Abstract

Background: COVID-19 is an infectious disease that has become a global problem. North Sulawesi Province in 2020 has 6 Regencies/Cities declared as local transmission areas, including South Minahasa Regency. The number of COVID-19 cases in South Minahasa Regency as of November 12 2020 was ranked 6th out of 16 Regencies/Cities in North Sulawesi. The purpose of this study was to find out the spatial distribution and host factors for the incidence of COVID-19 in South Minahasa Regency. Methods: Descriptive observational research was conducted using a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach in 421 cases in South Minahasa District. The variables in this study were the incidence of COVID-19 in South Minahasa Regency based on gender, age, symptom onset date, confirmed date, history of close contact, and comorbid diseases (hypertension and diabetes mellitus). Data were analyzed using Quantum GIS in mapping and displaying spatial information. The results of spatial data processing are presented in the form of an image map of the area based on variables. Results: The incidence of COVID-19 in South Minahasa Regency was found more in female respondents and the age group above 54 years. December 2020 was the highest time of onset and confirmed cases of COVID-19. Most of the respondents did not have comorbid hypertension and DM. Conclusion: There needs to be education about community behavior in preventing the transmission of COVID-19, namely using masks when doing activities outside the home, maintaining social distancing, washing hands with soap and running water, and completing the status of COVID-19 vaccinations to advanced vaccine doses ( booster) in South Minahasa Regency.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The high incidence of schistosomiasis in snails (2.56%) in Central Sulawesi can increase the risk of transmission to humans. Reducing cases of schistosomiasis infection in humans can be done by involving the community in schistosomiasis prevention programs which can lead to increased behavior and awareness about schistosomiasis prevention. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach which took the research location in Mekar Sari Village, Poso Regency. The study population totaled 369 heads of families (KK) with a total sample of 80 families taken by proportional random sampling. Data collection tool using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that 72.9% of respondents had high knowledge, 58.8% of respondents had a positive attitude, and 65% of respondents had good behavior in preventing transmission of schistosomiasis. The results of the chi-square test obtained a p value for knowledge of 0.027 and for attitude of 0.005 (p value <0.05), so that it can be concluded that knowledge and attitudes are significantly related to the behavior of preventing schistosomiasis transmission in Mekar Sari Village, Poso Regency. Abstract

Consumption of vegetables and fruits that contain sources of vitamins, minerals and fiber are needed by the body in achieving a healthy lifestyle. Consuming less vegetables and fruit can cause degenerative diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure, and cancer. Riskesdas 2018 data states that as many as 95.5% of the population aged ≥5 years consume vegetables and fruits under the recommendation. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence fruit and vegetable consumption in early childhood kindergartens in the working area of the RI Sidomulyo puskesmas. The research is quantitative with cross sectional design. The sampling technique uses stratified random sampling technique with a sample of 99 people. Statistical test results using Chi square obtained knowledge of mother's nutritional P value = 0.373> α 0.05 (CI = 649-3.164), children's nutritional status P value = 0.903> α 0.05 (CI = 385-4436), Children's Favorite P value = 0.050 <α 0.05 (CI = 1,103-8,233), Availability of Vegetables and Fruits P value = 0.023 <α 0.05 (CI = 1,226-6,302), Menu Variations P value = 0,600> α 0.05 (CI = 514-3,160), Family Practice P value = 0.814> α 0.05 (CI = 0.401-2.051), Family Income P value = 0.070 <α 0.05 (CI = 683-54.007). The conclusion is that there is no relationship between maternal nutritional knowledge, nutritional status, variations in menu, family practices while preference, availability of vegetables and fruit, family income is related to the behavior of kindergarten consumption of fruits and vegetables in the working area of the RI Sidomulyo Puskesmas in 2020. It is expected that the puskesmas and schools to be able to provide parents with information about the importance of vegetable and fruit consumption so that they can prepare vegetables and fruit for their children's daily supplies.
