Abstract

The torsion beam is one of the most important parts of an electric car. The torsion beam can accept the loading of vehicle structures statically and dynamically. The movement of the vehicle, such as turning, turning with a bumpy road contour, affects the stress limit that the torsion beam can support. This study aims to simulate the effects of shifts such as deflection and stress on the use of a torsion beam suspension. The method used is a loading simulation using the Finite Element Model (FEM) model. The results showed that the maximum deflection effect occurred in the 2000N loading of 1.5347 mm, while the maximum stress effect occurred in the 2000N loading of 2342.57N.

Abstract

The use of appropriate features to determine identification is very important for the results of accuracy, especially the image of traditional batik in Solo. Characteristics are considered as good if they have distinguishing abilities, so they can be used for recognition with a high degree of accuracy. The purpose of this study was to determine what texture characteristics affect the level of accuracy in the identification of traditional batik in Solo. The method used is KFold cross-validation, with a K value of 2, 3, 5, 6, 10 used to test the training data and validation data. The best parameters are chosen from the highest accuracy value, and then the best final weight, value α, dec α, and min α are stored. The resulting values are used in testing the data. The texture characteristics tested were 0o energy, 45o energy, 90o energy, 135o energy, 0o entropy, 45o entropy, 90o entropy, 135o entropy, 0o contrast, 45o contrast, 90o contrast, 135o energy, 0o homogeneity, 45o homogeneity, 90o homogeneity. , homogeneity 135 o, correlation 0 o, correlation 45 o, correlation 90 o, correlation 135o. The test results obtained from K = 2, 3, 5, 6, 10 is the highest accuracy value obtained at 10-fold with an accuracy of 80.2%. The results of testing using k-fold can be concluded that the use of texture characteristics can affect the accuracy of 18.89%.

Abstract

The conventional cooling process was chosen because of the better estimation of manufacturing times and lower manufacturing costs. One alternative to minimize the decline in quality in plastic products is by using a conformal cooling process. This study will compare the contours of the fluid flow pattern between conventional cooling channels and conformal cooling channels. Case study on a box-shaped product made of PP material which has a melt temperature of 205 ° C. 3D product images were made with Solidwork 2017 software and process simulation using fluent 19.0 software. The results showed that the temperature flow pattern in the conformal channel resulted in a temperature absorption of around 303.2K while the conventional cooling channel was around 302.5K. Then the coolant channel that experiences high pressure drop occurs in the conformal cooling channel around 88888.9 pascals and the conventional cooling channel around 355555.6 pascals.

Abstract

Plastic waste is one of the environmental problems in Indonesia. Plastic waste is a type of waste that is difficult to decompose, so it needs special handling for processing the problem. One alternative offered is by making a plastic chopper machine. One of the manufacturing of a machine is to design and analyze the components used. The blade is one of the important components of a plastic chopper. Model simulation of the blade itself needs to be done to analyze the performance of the blade during the performance of the machine. Simulation modeling is done using CAE software.. The form of meshing in the blade model is using tetrahedral and the meshing ratio is close to 1. The results obtained from the blade modeling process are the maximum Von mises stress on the loading of 300N, 500N, and 700N respectively at 6.752 x 10-3 MPa, 2.845 x 10- 3 MPa and 1,575 x 10-3MPa. While the amount of displacement in the variation of loading 300N, 500N, and 700N respectively has a value of 6.752 x 10-2 mm, 1.125 x 10-1 mm and 1.575 x 10-1 mm. The safety factor in this simulation is produced which has a value of 15, which means it is safe for all loading variations because it has a value of more than 1.

Abstract

Universities are educational institutions that cannot be separated from student service activities, especially student letter services. Currently, student letter service activities at the TEDC Polytechnic Bandung are still using conventional methods. Students who wish to make certain letter submissions must often fill in data on paper forms to make letter submissions. The problems that occur are the data is not well organized, the large number of papers that must be printed for service forms of various kinds of letters and also service officers still have to enter data on the form into letters submitted by students manually. Based on this problem, it is necessary to create a student letter service administration system to manage various student letter submissions. The method used in this research is waterfall. The database design uses MySQL and the programming languages used are PHP and Java. The result of this research is that there is an administrative system that is able to manage student letter submission data, starting from submission, letters being processed, to giving notification to students that the letter has been processed. From the test results, 82.8% of respondents agreed that the system was able to manage student letters.

Abstract

The use of the classification method affects the accuracy of the test results. The accuracy of the classification method is affected by the number of classes in the image. The number of classes and the amount of data should be considered when making decisions in choosing a classification method. This study used 600 data, which were divided into 510 training data and 90 test data. The number of classes tested is 12 classes with the number of initial features used by 22 features. The characteristics used in the test consist of shape characteristics and texture characteristics. The classification methods used in this study are LVQ, Backpropagation, and SVM. The data has 22 features or attributes that are the result of texture and shape feature extraction. Texture features are energy 0o, energy 45o, energy 90o, energy 135o, entropy 0o, entropy 45o, entropy 90o, entropy 135o, contrast 0o, contrast 45o, contrast 90o, contrast 135o, homogeneity 00, homogeneity 45o, homogeneity 90o, homogeneity 135o, correlation 0o, Correlation 45o, correlation 90o, correlation 135o, features of área and perimeter shape. The test results using the Backpropagation method obtained 89.7% results, using the LVQ method obtained 77.78% results, and the SVM method obtained 99.1% results.

Abstract

Casting is a manufacturing process that uses molten metal and molds to obtain a product that is closer to its final geometry. The quality of casting products is influenced by several factors and one of the important factors is the mold. The sand that is often used in making molds is resin coated sand, since this sand will bond to one another if it is heated. The research focus is determine the effects of grain size and heating temperature of resin coated sand on the mechanical properties of the mold which include compressive, shear and tensile strength. This study used an experimental method with large parameters of resin coated sand and heating temperature. From the test results, the highest compressive, shear and tensile strength values are Produced by sand with grain size less than 300 µm are identified.. The high heating temperature makes the bonds between the sands stronger and the strength value is higher..

Abstract

Solar panel is one of the most promising renewable energies technology that can be an alternative of the fossil fuel energy. Furthermore, an accurate model to simulate the solar panel efficiency and power output is required. In this study, four parameters model is used to simulate the power output of the solar panel. Four parameters are extracted from single diode equation by using Matlab software then validate with manufacturer datasheet and one-day experiment condition. The error value from datasheet and experiment are 0.03% and 3.54%, respectively. Findings show that four parameters model is accurate. In the future, this result can be taken as a valuable reference for researcher and industrial to modelling energy output of the solar panel.

Abstract

Mobile promoters have their own way of attracting buyers during sale process. How promoters  attract buyers is called probing, probing expertise is needed by the promoter handphone. If the expertise is lacking then the prmoters will lose the opportunity to make maximum sales and vice versa. Therefore predictions are very important to make to find out whether the results of the promoter's performance on Oppo sales are affected by probing or not. This research was conducted by applying the Markov chain method, with the research object area of Amplas (Ambarukmo Plaza) Yogyakarta. The results showed that probing had a significant effect on sales but had less effect on sales targets, with a prediction rate of 35% has increased from sales results.

Abstract

Ocean wave power plant is one of the plants that uses sea waves as the main energy. Although the amount of energy is abundant, in Indonesia the use of sea waves as electricity generators is still small. This is due to the lack of human resources to manage the wave energy of sea water. Many research studies on the Oscillating Water Column have been carried out, but it is only limited to a potential or feasibility study to be installed on the coast. Therefore, the focus of this research is to design a sea wave power plant with an oscillating water column system. The working process of the tool begins by adjusting the pwm to drive the motor power window which is connected to the wave arm. When the wave arm moves back and forth, it will produce artificial ocean waves. Artificial waves in the chamber produce compressed air, the air produced is used to rotate the turbine blades that have been connected to the generator to produce electrical energy. The greatest voltage and current is obtained when the wind speed reaches 7.7 m / s and the largest pulley rotating speed reaches 31,9 rpm at the 17 cm water level, which is 3.03 V DC and 6,07 mA. The test results prove that the potential of water waves can be used to generate electricity The development of the capacity of ocean wave power plants can be done by changing the dimensions of the turbines and increasing the capacity of the generator.
