Abstract

Background: Organic fertilizers is able to maintain the balance of the land and improve land productivity as well as reducing the environmental impact of land. Pepper plants contain lots of vitamin A and vitamin C and contain essential oils capsaicin, which causes a spicy flavor and heat to provide warmth when used for spices (herbs). Methods: The materials used in this study is the land of black, red chilli seeds large, EM4, water immersion soy, turmeric and wastewater cow urine. The study was conducted over three months, from April 2015 - July 2015. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a liquid treatment factors limbar cow urine at levels as follows: P0 = control, ML P1 = 25, P2 = 50 ML and P3 = 75 ML. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and if there is an influence, it will be followed by Least Significant Difference Test (BNT) at significance level of 5% and 1%. Results: The results showed that administration of cow urine liquid waste significant effect on the growth of large red pepper plant, that plant height, fruit number and weight of the fruit harvest. Conclusion: The growth of large red pepper plant with the highest scores were obtained in treatment P3 with a concentration of 75 ml while the growth to the lowest value was obtained in treatment P1 with a concentration of 25 ml.

Abstract

Background: Fish layur which is often called the people of Maluku as Fish Parang-parang is included order Perciformes in the Trchiuridae family and genus Trichiurus. The existence of fish in the waters Layur Passo not known with certainty. Methods: The study took place in October 2014. The study was divided into three locations of the research station. The method used in this study are visual census to calculate directly the large number of fish caught at the sites. Then the data were analyzed descriptively. Calculations used in the processing of the data using the formula of density, abundance, and distribution patterns. Environmental characteristics in measuring temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO). Results: The results showed that the water environmental condition Passo village is quite good for the survival of the organism. Conclusion: The density, abundance, and distribution pattern of fish layur relatively abundant in these waters with the highest value contained at two stations at the sites.

Abstract

Background: One type of organic fertilizer is manure that contains nutrients that can support the growth of microorganisms in soil fertility and soil. On the island of Buru, the people there know and cultivate community hotong normally used as a traditional food. Methods: This study was conducted in the District Three Village house Baguala, which lasted for four months ie from March to June 2015. The study was conducted in the form of two factor experiment in a randomized complete block design (RAK). The first factor (I) is a type of organic fertilizer (F), which consists of 4 levels of treatment and the second factor (II) is a dose of organic fertilizer (M) comprising 5 stage treatment. Observations were made on indicators of growth in terms of height and number of leaves and production indicators include the number of tillers (JA), the number of panicle (JM), panicle length (PM), planting seed weight (BBP), and the dry weight of stover (BKB). Results: The existence of the effect of the type of organic fertilizer on the growth and poduksi plant hotong seen in the treatment of type of fertilizer week 8 is on F3 and F4 showed high growth of crops, leaf number ever, the number of panicle most, the number of tillers most, panicle length of the longest and most planting seed weight and dry weight of stover. The influence dose of organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of hotong look at treatment week 8, namely the treatment of M2, M3 and M4 showed high growth of crops and the number of leaves, the highest and the treatment number of panicles and tillers most, panicle length of the longest as well as the weight of seed planting and a dry weight of stover. Recommendations effective fertilizer in crop cultivation hotong is to use the type of chicken manure and cow with doses of 900 and 1200 g / polybag. Conclusion: The interaction between treatment types of fertilizers and fertilizers at the variable growth in terms of height (TT) and number of leaves (JD) as well as for variable production panicle length (PM), the weight of the seed crop (BBP) and the dry weight of stover (BKB) showed their influence the type and dose of fertilizer on each variable hotong growth and crop production, reflected in the growth and crop production hotong diverse in every treatment.

Abstract

Background: The concept of classification of living things, especially the determination key materials, is one of the concepts in learning biology is quite difficult to understand by students. The concept of learning in the classroom tend to use traditional approaches in the form of lectures and experiments. Questioning skills very important to have a teacher, because it can increase student participation in the learning activity, generate interest and curiosity, develop ways of thinking and active learning, and focus on students. Methods: This study was conducted using the Class Action Research (PTK) is carried out in collaboration with the seventh grade biology teacher and vice principal at Junior High School Curriculum affairs 6 Ambon. PTK is held in the classroom while the class VII1 VII2 used as a test model of learning. Results: The results showed that apply the concepts and principles in biology through scientific work asked to improve the performance of teachers. Application of scientific work asks improve student learning outcomes. Application of scientific work asks improve student motivation. Application of scientific work asked to create a climate conducive learning and Application of scientific work asks improve students' science process skills. Conclusions: The implementation of learning in the classroom that teachers must practice more to phrase questions to reveal the facts, prepare questions about the procedure, prepare questions about the reasons for the use of certain tools or materials and prepare questions for designing a scientific activity.

Abstract

Background: Hotong seeds are a growing and fertile plant on Buru Island and have been exploited by local people as an alternative source of carbohydrates. However, its utilization is still very simple as a result of not knowing the pattern of utilization in other form. Hotong seeds are the smallest cereal seeds weighing 15.2 kg each. Hotong seeds have the highest nutrient content, diameter hot seeds at the base of the larger than the tip and center. The color of seeds are varied hot yellow, brownish and red. Method: This study was an experimental study using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with long storage treatment (0, 6, 8, and 12 months). Each treatment was repeated three times. The parameters observed were fat content in hotong seeds. Analysis of fat content using descriptive analysis method. Results: The results showed that the fat content of Hotong seeds of Waelo Village differed in control and on each treatment of storage duration. In the control of low fat content of 3.3591%, fat content increased in storage of 6 months and 8 months that is 3.5491% and 3.7242% and then decreased at 12 months ie 3.9322%, where from each treatment fat content the highest was obtained at 12 months storage treatment. Conclusion: There are different amounts of fat content in Hotong seeds of Waelo Village on the controls as well as on any storage treatment duration.

Abstract

Background: Toisapu village is one of village in Ambon Island which have potential to develop seaweed. Prospects Seaweed cultivation is very beneficial if growth and quality can be developed as a base for the production of various purposes in the industrial world. However, cultivation techniques undertaken by the local community have not fully had good planting quality. Method: The study includes the preparation phase, the implementation stage, and the observation stage. The parameters measured were the growth rate of Eucheuma cottonii seaweed is weight in the form of gram, using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatment levels and 6 replications. Results: The results of this study show that at a distance of 30 cm seaweed growth experienced a better growth rate when compared with other growth spacing, with wet weight for 45 days was 218 grams. Conclusion: Plant spacing affects the weight of seaweed, a good planting distance for seaweed growth is 30 cm at sea ebb and sea level with average wet weight for 45 days (6 weeks) is 218 grams.

Abstract

Background: Wine sea (algae) and Caulerpa types of Caulerpa letifera racesmosa or in any other language communities of Southeast Maluku call as Lat plant. These algae species are used as vegetables and vegetables are very interested in the community and has become a typical regional menu with a fairly high protein content. Methods: This study is a descriptive study to reveal information about the diversity and patterns of sea Wine distrubusi (Caulepa sp) in the village of Letman District of Kei Kecil. Calculated using the species diversity index formula diversity (diversity) Shannon-Winner, namely: H '= - N Σ Pi ln Pi where Pi = ni / N and to calculate the value of diversity and patterns distrubusi. Results: Based on the research that has been conducted in the coastal waters of the Village Letman District of Kei Kecil Southeast Maluku regency, overall research sites found five species of sea grapes that Caulerpa lentifera, Caulerpa racemosa, Caulerpa sertuloroides, Caulerpa cupresoides / serrulata (Forskal), and Caulerpa taxifolia. Conclusion: 4 (four) research station found the type of Caulerpa lentifera with the number 93, the type of Caulerpa racemosa with the number 79, sea grape Caulerpa sertuloroides with the number 53, the type of Culerpa cupresoides / serrulata (forskal) with the number 59, the type of Caulerpa taxifolia by the number 61.

Abstract

Background: Cassava (Dioscorea sp.) Is a seasonal crop with twisted stems and forming yam. Sweet potatoes contain a large amount of carbohydrates, can be the basic ingredients of making flour, ethanol or alcohol. Method: The population in this study were 25 community-owned yams. This research conducted for 1 month from January 6 to February 6, 2016. Variable in this research is identification of type of sweet potato in Ilmarang Village. Result: Identification of 25 community gardens found 4 types of potatoes consisting of: cassava (Manihot esculenta Crants), sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.), yam taro (Colocasia esculeata L.) and yam gembili (Diascorea esculenta L). Conclusion: Utilization of cassava as staple food of rice substitute and processed into various kinds of products such as crackers and food

Abstract

Background: Economically privilege Enhalus acoroides seed can be used as a food ingredient because it has a complete nutrional content and relatively high. The nature of these nutrients easily digested and absorbed, so it can be processed to be used as milk. Method: To determine levels of protein in milk acoroides based on a temperature of 200C and 450C for storage of 0, 6, and 12 hours using kjedhal. Result: Based on test result using methods kjedhal protein, it is known that the longer the stage in high temperatures, it can increase the protein content. Conclusion: The highest increase in protein occurs at a temperature of 450C for 12 hours with a storage protein levels by an average of 1.9473% and the lowest increased protein 200C lows temperature during storage 0 hours with an average protein content of 1.5071%
