Abstract

Peran penyuluhan pembangunan mengalami gelombang pasang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan tuntutannya. Hal itu dipengaruhi oleh paradigma pembangunan yang dianut oleh negara dan komunitas di dalamnya. Kuatnya tuntutan peranserta masyarakat sipil dan pilihan pembangunan yang memihak rakyat, menuntut penyuluhan pembangunan menyesuaikan paradigma keilmuannya yang berorientasi pada sasaran penyuluhan atau pemberdayaan masyarakat sasaran. Pemberdayaan masyarakat tidak lain adalah usaha memotivasi dan memberi dorongan kepada masyarakat agar mampu menggali potensi dirinya dan berani bertindak memperbaiki kualitas hidupnya, melalui cara, antara lain, pendidikan untuk penyadaran dan pemampuan diri mereka. Penyuluhan pembangunan sebagai bidang ilmu terapan, secara metodologis harus menyesuaikan dan mengembangkan prinsip-prinsip dan langkah-langkah teknis-metodologis bagi pengembangan program penyuluhan tersebut.

Abstract

The research on media impact has already been numerous and some theories of media impact overcome its doubt. Research on the media impact of socialization, however is rarely conducted since it is difficult to determine the parameters. The socializations itself is a time consuming process. The research is intended to describe behaviour pattern related to the programmes in the media namely news programme, that is to find out the response, to describe students behaviour in using the information from television, to know studens responses in waching news programme through socialization, to find out involvement (impact) of gender variable toward the habis in waching news programme. The research shows that: news programme plays a role as complementer information source for student to know politic about government board, like executive, legislative or yudicative board; students try to find information not only from one channel but also from other private –owned channels as alternative to get information; based on this research, parent friends and school environment will play important role on the level of knowledge realization about credible politic. The analisys shows that gender can influence response from students in waching news. Through students socialization, the impact of news programme, impact more to men than women. Before probing this research further, it should be noted that socialization values mentioned here are not a real political participation (for example by participating in one of the political party). The socialization is meant as an attempt to shape thought, attitude and behaviour orientations on certain values which later develop as internalization process.

Abstract

Dewan Pers dibentuk berdasarkan UU Pers 1999, yang disetujui oleh DPR, 13 September 1999 danditandatangani oleh Presiden B.J. Habibie sepuluh hari kemudian, 23 September, serta diundangkan hari itujuga. Pasal 15 Ayat (1) undang-undang itu menyatakan bahwa “Dalam upaya mengembangkan kemerdekaanpers dan meningkatkan kehidupan pers nasional, dibentuk Dewan Pers yang independen.” Dewan Persbukanlah law enforcer (penegak hukum) karena memang hanya punya moral force (kekuatan moral). Karenaitu kekuatan lembaga ini berada pada “daya paksa masyarakat”.

Abstract

This research aims to know the pattern of TV media use among adolescent and pre-adult audience in Jogjakarta in terms of time-spent to watch TV, frequencies and level of attention in watching TV. Besides that, this research also aims to know in detail the background of respondents who watch TV in order to comprehend the interaction built between respondents and their parents as well as the people surrounding them. Another aims for this research are to know the most favorite program watched, the frequencies of watching television programs which contained porn and violence elements. Employing questionnaire as instrument for data collecting, this research covered no less than 750 responden which selected by stratified random sampling technique. The result of this research shows that mostly respondent (83,87 %) spending their time to watch TV in prime time range—from 17.00–22.30—a period which labeled by the community as the period of study-time. It was very reasonable to classify such audience as watchaholic—they spent no less than 180-239 minutes or 4.5 hours a day to watch TV! Most of them (72 %) were classified as avid viewer of sexual or porn element show, 57,87% frequently watch TV program containing violence elements, and 47,60 % lived in consumptive style. In general, they live with good (proper) family, even 62,40% are classified as those who consistently following religion rules.

Abstract

The banner of political advertising is a medium often used by prospective candidates who will fight in elections. As a medium of information, the installation of banners on crowded major arterial road is believed to be a powerful way to introduce themselves to the voting community. However, the existing phenomenon that political communication contained in the banner of political advertising tend to have the same pattern from year to year without any innovations. Using qualitative methods with social semiotics approach, this research revealed the visual modalities in banner ads of Bandung mayoral candidates for the period of 20182023.Modality is a social semiotics approach to the question of truth in the form of choices in expressing the message. Based on visual modalities analysis, the meaning of truth has low, medium, and high degree. The results of this study are (1) the Ad banners displayed website addresses and social media accounts to make it easier for audiences to seek additional information about prospective candidates (high modalities); (2) The ad banners displayed the headline of candidates and taglines (jargon) in accordance with the vision offered (high modalities); (3)the Ad banners displayed Bandung locality issues around happiness, beauty, comfort, until Bandung Creative (low modalities); (4) The target audience of the ad banners Bandung mayor candidates are students and college students (medium modality).

Abstract

The existence of competitive advantage for an organization is something that cannot be avoided. Globalization and hyper-competitive market condition makes the management try to consolidate and count their assests in order to definie the way and position that they want to achieve in the market. By using the business process reengineering, the organization can get new energy (revitalization) to make it one of the best in the competition. The objective of this paper is to motivate the organization by evaluating its internal condition in order to achieve the competitive advantage. The competitive advantage concept of Michael E. Porter is the central topic in all of the efforts to make the organization ambitions grow and expand in a dynamic market.

Abstract

Asumsi dasar Paradigma Lerner (dalam komunikasi pembangunan) menyatakan terbukanya suatu wilayah dari isolasi fisik akan mendorong masyarakat berurbanisasi, yang selanjutnya akan menghasilkan literasi. Kedua variabel ini akan memengaruhi partisipasi media massa. Selanjutnya saling pengaruh dari ketiga variabel itu akan bermuara pada partisipasi pembangunan Konstruksi gender yang berlangsung di masyarakat yang berlatar belakang budaya patriarkhat ternyata mampu memandekkan aplikasi pemikiran Lerner, khususnya pada ibu-ibu rumah tangga. Urbanisasi tidak berjalan karena gender mengonstruksikan ibu-ibu rumah tangga untuk mendiami wilayah domestik. Gender juga menebar faham, pendidikan lebih diprioritaskan untuk anak laki-laki ketimbang anak perempuan dengan alasan laki-laki akan menjadi kepala rumah tangga yang bertanggung jawab terhadap keluarga. Terhambatnya aplikasi kedua konsep ini cenderung memperkecil akses perempuan pada media massa, yang pada akhirnya mengondisikan ibu-ibu rumah tangga (perempuan) dihimpit keterbatasan dalam partisipasi pembangunan.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal more about the use of social media especially Instagram (IG) in the activities of eat and drink in Generation Z through communication review. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collected through in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. Determination of research subjects is based on the choice of generation Z in the span of 24 years and below. In this research the object of research reveals deeper motives in using IG for dining activities by generation Z. By revealing more about the generation Z dining activities, researchers can find deeper motives carried out by Generation Z. After making observations, conducting interviews and supporting by literature study researchers have found that the photos uploaded by generation Z essentially not the intended food or beverage, but only the sign that represents  the food and beverage earlier. The process of capturing food and beverage carried out is a construction activity in accordance with the interest of the realization of the communication motive. As a new media, social media still has various phenomena to be explored further. There are quite a lot of social media users in Indonesia with high heterogeneity.

Abstract

Setelah serangan 11 September 2001 atas gedung World Trade Center, AS, kata Islam mejadi topik aktual dalam berbagai media barat, yang disandingkan dengan istilah-istilah terorisme, fundamentalisme, vadalisme, dan kata-kata berkonotasi buruk lainnya. Media barat, bahkan telah mengonstruksi persepsi tentang pertentangan Islam dan Barat dengan Amerika sebagai pemimpinnya. Sejak itu, secara perlahan tapi pasti, media barat memberitakan dunia Islam dalam gambaran begitu buruk: gambar-gambar para demonstran Pakistan, wanita yang ditangannya Quran dan pedang, film-film yang bertendensi anti-Islam. Ditayangkan berulangulang, terus-menerus, tiap hari. Upaya merendahkan Islam, bukan sekadar dalam ungkapan implisit, atau lewat gambar-gambar buruk, tapijuga sudah pada tingkat terang-terangan yang begitu eksplisit, seperti ungkapan: peradaban Islam lebih rendah daripada Kristen, orang Islam tidak beradab atau barbar, mengatasi terorisme Islam harus melalui pembaratan. Media barat menjadi kehilangan objektiviitas. Liputan tentang Islam, sebagian besar sekadar berita atau opini negatif; terjadi distorsi begitujauh. Media mengingkari kenyataan bahwa sesungguhnya Islam bukan hanya di anut oleh bangsa Timur Tengah, tapi juga oleh banyak ras dan bangsa lain, termasuk sebagian masyarakat barat. Pada kehdiuan sosial, akibatnya, para muslim minoritas di barat, sering diperlakukan tidak adil. Terdapat diskriminasi untuk nonEropa dan non-Kristen, khususnya Islam. Citra buruk tentang Islam di media barat. memang berlangsung jauh sebelum peristiwa II September. Ketika Uni Soviet bubar, Amerika dan sekutunya kehilangan musuh nomor satu; permusuhan itu kemudian diarahkan kepada Islam, yang dipandang sebagai ancaman. Untuk membangunjurnalisme barat yang objektif" maka media barat perllu membangun sikap terbuka dan mengakui kenyataan bahwa masyarakat itu, bahkan di negaranya sendiri, plural.
