quantitative survey was conducted with 96 MSME owners in PIK using structured questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart-PLS software to test variable relationships.Findings – The study finds that entrepreneurial orientation positively impacts product innovation capability, which in turn boosts business performance. Product knowledge also enhances product innovation, while financial literacy directly improves business performance by enabling better financial management. Research implications/limitations—   This study suggests that improving entrepreneurial orientation, product knowledge, and financial literacy through training can boost MSME performance. However, its findings are limited to MSMEs in PIK and may not be applicable elsewhere, with self-reported data possibly introducing bias.Originality/value – This research offers valuable insights into the combined effects of entrepreneurial orientation, product knowledge, and financial literacy on MSME performance, highlighting the role of product innovation in business success, particularly in competitive markets like the food industry.

Abstract

Purpose—This study examines the influence of brand image on consumer purchasing decisions for The Body Shop Body Mist products in Bandung, Indonesia. As competition in the cosmetics industry intensifies, companies must establish a strong brand image to differentiate themselves and maintain consumer loyalty. This research seeks to determine how consumers perceive The Body Shop's brand image, the key factors influencing purchasing decisions, and the extent to which brand image affects consumer behavior.Design/methods/approach – This study employs a quantitative research approach with a descriptive and causal research design. The sample consists of Body Mist consumers from The Body Shop Bandung, selected using non-probability purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression and t-test analysis in SPSS. The analysis measures the statistical significance of the relationship between brand image and purchasing decisions, following the positivist paradigm.Findings– The results confirm that brand image significantly influences purchasing decisions, with a t-value of 42.583 exceeding the t-table value of 1.660 at a 0.000 significance level. A one-unit increase in brand image raises purchase decisions by 0.344 units. Consumers in Bandung perceive The Body Shop as a high-quality, ethical, and eco-friendly brand, enhancing trust and purchase intent, consistent with studies on brand equity and consumer behavior.Research implications/limitations—This study offers insights into how brand image shapes consumer purchasing decisions in the cosmetics industry. Strengthening sustainability branding, ethical business practices, and digital marketing can enhance brand perception and engagement. However, findings are limited to The Body Shop’s Body Mist category in Bandung, reducing generalizability. Future research should compare competing brands, digital branding strategies, and customer loyalty programs.Originality/value–This research expands knowledge on brand image and consumer behavior in Indonesia’s ethical beauty market. By focusing on The Body Shop’s sustainability-driven branding, it provides empirical evidence on brand perception in emerging markets. The findings benefit academics, marketers, and business strategists aiming to refine brand positioning and competitive advantage in the cosmetics industry

Abstract

Purpose— This study aims to examine the influence of perceived ease of use, perceived risk, and consumer trust on purchase intention in cloud gaming services, specifically in the Indonesian market. As cloud gaming continues to evolve, understanding consumer behavior in this sector is essential for improving service adoption and market penetration.Design/methods/approach–This research employs a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze relationships among variables. Data were collected from cloud gaming users and processed using SmartPLS 3.3.2 to assess direct and indirect effects.Findings–The results indicate that perceived risk has a significant positive effect on purchase intention (β = 0.620, p 0.05), suggesting that consumers are still willing to subscribe despite acknowledging potential risks. Meanwhile, perceived ease of use does not have a significant impact on purchase intention (β = -0.024, p 0.05), indicating that ease of use is not a primary determinant in consumer decision-making. Additionally, consumer trust has a positive but weaker effect (β = 0.278), showing that while trust is relevant, risk perception remains the dominant factor influencing purchase decisions.Research implications/limitations—This study provides practical insights for cloud gaming providers by emphasizing the importance of risk mitigation strategies such as improving network stability, ensuring data security, and enhancing service transparency. However, this research is limited to one cloud gaming platform (Skyegrid), restricting generalizability to other providers. Future studies should explore comparative analyses across multiple cloud gaming services and consider additional variables such as pricing models, content variety, and user engagement strategies.Originality/value–This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on technology adoption and consumer behavior in digital entertainment services, particularly in the cloud gaming industry. By focusing on the Indonesian market, it provides empirical evidence on how perceived risk, ease of use, and trust shape purchase intention, offering valuable insights for academics, marketers, and business strategists seeking to enhance consumer adoption of cloud gaming services.

Abstract

Purpose— This study examines the influence of job satisfaction and work motivation on employee performance at Regency Regional General Hospital. Healthcare organizations depend on motivated employees to maintain service quality. Understanding how job satisfaction and motivation affect performance is essential for improving workforce management and efficiency.Design/methods/approach –A quantitative research method was used. The study involved 45 hospital employees, selected through saturation sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with multiple linear regression in SPSS. Reliability and validity were confirmed through Cronbach’s Alpha and normality tests.Findings–The results show that job satisfaction significantly affects employee performance (t = 2.142, p 0.05). Employees with higher satisfaction levels perform better. In contrast, work motivation does not significantly impact performance (t = 0.674, p 0.05). This suggests that job satisfaction factors such as compensation, career growth, and work environment play a more crucial role than motivation alone.Research implications/limitations—The study highlights the importance of improving job satisfaction in healthcare settings. However, as the study was conducted in one hospital, the findings may not be applicable to other sectors. Future research should compare results across different institutions and industries. Longitudinal studies could also explore how job satisfaction and motivation change over time.Originality/value–This study contributes to human resource management research by showing that job satisfaction is more influential than motivation in improving performance. It supports Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, particularly in the public healthcare sector. The findings provide insights for hospital administrators to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
