Abstract

This article discusses the influence of initiations materials, discussion and assignments in online tutorial to the final scores of Strategic Management course at Batam UTs regional center. There were at least 23% of respondents who stated their disagreement on each statement in the instrument. However, initiation materials, discussion and assignments were significantly influenced the final score. The three independent variables were able to explain 72,8% of variance in courses final score. Artikel ini membahas pengaruh inisiasi, diskusi dan tugas pada tutorial online terhadap nilai akhir semester pada matakuliah Manajemen Strategi di UPBJJ-UT Batam. Terdapat paling sedikit 23% responden menyatakan ketidak setujuan mereka sebagai jawaban terhadap pernyataan yang diberikan pada instrumen. Namun demikian, secara statistik, inisiasi, diskusi dan tugas mempengaruhi nilai akhir semester matakuliah secara signifikan. Ketiga variabel ini mampu menjelaskan varians pada nilai akhir semester sebesar 72,8%.

Abstract

This study attemps to determine impact of the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model on the improvement of deductive reasoning ability, and to describe the perceptions of teachers and students of secondary schools toward the RME model. A quasi-experiment with pretest-postest non-equivalent group as research design was employed into 2 groups of research subject: the experimental group and the control group and each was treated under RME and conventional teaching model. A number of 44 students of SMPN1 Parung and 20 students of SMP Islam Terpadu Jabon Mekar in Parung District were chosen as research subjects. Quantitative data obtained through questionnaires and written tests were analyzed using Student-t test. While qualitative information gathered through responses to personal interview and observations was analyzed using qualitative-naturalistics method. Findings reveals that learning mathematics using the RME model impacts on increasing students deductive learning ability in both schools with amount of increase is 30.7 for SMP Islam Terpadu and 44.8 for SMPN1 Parung. RME model also impacts on developing students positive attitude of students toward mathematics as seen in the number of students who liked mathematics lesson, that is 100% for SMP Islam Terpadu and 97% SMPN 1 Parung. The perceptions of teachers and students in both schools toward the RME Model are positive. Application of learning mathematics using PMR model becomes more enjoyable and students become more active.

Abstract

Theaim of the study aims is to determine: (1) the influence of Learning Motivation Against the result of Science learning; (2) the influence of Parent Guidance on Learning Outcomes; (3) The influence of Parents' Learning Motivation and Guidance simultaneously to the Science Learning Outcomes.The research method used in this study was correlational research. This research was conducted from February 2017 until June 2017. The population is all students of the SDN Dewi Sartika, Cipanas District, Cianjur Regency. The purposive sampling method was used in this study. that is class V SDN Dewi Sartika which need 95 people. Based on the significance level of 5% it was found that: 1) there is a significant correlation between learning motivation and the learning outcome of sience learning because it obtained that  r count > r table that is 2,786 > 1,660 (ρ = 0,05); 2) there is significant correlation between parent guidance with the result of the sciece learning because the result of r count > rtabel that is 4,603 > 3,09 (ρ = 0,05; 3) there is significant correlation between learning motivation and parental guidance together with the learning outcome of science learning with the value of Fcount> from F table that is 45,680 > 3,09. It is concluded that the students who have high motivation to learn and frequent guidance from thei parents will have high learning outcomes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh Motivasi Belajar terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA; (2) pengaruh Bimbingan Orang Tua terhadap Hasil Belajar Belajar; (3) pengaruh Motivasi Belajar dan Bimbingan Orang Tua secara bersama-sama terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini penelitian korelasional. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Pebruari 2017 sampai dengan bulan Juni  2017. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa SDN Dewi Sartika Kecamatan Cipanas Kabupaten Cianjur. Sampelyang digunakan adalah purposive sampling yaitu kelas V SDN Dewi Sartika yang berjumlah 95 orang. Berdasarkan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh: 1) ada hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar dengan hasil belajar IPA karena diperoleh rhitung>rtabel yaitu 2,786 > 1,660 (ρ= 0,05); 2) ada hubungan yang signifikan antara bimbingan orang tua dengan hasil belajar IPA karena diperoleh rhitung > rtabel yaitu 4,603 > 3,09 (ρ= 0,05); 3) ada hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar dan bimbingan orang tua secara bersama-sama dengan hasil belajar IPA dengan nilai Fhitung > dari F tabel yaitu 45,680 > 3,09. Kesimpulannya adalah bahwa siswa yang mempunyai motivasi belajar dan bimbingan orang tua yang tinggi mempunyai hasil belajar yang tinggi.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki tokoh pendidikan yang kehebatannya tidak kalah dengan tokoh-tokoh dunia lainnya yaitu Ki Hajar Dewantara. Beliau menjelaskan bahwa pendidikan adalah sebuah upaya dalam meningkatkan tumbuhnya budi pekerti (kekuatan batin, karakter, pikiran, intelek) dari tubuh anak, sehingga kehidupan anak didik selaras dengan dunianya. Sedangkan pembelajaran didefinisikan oleh Knowles sebagai cara pengorganisasian peserta didik untuk mencapai tujuan.Budi pekerti secara operasional merupakan suatu perilaku positif yang dilakukan melalui kebiasaan yang akan terbentuk menjadi karakter seseorang/peserta didik. Berdasarkan dua definisi tersebut tampak bahwa pendidikan, pembelajaran, budi pekerti/karakter merupakan kesatuan yang tidak dapat dipisah satu dengan lainnya. Perilaku positif yang harus dilatihkan kepada peserta didik terdiri atas banyak aspek yang satu diantaranya adalah cara berbicara. Dengan demikian, melatih kemampuan berbicara yang mengandung perilaku positif menjadi kewajiban guru mata pelajaran bahasa (Bahasa Indonesia). Keterampilan berbahasa pun tidak dapat dilatihkan secara terpisah antarsatu keterampilan dengan keterampilan berbahasa yang lain. Sebagai guru yang profesional, menyusun strategi pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yang selalu terkait dengan pendidikan karakter tidak lagi menjadi suatu beban. Sastra adalah gambaran kehidupan manusia. Sastra menjadi media yang tepat di dalam menanamkan karakter positif bagi peserta didik. Melalui guru bahasa Indonesia yang profesional akan terbentuk sebuah generasi muda yang memiliki budi pekerti luhur atau berkarakter kuat.

Abstract

The problems of classroom action research are for students of class VII A SMPN 2 Patean Kendal 2nd Semester Academic Year 2015/2016: (1) Is ELPSA learning with the game KSD can improve learning outcomes Mathematical quadrilateral material?, (2) What ELPSA learning with games KSD can increase the activity of learning mathematics quadrilateral material?, and (3) How to change the behavior of students of class VII A after following learning learning ELPSA with KSD game on material quadrilateral? The study was conducted in two cycles each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collected through observation activities, teacher journals, student questionnaire, and test. Subjects were increased activity and results study A class VII SMPN 2 Patean Kendal, amounting to 22 learners with a composition of 12 male students and 10 female student. The study was conducted in January to April 2016. The indicators in this study were (1) More than 75% of students are actively involved in the learning process; (2) The average grade formative test at least 75 to 75% of students reach the minimum KKM is 75; (3) At least 85% of students are well behaved during the learning process. The results showed that (1) increased student learning outcomes seen from the highest value, lowest value, average, and mastery learning. In the first cycle the highest grade 86 increased 14 points to 100 in the second cycle, the lowest value of 54 increased 4 points to 58 in the second cycle, the average value of 74 increased by 12 points to 86, and the learning completeness 51% increase 35% to 86%; (2) All aspects of the students in learning activities is experiencing an increase in both activity visual, oral, listening, writing, drawing, metrics, mentally, and emotionally. The conclusions of this Class Action Research is a learning game ELPSA with KSD on quadrilateral materials can improve learning outcomes and activities as well as change the behavior of students of class VII A SMPN 2 Patean Kendal 2nd Semester Academic Year 2015/2016. Rumusan masalah dalam Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di SMP2 kelas VII A tahunajaran 2015/2016 adalah (1) Apakah pembelajaran ELPSA dengan permainan KSD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Matematika materi segiempat Semester 2 Tahun Pelajaran?, (2) Apakah pembelajaran ELPSAdengan permainan KSD dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar Matematika materi segiempat?, dan (3) Bagaimana perubahan perilaku siswa Semester 2 setelah mengikuti pembelajaran pembelajaran ELPSA dengan permainan KSD pada materi segiempat? Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang  terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data, melalui pengamatan, jurnal guru, angket siswa, dan tes. Subjek penelitian adalah peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII A SMPN 2 Patean Kendal yang berjumlah 22 siswa dengan komposisi 12 siswa putra dan 10 siswa putri. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai dengan April 2016. Indikator dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Lebih dari 75% siswa terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran; (2) Rata-rata nilai tes formatif minimal 75 dengan 75% siswa mencapai batas minimal KKM yaitu 75; (3) Minimal 85% siswa berperilaku baik selama mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) hasil belajar siswa meningkat dilihat dari nilai tertinggi, nilai terendah, rata-rata, dan ketuntasan belajar. Pada Siklus I nilai tertinggi 86 meningkat 14 point menjadi 100 pada Siklus II, nilai terendah 54 meningkat 4 point menjadi 58 pada Siklus II, rata-rata nilai 74 meningkat 12 point menjadi 86, dan ketuntasan belajar 51% meningkat 35% menjadi 86%.; (2) Semua aspek aktivitas siswa dalam belajar mengalami peningkatan baik aktivitas visual, oral, mendengarkan, menulis, mengambar, metrik, mental, maupun emosional. Simpulannya adalah pembelajaran ELPSA dengan permainan KSD pada materi segiempat dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas serta mengubah perilaku siswa.

Abstract

Integrated thematic learning is learning that uses the theme to associate some subjects that can provide meaningful experiences and provide benefits for students. This study aims to determine the perception of lower grade elementary school teachers towards the implementation of thematic learning in learning; constraints faced by teachers in developing lesson plans, selecting media, and choose appropriate learning methods that can improve student learning outcomes. This study used a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques such as questionnaires, observation, interviews, documentation, which is used to study the problems in the thematic learning in low-grade elementary school. These results indicate that teachers' understanding and knowledge of thematic learning is good enough. Integrated learning is an instructional model that is most suitable for low-grade primary school students, because the thematic learning / integrated, the child may be invited to participate actively in exploring the topics or events. The difficulty is in the preparation and implementation of the lesson plan is still encountering many obstacles, especially in the search for methods and media to suit all themes, while determining the success of the measuring instrument thematic learning (learning evaluation) that can accommodate some of the materials that are combined rather difficult to formulate. The way out is taken of teachers in the face of difficulties develop thematic learning circumvented by increasing discussions with colleagues and multiply by searching reference sources on the internet or other web. Pembelajaran tematik adalah pembelajaran terpadu yang menggunakan tema untuk mengaitkan beberapa mata pelajaran sehingga dapat memberikan pengalaman yang bermakna serta memberikan keuntungan bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi guru SD kelas rendah terhadap penerapan pembelajaran tematik dalam pembelajaran; kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam mengembangkan RPP, memilih media, dan memilih metode pembelajaran yang tepat sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuisioner, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, yang digunakan untuk mengkaji permasalahan dalam pembelajaran tematik di kelas rendah SD. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pemahaman dan pengetahuan guru tentang pembelajaran tematik sudah cukup baik. Pembelajaran terpadu merupakan suatu model pembelajaran yang paling sesuai untuk siswa SD kelas rendah, karena dalam pembelajaran tematik/terpadu, anak dapat diajak berpartisipasi aktif dalam mengeksplorasi topik atau kejadian. Kesulitannya adalah dalam penyusunan dan pengimplementasian rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran masih menemui kendala terutama dalam mencari metode dan media yang sesuai dengan semua tema, sementara penentuan alat ukur keberhasilan pembelajaran tematik (evaluasi pembelajaran) yang bisa mengakomodir beberapa materi yang digabungkan agak sulit untuk dirumuskan. Jalan keluar yang diambil guru dalam menghadapi berbagai kesulitan mengembangkan pembelajaran tematik disiasati dengan memperbanyak diskusi dengan teman sejawat dan memperbanyak referensi dengan mencari sumber di internet atau web lainnya.

Abstract

This study was aimed to develop teaching materials about chemical reaction rate which covered materials adapted to A-Level High School students of grade XI in Pioneer International Standard High School (RSMA-BI). The developmental research was adopting the instructional development model 4D which include four stages of development, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Instructional materials were written in English consist of seven topics titled: Reaction Rate Concept, The Exchange's Expressions, Rate Law and Reaction Order, Experimental Determination of a Rate Law, Reaction Mechanism, Theories of Reaction Rate, Factors Affecting Reaction Rate. Results of content validation from content experts obtained the average score of 3. 56 of 14 range of scores which means valid / good / decent. Test limited to high school students of RSBI obtained an average score of 3.35 (valid / good / decent). The results of the use of teaching materials obtained a score of 77.8 which is above the minimal passing grade (75). Therefore it can be concluded that the materials were feasible to be used in the classroom.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar laju reaksi dengan cakupan materi yang disesuaikan dengan A-Level untuk siswa kelas XI Rintisan Sekolah Menengah Atas Bertaraf Internasional (RSMA-BI. Rancangan penelitian pengembangan mengadaptasi model pengembangan bahan ajar Model 4D yang meliputi empat tahap pengembangan, yaitu define, design, develop dan disseminate. Produk pengembangan adalah bahan ajar kimia RSMA-BI kelas XI materi laju reaksi yang ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual. Bahan ajar terdiri atas empat bagian utama yaitu pendahuluan, materi, evaluasi dan penutup. Materi tersusun atas tujuh sub materi yaitu Reaction Rate Concept, The Rates Expressions, Rate Law and Reaction Order, Experimental Determination of a Rate Law, Reaction Mechanism, Theories of Reaction Rate, Factors Affecting Reaction Rate. Hasil validasi isi dari ahli materi diperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,56 dari rentang skor 1-4 dengan kriteria valid/baik/layak. Hasil uji terbatas pada siswa SMA RSBI diperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,35 dari rentang skor 1-4 dengan kriteria valid/baik/layak. Hasil uji penggunaan bahan ajar diperoleh skor sebesar 77,8. Skor ini diatas SKM (Skor Kelulusan Minimal) yaitu 75 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar telah layak dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the creative thinking skills of junior high school students based on mathematics anxiety and gender. Aspects of creative thinking skills used in this study are fluency, flexibility, and novelty. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The instruments used were open-ended questions consisting of algebra and geometry questions, mathematics anxiety questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The study was conducted in class IX E of SMPI Al Azhar 12 Rawamangun Jakarta. The subject of this study consisted of four students, they are male student with low mathematics anxiety, female student with low mathematics anxiety, male student with medium mathematics anxiety, and female student with medium mathematics anxiety. The results of the mathematics anxiety questionnaire showed that none of the students in class IX E had high math anxiety. There are differences in the fulfillment of aspects of creative thinking in terms of differences in mathematics anxiety and gender levels. Students with low math anxiety fulfill aspects of fluency, flexibility, and novelty in algebra and geometry questions. Students with medium math anxiety fulfill aspects of fluency and flexibility both in algebra and geometry questions. Female students fulfill aspects of fluency, flexibility, and novelty both in algebra and geometry questions. Male students fulfill aspects of fluency and flexibility in algebra questions, while in geometry questions the aspects that are fulfilled are fluency, flexibility, and novelty.

Abstract

The article draws on research that aims to develop a model of the development of pre-reading-writing ability of a character-based education in kindergarten. The study was used the Research and Development method involving teachers and children at three kindergartens in Jombang. The procedure consists of two phases study, the preliminary studies and model development. Data collected by observation, interviews, documentation, questioner techniques, validation testing experts, and the results are analyzed with qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that teachers require manual and development model's to pre-reading-writing ability of a character-based, as well as scenario development activity. The model of development gives the possibility for children to develop the ability to recognize text and pre-reading-writing through story. Development model cantains character values on planning, include: objectives, materials, and activities, as well as the implementation, include: introduction, core, and closing activities. Artikel ini disusun berdasarkan penelitian yang bertujuan mengembangkan model pengembangan kemampuan pra-membaca-menulis berbasis pendidikan karakter di TK. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian pengembangan melibatkan guru-guru dan anak-anak di tiga TK Kabupaten Jombang. Prosedur penelitian terdiri atas dua tahap, yakni studi pendahuluan dan pengembangan model. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, kuesioner dan uji validasi pakar, serta hasilnya dianalisis dengan teknik analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru membutuhkan panduan dan model pengembangan kemampuan pra-membaca-menulis berbasis karakter, serta skenario kegiatan pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang dihasilkan memungkinkan anak mengenal tulisan dan mengembangkan kemampuan pra-membaca-menulis melalui cerita. Model pengembangan memuat nilai karakter pada komponen perencanaan, meliputi: tujuan, materi, dan kegiatan, serta pada pelaksanaan meliputi: pendahuluan, inti, dan penutup.

Abstract

Improving educational quality is a continous procceses done by teachers. One of the strategy to improve the quality is to improve substance or content delivery. This study attempt to elaborate the effect of using overhead projector (OHP) media in lecturing method for Civic and Bahasa Indonesia for high school students. Experiment approach was used to answer research questions. Factorial design was selected to reveal the research outcomes. The result showed that there was significant impact of using OHP to support learning process on Civic and Bahasa Indonesia.
