Abstract

Improving the calibre of teaching and learning in elementary education and raising teacher professionalism depend critically on academic supervision. Still, its actual application is usually administrative and hasn't worked effectively as a tool for professional development. This study examines the contextual variables that affect these practices as well as compares how public and private elementary schools apply academic monitoring. Qualitative technique using a comparative case study design gathered data by means of interviews, observations, and documents including school supervisors, instructors, and principals. Strict bureaucratic demands suggest that in public schools supervision is typically formalistic and geared toward administrative compliance, which reduces its influence on teacher growth. By contrast, private schools usually use more flexible, interactive, and ongoing supervisory techniques. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the need of a contextual, cooperative, and reflective supervisory strategy to successfully support teacher growth and improve learning quality

Abstract

Teachers play a central role in creating effective reading literacy learning for elementary school students, encompassing technical skills, comprehension, reasoning, and critical use of information. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers, describe strategies for reading literacy learning, and identify challenges faced by teachers. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through learning observations, in-depth interviews with classroom teachers, and analysis of Lesson Plan (RPP) documents at SDN Celep 02 Sukoharjo. The results show that teachers act as facilitators, motivators, and reader models by implementing strategies such as reading aloud, integrated discussions, and guided reading assignments tailored to students' abilities. Teachers also strive to create a learning environment that supports reading habits, but still face obstacles such as limited time, a lack of variety in teaching materials, and difficulties in handling students with low initial reading abilities. The conclusion of this study confirms that optimizing reading literacy learning requires ongoing support through teacher professional development, diverse learning resources, and supportive school policies.

Abstract

This study is motivated by students who still have difficulty in understanding reading in depth. This is indicated by the low results of students' reading evaluation, both in the aspects of answering questions, finding the main idea, and concluding the content of the text. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between GLS and reading comprehension skills. This research method is a correlational approach. With the sample choosing total sampling of 39 students, with data collection techniques in the form of tests and questionnaires. The data processing and analysis techniques used statistical prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing (correlation). As for the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the research results of the school literacy movement have an average of 74.40 and a percentage of 74.4% and the average reading comprehension ability of students has an average of 56.41 and a percentage of 56.4% with a very good category. Based on the results of statistical analysis, there is a positive and significant relationship between the school literacy movement assisted by the canva application and the reading comprehension skills of grade V students of SDN 2 Sukarame, Bayongbong District. Abstract

Learning Pancasila Education in elementary schools still tends to focus on memorization and does not fully support deep learning that is meaningful for students. This study aims to analyze the need for developing Pancasila educational comics as a deep learning-based learning media in elementary schools. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers and students. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results revealed that teachers face limitations in using learning media that can present Pancasila material in a contextual, visual, and student-centered manner. In addition, students show a strong preference for story-based visual learning media that help them understand abstract Pancasila concepts more concretely. The available learning media are considered not yet optimal in supporting students’ cognitive engagement and conceptual understanding in depth. Therefore, the development of Pancasila educational comics is needed as an alternative learning medium that has the potential to support deep learning and enhance students’ cognitive understanding in elementary schools.
