Coastal communities are still friendly with the nickname "all shortcomings". This can happen because of several factors that cause coastal communities to be less empowered in terms of social, political and economic. One of the contributing factors is the limited insight that the community has in processing and maximizing the benefits of sea catches. This research aims to analyze the Strategy of Empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises for Processed Seafood in Bulak District, Surabaya City. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection is carried out with interview techniques, observations and documentation. The research results show that the empowerment strategy for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of processed sea products craftsmen in Bulak District based on five dimensions consisting of strategy as a plan, strategy as an activity, strategy as an instrument, strategy as a system and strategy as a mindset has been implemented by the Surabaya City Small and Medium Business Cooperative Service and Trade together with the People's Welfare and Economy of Bulak District through coaching carried out through activity program planning, training, socialization, technical guidance, monitoring and evaluation to increase independence, skills, and competitiveness as well as providing business capital assistance and marketing processes. Abstract

This research aims to find out the implementation of digital identity for urbanites in Kenjeran sub-district because so far urbanites in Kenjeran sub-district do not have time to take care of population administration due to their work. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach and is analyzed using the theory of Van Meter and Van Horn which states that policy implementation performance is influenced by six variables including policy standards and objectives, resources, characteristics of implementing organizations, attitudes of implementers, and the social, economic, and political environment. This research was conducted in Kenjeran Sub-district because Kenjeran Sub-district in 2023 has the largest number of urbanites in Surabaya City. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of digital identity for urbanites in Kenjeran sub-district has gone well. Urbanites in Kenjeran sub-district can directly activate digital identity in Kenjeran sub-district with the condition that they are 17 years old and above and have recorded E-KTP and bring a physical KTP and cellphone. However, the implementation of digital identity in kenjeran sub-district has obstacles in the variable standards and target activities regarding the internal application of population identity. The variable of communication is less comprehensive so that many urbanites do not know about digital identity, and the variable of social, economic, and political environment in Kenjeran sub-district is still middle to lower class so that many people are not able to operate technology properly and are not able to have tools to support the implementation of digital identity

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of three significant economic crises—the Eurozone Debt Crisis (2010-2012), the COVID-19 Pandemic (2020-2021), and the Post-Pandemic Economic Recovery (2021-2022)—on the performance of conventional and Islamic banks in Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries. Using a dataset of 4,381 observations from 34 OIC countries, panel regression techniques are employed to evaluate the influence of these crises on key financial performance metrics: Return on Shareholders' Funds (ROSF), Profit Margin (PM), Return on Total Assets (ROA), Current Ratio (CR), and Solvency Ratio (SR). The analysis reveals that while the Eurozone Debt Crisis did not significantly affect bank performance, the COVID-19 pandemic led to a notable decline in profitability but an improvement in liquidity. The results highlight that during the COVID-19 pandemic, banks faced substantial challenges in maintaining profitability, as evidenced by the significant decrease in PM. However, the improvement in CR suggests that banks enhanced their liquidity management strategies to cope with the crisis. The Post-Pandemic Economic Recovery phase brought positive changes in both profitability and liquidity, demonstrating the ability of banks to adapt and thrive as economic conditions stabilized. Macroeconomic variables, such as GDP growth and inflation, played crucial roles, with GDP growth positively affecting ROSF and inflation negatively impacting PM. These findings underscore the importance of a diversified banking system, including both conventional and Islamic banks, to enhance financial stability. Policymakers and financial regulators should consider the unique strengths of Islamic banking principles in regulatory frameworks and prioritize sound macroeconomic policies to promote stability and resilience in the banking sector. Future research should further explore the long-term impacts of economic crises on bank performance across different regions and banking models, as well as the interaction between regulatory environments and bank resilience. Keywords: Economic crises, bank performance, conventional banks, Islamic banks, OIC countries, COVID-19 pandemic, Eurozone Debt Crisis, post-pandemic recovery, financial stability, macroeconomic factors.
