Abstract

In inclusive education practices, several aspects determine the quality of teaching process. One of them is teaching resources. This study aims to assess teacher's readiness in inclusive schools, based on how they employ their tasks in the inclusive setting. According to PLB Directorate Guide Book (2004d). and Hallahan and Kauffman (1994), those tasks are (1) to create a conducive learning environment; (2) to construct and implement assessment to all children in order to identify every child's needs, strengths, and weaknesses; (3) to design an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and accommodate every child's needs; (4) to collaborate with all related parties; (5) to teach and evaluate; and (6) to manage classroom administration. The study shows that all respondents can employ those tasks. However, there are some flaws in the implementation, particularly on tasks involving direct relations with special-need children, such as (1) IEP and (2) teaching strategies and tools. These flaws are usually due to the classroom teachers' limited knowledge, and school's failure to provide adequate facilities for all children's needs, especially children with special needs. Thus, to be able to do their tasks optimally, teachers need positive attitude; a sufficient knowledge about special-need children and inclusive school; skills and socialization; and adequate facilities. It is necessary for the next study to employ observational methods as the main tool, and utilize a quantitative approach to complement this study.

Abstract

A research about the death concept understanding on teenagers is still rarely held in Indonesia. Moreover, there was assumption that teenagers rarely think about death that happened to people around them or to themselves. In this explorative research, the researcher wanted to see the concept of death that the teenagers have the anxiety over death, and how the concept of death they understood related with their anxiety over their own death. The participants of this research are 180 teenagers aged 15-22 years old in Indonesia, especially those who live in Jakarta. There are two measuring tools in this research. Measuring tool for death concept was made based on five dimensions developed by Slaughter (2007) and the measuring tool for death anxiety was developed by Asri, Imanuel, Dotulong, Pratesianingrum, Putri N.W., Putri U.S., and Ramadion (2008). Based on the result of this research, it was found that the teenagers have already had a lot of death concepts even though they haven't completely got all dimensions. Teenagers' understanding on death was related with their religion and culture point of view. Besides, the anxiety in death in teenagers was adequately high. There was no relation between death concept and death anxiety. It was shown by the correlation result Pearson about 0.052. The implication of this result and suggestion is in education on death concept for children and teenagers.

Abstract

Sport is an activity that presenting sense of purpose and sense of continuous challenge. Athlete's best performance will be achieved when the athlete is totally involved, focused and absorb in the game. Carlstedt (2004) presented the theory of critical moments which emphasizes on the importance of psychological factor than any other factors. A winner-mentality athlete or toughness mental has a certain psychological pattern which is called Primary Higher Order (PHO). This pattern is a combination of low or high absorption, low neurotics (worry) and high repressive coping (RC). Athlete's best performance is also relvated with intrinsic motivation, as it is mentioned in the theory of self-determination. This research analyzed the performances of four international badminton athletes based on the theory of critical moments and self-determination. The analysis covered 82 graphs of the game of the research subjects. The result showed that there were no significant differences in the four research subjects in the term of game technical skill, but there was a difference in the pattern of psychological factor and self-determination.

Religious orientation is divided into two dimensions, internal and external. The issue in this research is whether there is a significant relation or not between the religious orientation and academic cheats. Furthermore, this research had a purpose to know the relations between the religious orientation and academic cheats with the college students. This research found Pearson correlation coefficient between religious orientation and academic cheats was -0.209 and significant 0.005 in the internal religious orientation dimension. There was 0.207 and significant 0.006 in the external religious orientation dimension. Those results have supported the hypothesis of this research. Because of that, the higher internal religious orientation scored, the lower academic cheat conducted. On the other hand, the lower internal religious orientation scored the higher possibility for the college students to get involved in the academic cheats.
