Abstract

Decentralization implementation of environmental management in West Sumatra has not yet shown the role of local government in the framework of checks and balances. The urgency of environmental management issue listed in the West Sumatra Regional Government's Flagship Program requires supervision by Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) through program formation, program budgeting, and program implementation on three supporting programs; Waste Management Program, Hazardous Waste Control Program, and The Environmental Education, Training and Counseling Program for the Community. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach, and uses Jimly Asshiddiqie's Five Aspects of Supervision in Legislative Power. The result shows that supervisory function in the management of environmental affairs is overall going well. However, the early stages of supervision; consideration of programs determination and budgeting are not so significant. Environmental Education, Training and Counseling Program for the Community is politically less optimal than the supervision of the Waste Management Program and the Hazardous and Toxic Waste Control Program. This is because DPRD is focusing more on entrusting ‘pokir’ in these programs.

Abstract

The limitations of integrated farming are difficult to overcome if relying solely on personal and conventional approaches. Therefore, a community-based approach with digital technology adoption is required. This study aims to analyze the initial model for developing an integrated farming community through a digital platform tailored to the characteristics and perceptions of key stakeholders. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data visualization techniques, using online and offline surveys involving 60 respondents—comprising farmers, consumers, and agricultural academics/practitioners—selected through quota sampling. Data analysis involved reduction, visualization of respondent characteristics in graphical form, and perception testing across respondent groups using chi-square analysis. The results were then mapped into a community program framework as the foundation for designing the initial platform model. The findings show that the Koper-Tani model aligns with user characteristics, especially regarding experience, age, and education level, which support adoption readiness. Perception tests showed no significant differences among respondent groups on the evaluated indicators. The proposed platform model consists of five subsystems: (1) needs identification and market access, (2) social media information, (3) farmer empowerment, (4) regulatory and collaboration strengthening, and (5) time-based monitoring and evaluation. Further research is needed by adding social interaction features and their impact on the sustainability of integrated agriculture.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of developing tourism villages in Indonesia through a systematic approach, focusing on driving factors, challenges, and resulting impacts. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was employed to synthesize relevant literature published between 2022 and 2024 using thematic content analysis methods. The findings reveal that key driving factors for tourism village development include the richness of local potential, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and support for infrastructure and innovation. However, significant challenges such as limited infrastructure, weak management, and insufficient digital promotion often hinder the sustainability of tourism villages. Additionally, the study highlights that the development of tourism villages generates substantial positive impacts, including local economic growth, community well-being, cultural preservation, and environmental conservation. Tourism villages serve not only as a tool for local economic development but also as a model for sustainable development that aligns social, economic, and environmental dimensions. To ensure the sustainability of tourism villages, this study recommends enhancing stakeholder synergy, improving infrastructure, optimizing digital promotion, empowering communities, mitigating risks, and implementing regulations for cultural and environmental preservation.

Abstract

The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) is widely used to screen for mental health problems in children and adolescents aged 4–18. Adolescents’ behavioral responses to challenges may differ based on their living environment, such as living with parents or in a boarding school. This study aimed to compare the mental health status of general high school students and integrated Islamic boarding school students in two cities in West Sumatra, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 120 students aged 15–17 years selected through incidental random sampling. SDQ data were collected online in public schools and using printed questionnaires in boarding schools. Independent t-tests were used for analysis. Significant differences were found in conduct problems (p = 0.010) and peer relationship problems (p = 0.046). Strong correlations were identified between conduct problems and hyperactivity (r = 0.289**), as well as between peer problems and emotional symptoms (r = 0.295**) and hyperactivity (r = 0.356**). Social environments, including parenting patterns and limited parental interaction, play a crucial role in adolescent mental health. This study provides empirical evidence on how differences in school systems and living arrangements affect students' psychological conditions, supporting school-based mental health interventions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of employee competence and integrity on employee performance in the preparation of LPPD in Palembang City. Independent variables are competence (X1), and integrity (X2), while the dependent variable is employee performance (Y). Respondents of this study amounted to 78 people. Data collection was carried out by giving a questionnaire consisting of 28 statement items to respondents with answers based on the 1-4 scale rating system. Data were analysed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 25. Employee competence and employee integrity have a positive and significant influence on employee performance in preparing LPPD in Palembang City partially and simultaneously. Competence is indicated by employees having sufficient motivation, character, self-awareness, knowledge, and skills to carry out their tasks effectively. Meanwhile, integrity serves as a strong ethical and moral foundation, enabling employees to work with loyalty, responsibility, commitment, and care. Some recommendations to improve employee performance include the development of ongoing training programs that focus on improving technical skills; the implementation of a performance evaluation system that measures work results as well as integrity and commitment; the strengthening of internal oversight mechanisms; and the enhancement of stakeholder involvement in the preparation and evaluation of the LPPD to ensure government accountability and transparency.
