Abstract

Textbooks are one of the important tools in the world of education. Textbook lessons connect knowledge content in learning and used to determine how the learning process in the classroom. This study analyzes the text book “Senang Belajar Matematika” for grade V on the material about speed and discharge through contextual aspects of the situation/competence (contextual features) of the questions contained in it. The contextual feature’s categories are intra-mathematical context (C1), realistic context (C2), and authentic context (C3). The method used in this study is the method of content analysis in the textbooks in the study. Techniques and procedures of data analysis in this research is descriptive analysis technique. There are two analyzes used, namely horizontal and vertical analysis. The results showed that the book has a page size of 31.35 cm long and 22.65 cm wide with 266 pages. The contents of this book include 5 material items or chapters with approximately 10 kinds of activities in each chapter. Based on the Contextual Features analysis, it can be seen that of the 321 questions contained in the book “Senang Belajar Matematika” class V, the speed and discharge material is dominated by questions and assignments with the intra-mathematical category (C1) which has a total of 193 questions with a percentage of 60%, then the questions are categorized as realistic. (C2) as many as 120 with a percentage of 37%, and authentic category questions (C3) as many as 8 with a percentage of 3%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena ditemukan masih banyak orang tua yang kurang menyadari arti pentingnya pendampingan dalam proses belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendampingan orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain analisis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah angket pendampingan orang tua yang sudah dilakukan pengujian validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Sedangkan dokumentasi berupa hasil gambar fasilitas belajar, pendampingan anak dalam proses belajar dan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu uji prasyarat analisis menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji linieritas. Uji normalitas menggunakan kolmograv smirnov dengan hasil perhitungan 0,20 dan uji linieritas 0,77. Uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana dengan uji t dengan taraf signifikan 0,05. Berdasarkan perhitungan untuk uji hipotesis, pengaruh pendampingan orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar memberikan sumbangan sebesar 79,7% dengan = 13,717 dan nilai signifikansi 0,00 0,05 berarti hipotesis penelitian diterima. Sedangkan sumbangan sebesar 20,3% dipengaruhi variabel lain diluar penelitian ini. Dengan demikian terdapat pengaruh pendampingan orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas V SDN 1 Sukamulia dimasa pandemi covid-19 Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021.

Abstract

One aspect that needs to be considered in writing narrative texts is grammar. Mastery of grammar, for language learners, is very important especially in writing narrative texts. One of the web applications that can help academics and language learners, in checking language, especially grammar in narrative text writing, is the automatic grammar checker. An automatic grammar checker is a web application that can check the grammar in a written work. This research was to determine student perceptions of Grammarly application in checking grammar in writing narrative texts. The approach used to describe the focus of this research is a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in July 2019. The population of this research was the third-semester students of English Education the Department, STKIP YPUP Makassar, in the 2018/2019 school year. The total number of the population is 90 students. To get the research sample, the researcher used the purposive sampling technique. The research sample amounted to 10 people. Data collection techniques used in this research are technical tests and filling out questionnaires. The reason of researcher used technical tests and filling out questionnaires so that data more representative, valid, and accurate. There are two questionnaires used by the researcher in this research, namely the first open-ended questions and the second closed question. After the data was collected, the researcher then analyzed the data. The process of data analysis: checked and read the result of questionnaires, analyzed and reduced questionnaire data descriptive, and finally describe data and information in the form of the final report on the research result In this research, it was found that students had a positive perception of using the Grammarly application to check grammar in writing narrative texts. The respondents said that they strongly agree to use the Grammarly application in checking grammar in their narrative text writing. They are very satisfied with the quality of this application in checking the grammar in their writing.

Abstract

Abstract Education is related to learning and the implementation of learning is always related to learning methods. The learning method is an ordinary thing that is always discussed and even some people consider it to be an unimportant issue. This study aims to describe the use of peer tutoring methods in helping elementary school students with low abilities. This research uses literature study method. The data collection is done by tracing various relevant literatures. Data were analyzed using descriptive and comparative methods. The results of the study show that the use of peer tutoring methods can improve the ability of elementary school students. The implementation steps are 1) to recruit students with good abilities; 2) capture low-ability students; 3) the formation of heterogeneous groups; 4) determine the material for each group; 4) tutor guidance; 5) determining the schedule of activities; 6) checking the results of peer tutoring activities; 7) follow-up.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the challenges and obstacles faced by elementary school classroom teachers in implementing the remote learning process and the efforts that classroom teachers can take to continue to meet the learning needs of elementary school students in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is literature study by utilizing secondary data from previous research from scientific articles related to the topic being studied. The data were analyzed qualitatively by adopting the data analysis model from Miles and Hubermann. The results showed that distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic experienced various obstacles, especially if it was based on online learning. These obstacles are in the form of technological inequality, digital competence, socio-economic conditions, difficulties in monitoring and evaluation as well as the increasing workload of teachers converting material into electronic form. However, there are several efforts made by elementary school teachers to overcome the learning difficulties of their students. In general, these solutions are divided into two broad groups, namely offline and semi-online. Offline is carried out with home visits / door to door, limited face-to-face learning according to schedule by implementing strict health protocols, and taking assignments to school so that they can still control student learning progress. Semi-online can be done by using the instant messaging application WhatsApp and the use of delayed video learning.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum was born as an answer to the weaknesses and shortcomings of the 2006 KTSP curriculum which is directed to prepare students to have the ability to live as individuals and citizens who are faithful, productive, creative, innovative, and affective and able to contribute to the life of society, nation, state, and world civilization. And the purpose of this study is to determine the problems of implementing the 2013 curriculum in Manggarai region, NTT. This research is a type of qualitative research conducted at educational institutions from elementary to high school levels in Manggarai region, NTT. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentary studies. The data analysis technique refers to the data analysis model used by B. Mathew Miles and A. Michael Huberman consisting of three activities, namely; data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion / verification. The results showed that there were several opportunities for the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in Manggarai region, NTT, namely the thematic-integrative approach, the scientific approach and authentic assessment. While the challenges are a thematic approach based on local culture, challenges in making lesson plans, challenges in implementing learning and challenges in making assessments.

Abstract

Minangkabau culture is rich with several mathematical concepts. These mathematical concepts are contained in Minangkabau culture such as custom houses, custom clothes, and traditional food. These mathematical concepts will make a positive contribution for learning mathematics. The purpose of this research is to determine geometric concepts in the form of two dimentional figure that can be seen from custom houses, custom clothes, and traditional food. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. As an initial stage of research, a literature study is conducted first to determine the concept of geometry in mathematics learning. The results of this research are in the form of two dimentional figure of geometry concepts found in Minangkabau culture such as squares, rectangles, parallelogram, trapezoid, rhombus and circle. The concept of geometry in two dimentional figure will help learning two dimentional figure in Primary Schools.

Abstract

Development of Mathematics Teaching Materials Project Based Learning (PjBL) Elementary School Students. This research is development research. This study aims to develop mathematics teaching materials based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) for elementary school students with cube and cuboid building materials. This development product contains material on the concept of cube and cuboid space using the Sugiyono development model which includes: (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, (6) product trials, (7) product revisions, (8) usage trials, (9) final product refinement. The development model is used to develop mathematics teaching materials for students with slight modifications. Based on the results of the feasibility assessment of the validators consisting of material experts, linguists, and media experts, it can be seen that the development product is very feasible to use. In addition, the results of the attractiveness assessment in the form of responses from teachers and also responses from students through questionnaires can be obtained that the product development is also very interesting. From these results, it shows that the mathematics teaching materials developed based on Project Based Learning on the material of building cubes and cuboid for elementary school students are feasible to use. Abstract

Online learning is one of the biggest innovations in the world of education in the pandemic era. All levels of education have implemented online learning, including in this case elementary school. This study aims to determine the perceptions of students, teachers, and parents in the application of online learning in elementary schools. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection through questionnaires and interviews. The informants in this study were thirty-five elementary school students, one teacher, and four parents. The research was conducted at one of the elementary schools in the East Lombok district. The results of the study indicate that most students do not like online learning, many students have difficulty in learning online, lack focus in learning, cannot understand the subject matter well, and find it difficult to do assignments. In the perspective of online learning, teachers are considered to have many obstacles, one of the most severe obstacles is the use of technology and difficulties in explaining the subject matter to students properly. Parents' perceptions of online learning include online learning that costs more and adds to the burden on parents, especially when they have to help students do schoolwork at home. Student learning activities in online learning are less than optimal, students spend more time playing than studying. Based on the results of this study, shows that innovation in learning during a pandemic has many challenges. Serious intervention is needed to change the way all stakeholders think about online learning.

Abstract

During the Covid 19 pandemic, many elementary schools in the Langke Rembong sub-district did not hold face-to-face learning. Fulfilling the rights of students to receive education services during the COVID-19 emergency, the learning process is carried out through the Learning from Home (BDR) process. When learning from home, parents are expected to take part and be active in assisting their children. This study aims to determine the roles and obstacles faced by parents in assisting children during learning from home. The research subjects were parents of elementary school students in Langke Rembong District, Manggarai. The method used to obtain information is a questionnaire and interviews. The results of the study show: (a) While children are learning from home, the roles that are displayed by parents include; replace the role of teachers in schools; fulfilling children's learning facilities; encouraging children to follow online learning from school, and providing direction to children. (b) Many difficulties experienced by parents in mentoring include: lack of parental knowledge regarding teaching materials for elementary school children; parent's educational background; low parental income; busy parents at work; and variations in the way parents accompany their children's learning.
