Abstract

Writing is a scientific identity of the intellectuals. In academic sphere, the intellectuals do not only internalize ideas but also they should externalize ideas in writing. By writing, an intellectual person can manifest his/her ideas. Hence, writing is an inherent culture or habit. The inherence of writing habit makes university responsible for events around the world. As such, a good academic writing covers standard criterion that a writer needs to maintain and fulfill.

Abstract

Communication anxiety is commonly experienced by human being. Anxiety is the emotion characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil, often by nervous behavior. Itis, however, a threat which impedes and affects individuals in building quality of communication with others. Anxiety may also occur to a personin interpersonal communication. Therefore, it should be well treated by encouraging the students’ bravery in communication. Student-centered learning (SCL) is a cooperative learning which emphasizes the students’ participation and engagement in learning process. By this method, the learners are able to develop their character and self-efficacy in performing public communication.

Abstract

As it is generally known that a teacher is a key element who determines success of teaching-learning enterprises. A qualified education is mostly affected by a qualified teacher. Therefore, teachers are required to develop self-quality. Teacher Forum (MGMP) and Teacher Group Work (KKG) are the vessels for them to enhance the quality. This writing seeks to discuss the implementation of those existing programs in the attempt to the development of teacher-self quality.

Abstract

Cassava is a plant that has many benefits, one of which is the staple food after rice. But unfortunately the cassava maximum potential has not been fully utilized, one of them is the cassava peel. Regarding the production of cassava in Indonesia reached 21 million tons in 2015 with the peel has its share of 20% of each kilogram of cassava roots, then there are approximately 4 million tons of cassava peel turns into waste. The aims of this community service programs is to provide knowledge and training to communities, how to process the waste of cassava peel into healthy and safe groceries to eat. The method used in this activity is made in two phases: first is to identify problems and socializing in the target area as well as the implementation stages of how to processing the waste of cassava peel iinto healthy groceries. After processing the results obtained are cassava peel waste can be processed into snacks that are healthy and safe for human consumption.

Abstract

This writing explores the role of school supervisor in improving teachers’ competence in the implementation of 2013 curriculum. The implementation of 2013 curriculum is not free from any problem. Lack of teachers’ knowledge and experience is one of the obstaclesin implementing 2013 curriculum. Therefore, this situation requires the role of school supervisor in assisting and guiding teachers in classrooms.

Abstract

Students with special needs who attend general elementary schools often experience difficulties in following the lessons and become schools for teachers when teaching in the absence of a companion teacher. This study aims to analyze the implementation of inclusive education for children with special needs and the management of procurement and coaching of educational personnel in primary schools. The research method uses a case study approach. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The principal, teacher / homeroom teacher as research subjects. The results obtained from the research show that: inclusive education for children with special needs in elementary schools in Melawi Regency is not according to the proper instructions, from supporting facilities, provision of accompanying teachers and coaching education staff for children with special needs (ABK). The provision of accompanying teachers and general special schools (SLB) can help children with special needs continue to attend school, therefore there needs to be concern from the central or local government, one of which is the Melawi Regency Education office so that the implementation of inclusive education can be implemented and in accordance with the procedures for implementing inclusive education for children with special needs in Melawi Regency. Abstract

This article is motivated by the issue of not embracing the HOTS dimension in the praxis of learning and the teacher's misperception about the HOTS concept. Therefore, this article aims to explined the HOTS dimension in the praxis of learning and to explained the meaning of HOTS concepts. However, the HOTS theme discussed in this article is focused on the language field. This article was compiled using reading and recording techniques by critically the views of various literary materials. The results of the study show that HOTS-based language learning contained in harmony with modern literacy competencies in the form of the ability to connect text and context and reflect critically on the relationship between text and context.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce simple media products that are easy to apply in classroom learning, made in the form of flashcards. Flashcard media can be used for both classical and individual learning for elementary school students, to determine (1) the validity and feasibility of the media including pictures, materials and language; (2) practicality and effectiveness in using Flashcard media, especially Civics subjects in the material of Instilling the Spirit of Nationalism for Grade V students of SDN Pacarkeling VI Surabaya. This research was conducted at SDN Pacarkeling VI Surabaya in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The development research method adopted the ADDIE model with several stages, namely the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Guidelines for product feasibility assessment using data analysis techniques from material experts get a score of 96% and fall into the appropriate criteria, from media experts get a score of 90% and fall into the feasible criteria, and in terms of language shows a score of 97.5% which is in the good category. Abstract

Argument as a type of rhetoric of language is absolutely necessary in constructing, maintaining, and concluding ideas. With the existence of a solid argument construction in the body of scientific articles, the validity and reliability of facts, data, and inferences can be arguably justified. In this regard, this study aims to describe the argumentative paragraph model of the argumentative paragraphs in Sinta indexed journal articles for the exact education family. In collecting data, the observation method is used. The listening method is applied through reading and note-taking techniques. In data analysis, researchers made use of content analysis methods. Through data analysis, it was found that in the exact science education Sinta indexed journal there are three argument models, namely (1) verbal classification arguments, (2) rules arguments, and (3) witness arguments. The verbal classification argument model found includes (1) fact / perception arguments and (2) consequence arguments. The rule argument model found consists of (1) public opinion arguments, (2) personal opinion arguments, and (4) causal relationship arguments. Meanwhile, the findings of the witness argument model are (1) expert opinion argument, (2) analogy argument, and (3) fact-hypothesis argument. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Douglas Walton’s argument models have not been fully accommodated in Sinta indexed journal articles for the exact education family. The authors of the articles are advised to continue to improve their publications by utilizing Walton's argument models in the hope that the resulting articles can be justified argumentatively-scientifically.

Abstract

Teachers tend to have less knowledge in the conceptualization of multicultural education. This study aims to determine teacher perceptions of religion-based multicultural education in integrated Islamic elementary school Iqra, Serang city. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method by collecting data through observation and interviews with teachers at the Islamic elementary school integrated Iqra, Serang city. In this study, it is revealed that multicultural education is implemented integrated in several subjects such as PPKn and Indonesian. This study recommends that multicultural education should be part of the curriculum in education. Teachers need to be given training on the implementation of multicultural education to provide teachers with an understanding of the practice of multicultural education in religion-based schools.
