Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has the third-largest number of volcanoes in the world. Several volcanoes are still active today. This places Indonesia prone to disasters from the volcano. One of the volcanic activities is characterized by the release of poisonous gases such as CO2. At a certain threshold, this poisonous gas can kill living things. This research has designed a gas-producing engine as a replica of volcanic gas. This machine is very supportive of the development of volcanic gas research on a laboratory scale because it has the advantage of being lighter, simpler construction, cheaper and portable machine construction process. The gas produced by the machine is tested using the Dragger X-am 7000. , CO2, H2S, SO2, and CO. The results were obtained for 60 seconds of starting the engine, namely CH4 2.0% LEL, CO2 1.6% Vol, H2S 4.3 ppm, SO2 1.0 ppm, and CO 271 ppm.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design the monitoring system to observe the growth of Chili plant that is integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT) with the power source coming from solar panels. Important variables to support plant growth are soil moisture, ambient temperature as well as the right time and duration of watering. Measurement of light intensity is carried out by the BH1750 sensor. The measurement results of the sensor will be displayed on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and can be accessed via an Android-based application. The result of testing the light intensity monitoring tools on chili plants showed good accuracy. The monitoring system that has been designed is equipped LCD that show variable result.

Abstract

Iterative reconstruction can optimize radiation dose and improve image quality on CT scan. This research method is quantitative analytic with the analysis of the results of the head CT examination parameters associated with image quality to changes in variations of 80 kV, 100 kV, 120 kV with the use of iterative reconstruction. Image quality measurements are the Hounsfield Unit (HU) value, standard deviation, and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) using Radiant Viewers. Effective dose measurement using the Dose Length Product (DLP). Then perform the Kruskal Wallis test to determine the difference in the SNR value to tube tension and Iterative Reconstruction using IBM SPSS version 24. The image quality results of the HU value increase due to changes in the kV value, but the value does not change significantly when the iDose changes, for standard deviation experiences decrease due to changes in kV, but the value of the value does not experience a significant change at the time of change in iDose, while SNR increases due to changes in kV value and changes in iDose. The percentage ratio of the effective dose in the use of standard kV with 80 kV decreased radiation dose by 62%, while at 100 kV there was a decrease of 25%, and the use of 120 kV experienced an increase of 25%. The results of the Kruskal Wallis test p-value <0.001, therefore it can be concluded that there is a difference in the SNR image quality at each change in iDose and kV parameters.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of sound attenuation of Styrofoam material. This research is using a noise meter application Decibel X: dB Sound Level Meter and a sound generator as a sound source. Then Styrofoam as an acoustic material with a thickness of 1 cm; 1.5 cm; 2 cm; 2.5 cm ; 3 cm; 3.5 cm and 4 cm. The average absorption coefficient obtained in this study with a material thickness of 1 cm is 0.023. Then the average absorption coefficient at a thickness of 1.5 cm is 0.031. While the average absorption coefficient at a material thickness of 2 cm is 0.040. Furthermore, the average sound absorption coefficient at a thickness of 2.5 cm and 3 cm has the same value, namely 0.039. Then, the average sound absorption coefficient at a thickness of 3.5 cm and 4 cm also has the same value, which is 0.038. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that sound absorption at frequencies below 1000 Hz occurs significant sound absorption. At frequencies of 200 Hz, 400 Hz, 600 Hz and 800 Hz, the average sound absorption increases from 1 cm to 3.5 cm of Styrofoam thickness. While the thickness of Styrofoam 4 cm on average did not show a significant increase in sound absorption. Styrofoam thickness of 4 cm can effectively absorb sound at a frequency of 1000 Hz only.
