Abstract

In Indonesia, the education curriculum underwent significant changes with the introduction of the Independent Curriculum. Meanwhile, curriculum changes have not been followed by the development of adequate teaching materials. Researchers conducted an analysis of English writing teaching materials for junior high school documents made by microteaching students. This research aims to identify how Pancasila values are integrated into English writing teaching materials created by micro-teaching students of the English Department for use in the independent curriculum. The research design in this study used qualitative and content analysis. The data collection method uses content analysis with the Miles and Huberman model approach. The findings of this research reveal that the English writing teaching materials developed by microteaching students at a university in Indonesia for junior high school effectively embody Pancasila values, making them appropriate for implementation in the independent curriculum.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum on the well-being of elementary school students in Jember Regency participating in the Program Sekolah Penggerak (PSP), with self-confidence as a mediator. A quantitative survey method was employed, involving students from grades 4 to 6, with data analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum significantly enhances student well-being (β = 0.45, p < 0.001), and self-confidence acts as a significant mediator in this relationship (β = 0.35, p < 0.01). These results highlight the importance of psychological factors, such as self-confidence, in optimizing the effectiveness of educational policy implementation. Aligning with self-determination theory, the study shows that autonomy and support in learning environments contribute to intrinsic motivation and student well-being. This study underscores the necessity for teacher training programs that integrate strategies to foster student self-confidence, ensuring more impactful outcomes of the Merdeka Curriculum. Future research should adopt qualitative methods and broader geographical scopes to validate these findings

Abstract

Career anxiety is described as a condition or situation where an individual is unable to make a decision in choosing a career because of an interception situation in the decision-making process. Each individual has different levels of anxiety. The purpose of this study is to understand, measure, and manage the impact of anxiety experienced by individuals related to aspects of their careers. This study was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method, involving approximately 108 participants consisting of high school students and college students. This study is expected to provide an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence career anxiety, so that more effective strategies and programs can be developed to help them overcome this anxiety.

Abstract

Pesantren play a pivotal role in shaping the character of young generations, yet students often face emotional pressures that affect their well-being. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a mindfulness and spiritual reflection program in enhancing the emotional well-being of pesantren students. Using a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest and a control group, 60 students were divided into a treatment group (n = 30) and a control group (n = 30). The eight-week intervention included mindful breathing, meditation, dzikir, and reflective discussions. Results showed a significant increase in the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS) scores for the treatment group from 45.2 to 61.8 (p < 0.001), while no significant change was observed in the control group (p = 0.47). Qualitative findings supported the program's effectiveness in emotion regulation and strengthening spirituality. This program holds potential for adaptation in various cultural and religious communities.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of digital-based counseling services on students' character development and academic achievement in Jember Regency. Utilizing a descriptive quantitative method, the study involved 250 junior and senior high school students selected through stratified random sampling. The research instruments included the Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) to measure character development and the Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) to assess learning motivation and academic performance. The results revealed significant improvements in students' character dimensions, with empathy scoring the highest (4.3), followed by emotional regulation (4.1) and self-awareness (4.2). On the academic side, the students' average grades increased from 75.4 to 82.1, supported by a 16.7% increase in intrinsic motivation. The study also highlighted challenges such as technological infrastructure disparities in rural areas, affecting access to digital counseling services. This research concludes that digital-based counseling services effectively support holistic student development, both in character and academic achievement.

Abstract

The role of biology learning is very important as an effort to improve student learning activities and outcomes. This study aims to determine an increase in student learning activities and outcomes in MTs Ma'arif Ambulu after using the Discovery Learning learning model. This type of research is a classroom action research (CAR) with 2 cycles where one cycle consists of four steps namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of the first cycle test that was carried out obtained a percentage of 68.75% and the average activity of cycle I students was 60.6% while the results of the second cycle test were 87.5% and the average activity of cycle II students was 92.5%. This shows that the ability of activities and student learning outcomes have increased with the application of discovery learning models.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the challenges faced by teachers in educating blind students at SLB-A Karya Murni Medan. The approach used in this research is a qualitative case study approach, the data collection method in this research uses interviews and documentation methods. The data obtained was then analyzed using descriptive qualitative with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The number of subjects of this research is 1 teacher of SLB-A Karya Murni. Based on the research that has been conducted, the researcher found problems experienced by SLB-A Karya Murni Medan teachers, namely problems in the learning process. Teachers experience challenges in self-adjustment and patience.  The researcher also proposed several solutions and strategies to minimize the challenges faced by SLB-A Karya Murni Medan teachers such as student needs-based training, mentorship by senior teachers, collaboration with psychologists and therapists, emotional and stress management training, application of empathy approach, and psychologist support system. Teachers' self-adjustment and patience levels require not only time and dedication, but also a strong commitment to continuously learn and develop in understanding the unique needs of each student.

Abstract

This study investigates the parental role in the formation of children's identity through an ontological lens of attachment theory. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study of FN and K, the analysis centers on how insecure attachment within the family system impacts the development of identity and psychological well-being. The findings reveal that children deprived of stable emotional bonds with their parents are more susceptible to identity confusion, diminished self-worth, and a tendency to seek emotional validation through external relationships, often characterized by instability and unhealthy dependence. Conversely, secure attachment provides a foundational base for emotional resilience, self-regulation, and the capacity to form balanced social connections. This research underscores the necessity of emotionally responsive and consistent parenting, alongside the importance of implementing attachment-based character education within school environments. The practical implications extend to family counselors, educators, and educational policymakers concerned with holistic child development. Future research is encouraged to explore the cultural dimensions of attachment and identity formation in collectivist societies and to evaluate longitudinal interventions grounded in attachment therapy frameworks.

Abstract

Early adulthood is a developmental stage highly susceptible to career stress, especially as individuals face increasing pressure to achieve economic stability, professional success, and identity consolidation. This study aims to systematically explore the role of social support in helping emerging adults cope with career-related stress and the quarter-life crisis. Using a thematic literature review approach, various forms of social support, emotional, informational, instrumental, and companionship, were analyzed in relation to their impact on psychological well-being. The findings indicate that strong social support serves as a buffer against career stress, enhances self-confidence, and facilitates adaptation during life transitions. Support from family and peers significantly contributes to resilience, while involvement from educational institutions through mentorship programs and career counseling is recommended as a long-term preventive strategy. Further research using qualitative and longitudinal approaches is encouraged to explore individuals’ subjective experiences in deriving meaning from the social support they receive during this critical life phase. These findings are relevant for developing inclusive and responsive educational and mental health policies tailored to the needs of the younger generation.

Abstract

The cognitive and character development of children in the digital age is becoming an increasingly important topic as information technology advances rapidly. Jean Piaget and Erik Erikson's developmental theories offer relevant frameworks of understanding to analyze how children adapt to the digital environment. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital technology on cognitive development based on Jean Piaget's theory and character development according to Erik Erikson's psychosocial theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative through literature analysis. The results show that digital technology can accelerate the cognitive learning process, but risks reducing physical exploration. In addition, digital platforms support social identity formation, although they present challenges in managing self-identity. This research is expected to serve as a basis for designing strategies to support optimal child development in the digital era. By understanding the interaction between classical developmental theories and the digital world, it is hoped that more effective ways can be found to support children's development in the present.
