JURNAL ansiru PAI is a scientific journal on Teacher Training and Development of Islamic Education. The journal is managed by Master Degree Program under the Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training (FITK) of the State Islamic University of North Sumatera (UIN Sumatera Utara). This journal focuses on the discussion of teacher training and development of Islamic education on the basis of four competences: pedagogical, personal, social, and professional skills. The analysis can be viewed from various perspectives of interdisciplinary studies. Jurnal Ansiru PAI is published twice a year: January and July.

Abstract

This research was motivated by one of the changes brought about in the independent learning policy. In terms of pedagogy, the independent learning policy will abandon the standardization approach towards a more complete heterogeneous approach that enables educators and students to explore the treasures of knowledge that continue to develop. State Vocational School 4 Kota Pariaman is one of the schools that has implemented the independent learning curriculum since July in the 2022/2023 academic year. The aim of this research is to find out the planning, implementation and obstacles to the independent learning curriculum in Islamic Religious Education subjects in class X of SMK Negeri 4 Kota Pariaman. The research method used is descriptive qualitative field research. The results of this research showed that planning for the independent learning curriculum started with outreach activities carried out by the school principal to educators. Implementation will start in the 2022/2023 academic year and will only be implemented in class X with a total of approximately 150 students. The obstacle encountered is the lack of facilities and infrastructure in schools so that educators are required to be creative in the learning process

Abstract

Usia lanjut bukanlah halangan untuk terus belajar dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup, termasuk melalui pendidikan. implementasi pendidikan agama Islam bagi lansia memerlukan model pembelajaran yang spesifik dan adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji model pembelajaran PAI bagi Manula. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan studi pustaka. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menelaah konsep-konsep, teori, dan temuan-temuan yang berkaitan dengan pembelajaran agama Islam untuk kelompok usia lanjut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik manula mencakup perubahan fisik, kognitif, psikologis, dan sosial yang terjadi seiring bertambahnya usia. Lansia sering mengalami penurunan dalam memori, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan konsentrasi, yang dapat mengganggu kemampuan mereka dalam menjalani aktivitas sehari-hari. Selain itu, kebutuhan psikologis dan spiritual lansia, seperti dukungan sosial, keterlibatan dalam aktivitas, serta pencarian makna hidup, sangat penting untuk kesejahteraan mereka. Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) bagi lansia dirancang dengan pendekatan yang fleksibel dan holistik, dengan fokus pada metode yang mengaktifkan keterlibatan mereka, seperti ceramah interaktif dan pembelajaran berbasis praktik, untuk mendukung pemahaman dan penerapan ajaran agama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Di sisi lain, pembelajaran ini juga memberikan kesempatan bagi lansia untuk terus mengembangkan diri, meningkatkan kualitas hidup, dan menjaga keterhubungan dengan nilai-nilai agama. Pendekatan ini membantu mereka untuk merasa dihargai dan tetap terlibat dalam komunitas. Dengan pengajaran yang sesuai, mereka dapat merasa lebih tenang, sehat secara emosional, dan memiliki tujuan hidup yang lebih jelas. Oleh karena itu, Pendidikan Agama Islam bagi lansia bukan hanya sekadar transfer pengetahuan, tetapi juga sarana untuk memperkuat ketahanan mental dan spiritual mereka di usia lanjut.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education and Character learning in improving students' critical thinking skills at SMAN 1 Waru, Sidoarjo. The Independent Curriculum provides teachers with the freedom to develop teaching methods that suit students' needs and characteristics, so that it is hoped that they will be able to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMAN 1 Waru is effective and has a positive impact on students' critical thinking abilities. More flexible and project-based learning facilitates students to be more active, creative and critical in understanding and applying the concepts of Islamic Religious Education and Character. Apart from that, teachers also play an important role in motivating and guiding students to think critically through discussions, questions and answers, and collaborative activities. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMAN 1 Waru Sidoarjo is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character. This research contributes to the development of learning strategies that can be applied in other schools to achieve better educational goals.

Abstract

Tasawuf sering kali dipandang sebagai jalan untuk mencapai kebersihan hati (tazkiyah an-nafs) dan kesadaran penuh akan kehadiran Allah dalam setiap aspek kehidupan. Akhlak dalam tasawuf merupakan inti dari perjalanan spiritual seorang sufi. Melalui pengembangan akhlak yang baik, seseorang dapat mencapai keadaan yang lebih dekat dengan Allah dan hidup selaras dengan kehendak-Nya.. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan studi literatur. Yang mana meberikan hasil bahwa Tasawuf mengajarkan bahwa sifat-sifat mulia seperti kejujuran, kesabaran, kerendahan hati, dan kasih sayang harus menjadi bagian integral dari kehidupan seorang muslim. Jadi, secara singkat, ilmu tasawuf berhubungan dengan pengembangan akhlak dan spiritualitas yang mendalam dalam rangka mencapai kedekatan dengan Allah

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Freedom Curriculum) at Madrasah Aliyah Nahdlotul Ulama in enhancing student discipline through teacher role modeling. The Kurikulum Merdeka is designed to provide student-centered learning freedom, enabling students to develop competencies and character according to their needs. However, its implementation faces challenges with low student discipline.The results of this study indicate that the role of teachers as role models is crucial in shaping student discipline. Teachers' exemplary behavior helps students understand responsibility and make optimal use of learning freedom. A project-based learning approach and the integration of Islamic moral values are also key supporting factors in forming balanced student character. This study emphasizes the importance of a supportive school environment and teacher creativity to maximize the potential of the Kurikulum Merdeka

Abstract

The revival of Islam is an inevitability, not only because of the dominance of Western factors that have lasted seven centuries, but olso the urgent need between the challenges of modernity and the condition of backwardness of Muslims in global relations. Hassan Hanafi initiated Islamic Reform which he believed was a solution. This research aims to analyze in depth the phenomenon of Hasan Hanafi's Islamic Left from philosophical, sociological and political perspectives, and the philosophy of skepticism as a source of Islamic revival. Data collection techniques were carried out through exploration and critical analysis of various literature related to the research topic. Data sources include primary, namely the ideas of "Islamic Left" (al-Yasar al-Islam) Hasan Hanafi and the book History of Western Philosophy and Its Connection with Political and Social Circumtances From the Early Times to the Present Day, the work of Bertrand Russell, and secondary sources ; scientific journals and previous research. The basic reason for confronting the Hanafi Islamic Left concept and the philosophy of skepticism as a paradoxical attitude is to obtain logistical and critical arguments that can be justified conceptually and academically. As a result, the renewal of Muslim society from the Hanafi perspective is indeed necessary for the revival of Islam, while the philosophy of skepticism is inversely proportional to the progress of civilization

Abstract

Fiqh learning in educational institutions has an important role in shaping students' understanding of Islamic sharia law which is sourced from the Qur'an and Hadith. However, in practice, learning of fiqh is still theoretical and does not provide enough space for students to think critically. Therefore, it is important to have a learning method that can support students to develop their mindset to be able to understand fiqh learning more quickly. One of the methods used in this study is the brainstorming method with descriptive qualitative research. This brainstorming method is a learning technique that encourages students to be more effective in the teaching and learning process where students can develop their thinking that is more analytical and reflective in understanding the concept of fiqh. This method emphasizes more on open discussion and free exploration of ideas. The implementation of this method aims to encourage students to be more active in asking questions, expressing opinions, and analyzing various views of Islamic sharia law. Thus, students can develop critical thinking skills that enable them to understand, evaluate and apply the concept of fiqh in everyday life. This study will analyze the implementation of the brainstorming method in MA Terpadu Nurul Anwar, examine how the process of implementing the method contributes to developing students' critical thinking skills in fiqh learning, and explore the factors that support and hinder the success of implementing the method. It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to the development of fiqh teaching methods that are more innovative, interactive, and relevant to the needs and characteristics of students.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the form of utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially those based on Natural Language Processing (NLP), in the learning process and analyze its impact on the academic competence of students of the Postgraduate Islamic Religious Education Study Program, Masters Program, UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. In addition, this study also identifies various supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of AI as a learning medium in higher education environments. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques are carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed qualitatively through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that students utilized NLP-based AI, to access academic literature and information, assist in compiling scientific papers, improve understanding of the material, and as a companion media in the independent learning process. The use of AI has a positive impact on several aspects of students' academic competence, including increasing digital literacy, strengthening scientific thinking skills, effectiveness in completing academic assignments, and independence and responsibility in learning. Supporting factors for the use of AI in learning include user readiness as reflected in the mastery of digital technology, the availability of internet access, and institutional support such as adequate training and facilities. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include a weak understanding of the ethics of using AI, the risk of plagiarism, and the potential for dependence on technology that can reduce students' critical thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in internalizing the value of honesty through character habituation at MI Miftahul Huda Kedungcino. Amid increasing moral challenges faced by students, character education—particularly the value of honesty—becomes essential in shaping individuals with integrity and social responsibility. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that PAI teachers play a strategic role not only as educators but also as moral exemplars who integrate honesty into daily school routines and learning activities. Character habituation is implemented through structured religious activities such as dhuha and dhuhr prayers, recitation of Asmaul Husna, Aqidatul Awwam, and sholawat. These routines help students internalize honesty as part of their daily behavior. Supporting and inhibiting factors were also identified, including environmental influences, teacher commitment, and parental involvement. The study concludes that effective collaboration between schools, teachers, and families is vital in fostering honest and morally upright students in the digital era. The practical implication of this research is the need for teachers and madrasah policies to continuously strengthen character-based education through structured habituation programs, while future studies can expand the scope to other schools or explore digital-based strategies for character education.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of character education for students through literacy programmes at SMP Negeri 2 Binjai Langkat, to identify the strategies used by teachers in implementing character education for students through literacy programmes, and to identify the obstacles faced by teachers in implementing character education for students through literacy programmes at the school. This research is a qualitative field study, which involves collecting data in the field. The research uses field research methods, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that character education is reflected in daily life at school, both by the principal, teachers, and students. Teachers' strategies in implementing character education for students through student literacy programmes at school include several methods, such as teachers always setting a good example and being role models for students, teachers always giving appreciation and moral messages, and teachers always guiding students to always be honest and open about things. Challenges teachers face in implementing character education through student literacy programmes include students often ignoring teachers when they provide motivation. Lack of motivation, both from within the students and from external sources, as well as students arriving late to school, are significant challenges for schools in beginning to change students' character.
