Abstract

Lack of problem solving ability elementary school students in learning mathematics with fractions. The application of solving mathematical problems of fractions has not been carried out optimally. The provision of mathematics learning media is still very minimal, especially in problem solving, so that it becomes an obstacle to increasing problem solving abilities. Learning media is now not only visual media, there are many kinds of media that can be accessed, such as audio-visual media. Video is one of the audio-visual media that can help the learning process. Now it has been widely circulated on various social media, YouTube channels and learning applications making it easier for students primary schools can access learning. However, not all learning videos are in accordance with the learning objectives, many mathematics learning videos have not achieved the basic competence of mathematics, namely solving mathematical problems. Students' difficulties in solving fractional number problems. The study aims to analyze the feasibility of mathematics learning videos in improving the problem solving abilities of elementary school students. This research approach uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are through literature studies and documentation studies. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The result of this research is a video feasibility analysis of students' fractional number completion.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the scientific approach in online learning of quadratic equations and functions in class IX-A MTs.Al-Bidayah. The subjects of this study were 35 students of class IX-A MTs.Al-Bidayah for the academic year 2020/2021. The instruments used are essay test questions, teacher and student observation sheets, interviews and questionnaires. The steps of this research consist of: (1) Planning, (2) Implementation of action, (3) Observation, (4) Evaluation. At the stage of the first cycle, the teacher was less than optimal in applying the learning approach, did not motivate students, and did not organize the learning time well. Furthermore, in the second cycle stage, the weaknesses that occur in the first cycle can be corrected by the teacher. In addition, more and more students are able to take part in learning by using a scientific approach, solving problems, and asking the teacher for things they do not understand. The results of this study indicate that the scientific approach in online learning can be applied and has a positive influence on student learning outcomes in class IX-A MTs.Al-Bidayah.

Abstract

This study intends to find the difficulties faced by students when solving problems in the form of descriptions based on the indicator questions as follows: mentioning the elements of flat-sided shapes, identifying flat-sided geometrical nets, calculating the surface area of prisms, solving problems related to prism volume. , solve problems related to the surface area of the beam. The difficulties often faced by students include applying formulas, understanding concepts and difficulties when doing calculations. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data was collected based on the description of the questions given to the students and then the students' answers were checked and analyzed. The place where this research was carried out was SMP Negeri 10 Cimahi in class IX even semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The population of this research is all students of SMP class IX in Cimahi. 32 students in grades IX – F became the research subjects. The data was obtained from the instrument in the form of a description test given to students. The research data shows that most students have difficulty in working on problems related to the surface area of prisms and beams, the percentage of errors is above 50%, other factors that influence student errors include the lack of understanding and students' definitions of surface area and volume of flat-sided shapes, students find it difficult to apply formulas and are often confused in solving problems using the formula for the surface area of the flat side and the volume of the flat side

Abstract

The focus of this research is to find out students' mistakes when solving matrix material problems. The subjects in this study were class X students in one of the private vocational schools in Kab. Bandung with a total of 23 people. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. In this study there are three stages, namely planning, implementation, and reporting. This research data collection, using student test results based on a matrix question instrument in the form of a description consisting of five questions. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The conclusion in this study there are errors made by students when answering the questions that have been given, namely: students do not use matrix symbols, students do not work systematically, students are still wrong in calculating the final results, students do not carry out the calculation process, students do not understand the problem, students do not find conclusions, the problem solving is not to the end. The percentage of student errors with the highest criteria in solving matrix material questions is in question number 5 with a percentage of 92%. Meanwhile, the student's error with the lowest criteria is in question number 1 with a percentage of 16%.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is part of the main goal of learning mathematics. This study aims to analyze the problem-solving ability of high school students in solving problems with function material. So get a description of students in understanding the problem, devise a plan, carry out the plan, and look back in solving problems. This research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The study conducted on the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Telukjambe Timur, Karawang Regency. The instrument consists of solving the problem of function material which was adopted from the teaching materials of the 2017 revised edition of the curriculum compulsory textbook. The data analysis technique carried out consisted of three stages, namely analyzing the result of students' answers, presenting data from the analysis, and making conclusions from the results of research on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The result of this article provides an overview of problem-solving abilities in solving functional problems carried out by high school students related to mathematical problems.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, learning is carried out online, including learning mathematics. Mathematics education is one of the fields of study that is important to study one of the materials in it, namely the material of quadrilaterals and triangles. However, several studies show that this material is still difficult to understand so that students have difficulty in answering questions about quadrilaterals and triangles. This study aims to analyze students' errors in answering questions about quadrilateral and triangle problems based on Newman's theory. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects were 20 students of SMPN 1 Sindangkerta. Data analysis techniques are divided into three steps: data reduction, presentation of data, and conclusions. The results showed that the mistakes that students made when completing the quadrilateral and triangle material problems were mostly at the skill stage and the final answer stage. Online learning and methods of delivering quadrilateral and triangle material by the teacher also cause students to not understand the material of rectangles and triangles so that students make mistakes when working on quadrilateral and triangle questions.

Abstract

Mathematics is a skill that must be possessed by everyone because it is applied in almost every aspect of life. This study aims to observe the difficulties of junior high school students in solving the Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) material using online learning. For the 2020-2021 academic year, this research was conducted at one of the Cianjur State Junior High Schools. The subjects were 20 students from class IX. This study has test questions with indicators that have been set as instruments. A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study. The findings obtained, some students have difficulty with indicators to solve problems involving a two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV). The results of the analysis show that (1) Lack of mastery of story problems; (2) Obstacles in converting story problems into mathematical models; (3) Do not understand the concept so that students need to be explored or trained more deeply.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid mathematics learning tools. The development of the device in this study uses the Plomp development model which is divided into 5 phases, namely initial investigation, design, relation/construction, test, evaluation and revision and implementation. The data collection instruments used were in the form of RPP validation sheets and LKPD validation sheets. Data collection techniques were carried out by collecting validation questionnaires that had been filled out by experts. The data analysis technique used is validation data analysis. The results of the analysis of device validation data on the data obtained from the three validators obtained an average RPP validation score of 81.6% which is included in the fairly valid category which can be used but needs minor revisions. The average score of LKPD validation is 78.67% which is included in the fairly valid category that can be used with minor revisions. Furthermore, the RPP and LKPD were revised according to the validator's suggestion so that a mathematics learning device with the Treffinger model with the help of the Geogebra application was produced on valid flat-sided geometry material, which the device was feasible and could be used in the learning process.
