Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the creative thinking process skills of SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Ambawang students in solving contextual problems related to the topic of ratios based on Wallas' theory. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research instruments used were creative thinking tests and interview guidelines. The data sources used were the answers to students' creative thinking tests and the results of interviews with students by researchers. This study reveals about students' creative thinking processes with three criteria for thinking levels, namely students with high, medium and low abilities. Of the 22 students, 23% were at a high creative thinking level, 32% were at a moderate creative thinking level and 45% were at a low creative thinking level. Students who are at a high level of creative thinking are able to go through all stages of creative thinking based on Wallas, at an intermediate level they are able to go through the Wallas creative thinking stage but are constrained in verification and do not find more than one way of solving it, while students at a low level do not go through the preparation stage and verification but find creative ways to solve problems.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of the product being developed. The product developed is a Student Worksheet (LKPD) on flat-sided building materials based on an assisted scientific approach GeoGebra. This research uses the method Research and Development (R&D), the 4D model according to Thiagarajan is limited to 3 stages, namely definition, design and development. The instruments used are test and non-test instruments. Data is processed using Microsoft Excel 2010. The subjects in the research were class VIII students at one of the Cimahi State Middle Schools, totaling 36 students in the limited trial and 72 students in the wide trial. The feasibility of the LKPD developed during validation obtained very valid results. The results of the practicality test in the limited trial were categorized as practical and in the extensive trial it was found to show the very practical category. The results obtained from the effectiveness of the LKPD showed that it was in the very effective category. Based on the research conducted, the results of the LKPD are shown flat-sided spatial building material based on an assisted scientific approach GeoGebra declared feasible, practical and effective for use.

The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. This research used a sample of 25 students from class VIII A of SMPN 7 Cimahi. Purpose sampling technique was used for data collection. Data collection using a test instrument consisted of 3 questions. The technique used to analyze data is to objectively describe the results of students' work, and data processing uses qualitative analysis. According to the results, students face three types of obstacles: ontogenic obstacle, namely conceptual errors, epistemological obstacle, namely difficulties in the process, and finally didactical obstacle, namely difficulties given by the teacher. The research results revealed that 5 students were categorized as good and 13 students were categorized as fair.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and analyze the media visual basic for application (VBA) Excel in improving students' reasoning abilities and active learning through learning models problem-based learning. The research method and design used is a quasi-experimental design nonequivalent control group. The subjects in this research were class VIII students at one of the state junior high schools in the West Bandung Regency area. The data collection technique used in this research is data pretest, posttest, and N-Gain mathematical reasoning abilities and student learning activity questionnaires. Then the data is processed using software Microsoft Excel 2020 and IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The research results show that the application of VBA media Excel through learning models problem-based learning can improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities and active learning. One of the findings shows that students have the ability and skills to apply concepts or material through problems that exist in the student environment and are able to complete complex calculations, analyze data, or prepare solution processes through VBA Excel.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving ability after implementing of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model. The research method used quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study was all students of class VIII of SMP PGRI 5 Cimahi. Two classes as research samples were selected through the Cluster Random Sampling technique, where one class was the experimental class and one class was the control class. The instrument used was a mathematical problem-solving ability test instrument in the form of a description of 5 questions arranged based on indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability. Data processing used the normality test and the Mann-Whitney test. The results of this study were an increase in students' mathematical problem-solving ability who implemented the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model better than those who used conventional learning.

Abstract

This research aims to see the improvement in mathematical problem solving abilities of class VII middle school students through the Discovery Learning Learning Model assisted by animated videos. This research is experimental research.   The population in this study were class VII students, while the sample was students from class VII A as the experimental class and VII B as the control class at SMP IT Al-ajwa Al-Islamy. This research uses the Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The research instrument used was an essay question with a total of 7 questions.  The data obtained will be analyzed and processed using a 2 independent sample test using a normality test, a homogeneity test first as a prerequisite and followed by a t-test.  The results of hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test show that the significant value is 0.000 ≤ 0.05, so is rejected.  So, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning Model assisted by animated videos to improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of Al-Ajwa Al-Islamy IT Middle School students is better and has increased.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the enhancement of mathematical problem-solving abilities among Grade VII Junior High School students using two different instructional models: the Visual Basic for Applications Excel (VBA) Assisted Problem-Based Learning Model and the scientific learning model. The research employs an experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design involving two groups: an experimental class and a control class. The entire 7th-grade population of SMP Negeri 3 Lembang participated in the study, with Class VII-D serving as the experimental group and Class VII-E as the control group. Data on mathematical problem-solving abilities were collected through pretest and posttest assessments. Data analysis was conducted using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 29. The findings indicate that students in the experimental group, who were taught using the Problem-Based Learning Model assisted by Visual Basic for Applications Excel (VBA), demonstrated greater improvement in their mathematical problem-solving skills compared to those taught using the scientific learning model.
