Abstract

Vocational High Schools (VHS) prepare their students to be ready to work in their fields after graduation. In this globalization era, understanding English will be beneficial and a plus point for the students when looking for a job. Thus, this descriptive qualitative research aimed to explore the perceptions of pharmaceutical VHS students regarding the significance of English for their future careers. The participants, consisting of eight twelfth-grade students who had high English scores and majored in Industrial Pharmacy, were interviewed and the findings revealed that they believed that English proficiency was crucial for their future careers as it helps in accessing international job opportunities and resources, benefiting from professional development and in-house training, and overcoming language barriers in a globalized world. Thus, it is suggested that the English curriculum should be tailored to meet the specific language needs of the pharmaceutical field and future research could explore the expectations of pharmaceutical industry employers regarding the English skills of job applicants.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the importance of optimizing higher-order thinking Skills (HOTS) in Islamic education towards the Society 5.0 era. One of the things behind this needs to be studied because several Islamic educational institutions still apply conservative learning methods which tend to only focus on memorization and repetition of concepts, not encouraging students to think critically and creatively. The method used in preparing this article is Library Research. The results of this research show that the Society 5.0 Era is characterized by a rapid and complex technological revolution, where humans play a major role in facing global challenges and opportunities. Therefore, Islamic education must adapt and improve human quality through the application of HOTS. HOTS is a high-level thinking ability that includes analysis, evaluation, and creation. This ability is needed in facing complex problems and religious challenges in the modern era. Several HOTS-oriented Islamic education learning models have been proposed, such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and Flipped Classroom. These models require students to be active in solving problems and applying knowledge in real-life situations so that they can develop HOTS effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning learning model on students' cooperative abilities and physics learning outcomes in the Parabolic Motion with Vector Analysis material at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Jambi City. This research is a Quasi-Experimental research and One Group Pretest-Posttest research design, so that the results of the treatment can be known more accurately because they can compare the situation before being given treatment and after being given treatment. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and tests. The subjects in this research were all students of class XI 1 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Jambi City. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling. Data processing and analysis techniques were carried out quantitatively using the paired t-test. The results of this research show that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning model has an effect on students' cooperative abilities and physics learning outcomes with t- test results for both variables of 0,000 and N-Gain test results of 0,49 and 0,64.

Abstract

This study was aimed at investigating whether there is a significant influence between extrovert and introvert students in Verbal Peer Review ability. This study belongs to ex post facto design with a quantitative approach. For the data collection, there were questionnaires and speaking tests as the instruments. The questionnaire was adapted from the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) which categorized the students into introvert and extrovert. The population of this study was the students of XI MIPA 2 at SMAN 1 Bone with a total of 34 students, with a sample of 20 students who had been assigned purposive sampling technique of the population. The result found that there were 13 extroverts, 5 ambivalent, and 16 introverts. The result of the peer review test is the extrovert students' achievement was 16,6 and the introvert students' achievement was 8,6 as the average for their speaking ability. Both the questionnaire and peer review test results were then analyzed by using Pearson Correlation. It found out the correlation was significant at the 0.01 level. Meanwhile, the basic determination of Pearson Correlation was if the Sig. < 0,05 so the variables were correlated. Based on the result of the study, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. In conclusion, there is a significant influence of students' personalities on the peer review ability of XI MIPA 2 at SMAN 1 Bone.

Abstract

Evaluation is a fundamental component in the teaching and learning process, serving as a diagnostic tool to assess the effectiveness of educational activities. This qualitative descriptive study investigates the implementation of learning evaluation aligned with the 2013 Curriculum in Grade X at SMKN 4 Bone, Indonesia. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving key educational stakeholders including the principal, vice principal for curriculum, and homeroom teachers. The findings reveal that the evaluation process encompassed key stages: planning, implementation, data processing, and reporting. Notably, SMKN 4 Bone also integrated continuous monitoring and application of evaluation outcomes dimensions that extend beyond conventional evaluation theory. Learning evaluation at this school involved cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, assessed through a range of instruments such as written tests, oral assessments, assignments, observations, and performance-based evaluations. While the evaluative procedures largely reflect the theoretical framework, some areas particularly the interpretation and integration of affective and spiritual assessment require further refinement. This study underscores the importance of comprehensive, reflective evaluation systems for curriculum implementation and recommends enhanced teacher capacity-building in evaluation literacy.

Abstract

This study explores the role of student recruitment management in enhancing the quality of educational institutions, with a case study conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Awangpone, Indonesia. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through structured interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that the recruitment process is systematically managed through four key phases: planning, organizing, implementation, and monitoring. The effectiveness of these processes significantly contributes to institutional improvement, particularly in student intake quality. Moreover, the study identifies several institutional quality drivers, including leadership commitment to quality, continuous teacher training, internal organizational support, effective communication, recognition and rewards, and routine evaluation practices. The results suggest that structured recruitment management not only streamlines student admission but also serves as a strategic tool to elevate educational quality. These findings have implications for school management practices in similar educational contexts.
