Abstract

Pain is an uncomfortable feeling that can be an emotional experience and has the potential to cause real tissue damage. Post-operative events can cause patients to feel pain in certain parts of the body. In post-operative care to reduce pain, patients are given NSAID (Non-Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) analgesic drugs, and the drugs commonly used are Ketorolac 30mg and Paracetamol 1000mg. The use of analgesics is said to be effective if the patient's perception shows satisfaction after using the analgesic. The research was conducted to see the level of patient satisfaction in using the analgesic intravenous injection of ketorolac 30mg and intravenous infusion of paracetamol 1000mg. This research used a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design with double blinds. Data collection was carried out in April–July 2021 at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. Then the data obtained was analyzed using the Chi-Square test. There were 40 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis results show a significance value of 0.006<0.05. Thus it can be concluded that there is a difference in satisfaction with the use of analgesics. The research showed that the level of satisfaction with the use of the analgesic intravenous injection Ketorolac 30mg in mild to moderate post-operative patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital was higher than the use of intravenous infusion Paracetamol 1000mg. We  suggest conducting additional research with a larger and more diverse sample to yield results applicable to a broader population.  We also recommend the routine use of 30mg ketorolac injection. Keywords : Anti-pain, postperative, satisfaction level

Abstract

The agency for drug and food control republic of Indonesia in synergy with the academic community of Health Polytechnic in Medan implemented a food safety extension facilitator programme to protect the public from unqualified food. The study aims to measure the success of the facilitators in educating food business operators in Simalungun, Karo, Serdang Bedagai and Samosir districts on food safety. The research data were taken from the report on the results of activities as a facilitator of the agency for drug and food control republic of Indonesia in 2019, on behalf of the health polytechnic students in Medan. Counseling was conducted through presentations and discussions in the village hall or in the facilities of the participants, depending on the availability of facilities in each village. Prior to the presentation, a pre-test questionnaire was completed to measure the knowledge of participants, after which the material was presented and discussed. A post-test questionnaire was then completed to measure the participants’ level of knowledge. The total number of participants from 5 districts was 268 people. Using the SPSS method of the Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs statistical test, the significance value (p-value) of the pre-test and post-test data was found to be 0.005 (<0.05). The face-to-face counselling methods or presentations followed by discussions were shown to increase participants’ knowledge as measured by the pre-test and post-test scores. Thus, the food safety extension facilitator programme can improve participants’ knowledge, is an intervention that can be continued throughout Indonesia by involving related sectors to achieve safe, quality and efficacious or beneficial food products based on the Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) food.Keyword: Agency for Drug and Food Control, facilitator, food safety, counseling, MSMEs

Abstract

Diarrhea can be defined as a condition where a person experiences an increased frequency of defecation, which results in liquid or non-solid faeces. Washing hands with soap is a fundamental and essential technique for preventing and controlling the spread of infectious diseases. Hands are one of the main routes for bacteria to enter and infect the body. Diarrhea is one of the factors causing death, so there must be prevention of diarrhea incidents. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between hand washing behavior using soap and the incidence of diarrhea. This research includes quantitative research analysis using a cross-sectional design. Research activities were conducted at State Elementary School 04 Rantau Utara from February to March 2024. The population studied in this research were all students from Elementary School 268 Negeri 04 Rantau Utara. The sampling technique used was random sampling, which resulted in a research sample of 71 people. The variables examined in this research include hand washing behavior using soap and the incidence of diarrhea.. Data was collected through questionnaires. Data analysis carried out included univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test using SPSS version 24 software. Based on the analysis results, a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. This shows that there is a statistically significant relationship between handwashing behaviour using soap and the incidence of diarrhea. This is due to a lack of good and correct hand washing with soap, which causes diarrhoea. Many still need to understand the basic techniques for washing hands with soap properly. Having hand washing facilities and infrastructure will make it easier for children to wash their hands properly so that they can effectively break the chain of bacteria.
