Abstract

Articles This research is a classroom action research (classroom action research). The problem formulated in this study is how to apply online learning of algebra material to students of SMP Class VII MTS Negeri 1 Cimahi using a scientific approach? The aim is to find out the application of online learning of algebra material to students of SMP Class VII MTS Negeri 1 Cimahi using a scientific approach. The hypothesis of this research action is that online learning of Algebra material in class VII MTS Negeri 1 Cimahi can be applied through a scientific approach. This research was carried out on class VII-G MTS Negeri 1 Cimahi in the academic year 2020/2021 with a sum of 32 understudies. The instrument utilized is a learning result test as a trial of understudies numerical class activity research capacities a issues (questions) that attention more on understudies internet finding out about variable based math, before the activity with an underlying test, after the underlying test the educator and understudy perception sheet activity is held. Student learning activity in the first cycle is inclued in the quite active category with an average value of 67.50. The student's score increased by 22.50 from the initial test score of 45.00. In the second cycle, student learning activities increased to an average of 78.70, an increase of 11.20 compared to the results of the first cycle test scores. Based on the work indicators, it was concluded that the mastery of Algebra concepts in class VII-G students of MTS Negeri 1 Cimahi could be improved through this approach scientific.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties of students in solving plane figures questions. This research method is a qualitative method with a case study approach, by describing students with high, medium and low abilities. The subjects of this study were eighth grade junior high school students in West Bandung, taken randomly with 9 students with high abilities who could be said to be good, and students with moderate and low abilities were still classified as low. The instrument used is a test item that refers to indicators of mathematical connection ability. Based on data analysis that students do not understand the questions given, lack of understanding in mathematical concepts, students' mistakes in completing questions based on conceptual and procedural, students feel confused when connecting mathematical material with other material so that they cannot work on the problem. With so the results of the analysis of a sample of junior high school students in West Bandung regency with initial abilities of high, medium, and low level students shows the average level of mathematical ability is still relatively low in students with medium and low abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the online learning difficulties of class VIII MTs students on statistical material during the covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method. Which aims to find out and analyze the difficulties of students in learning during the covid-19 pandemic on statistical material. The subjects used in this study were class VIII B students at MTs Al-Lutfhfah, totaling 25 students. The instruments used in this study consisted of an opinion scale for students regarding online learning constraints and statistical material test questions consisting of 6 test questions in the form of description questions. The results of the research obtained in this study are that there are still many students who have difficulty solving statistical problems, especially during the current pandemic, lack of understanding of material concepts and other non-technical obstacles such as the difficulty of accessing the internet for students who live in remote areas to make online learning. Encountered problems in its implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of grade VIII MTs students in working on math problems with statistical material. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. This research was conducted with the subject of 25 students of MTs Nurul Iman Sindangkerta in the academic year 2019/2020. Data collection techniques in this study were conducting preliminary activities, compiling test questions from instrument questions, consulting test questions, collecting data, analyzing and drawing conclusions. The test questions were given in the form of 5 description questions. The results of the study indicate that the 1st indicator solves a problem to draw conclusions with the criteria for a score of 31% which means very low. The second indicator determines the average or mean value of a given data with a score criterion of 60% which means low. The third indicator analyzes data in the form of a diagram correctly and precisely with a score of 81% which means high. The fourth indicator assesses the truth of the data provided, with a score of 72% which means moderate. And the last indicator 5 makes a solution to a problem with a statistical formula with a score of 69% which means moderate.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the students' ability in the school in solving problems about building flat side spaces related to objects in the surrounding environment. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Where the population to conduct this research is eighth grade students of junior high school in the district of West Bandung. The test instrument was in the form of problem statements consisting of 5 questions. The results of this study indicate that students of class VIII at the school have difficulty in solving questions about the material to build flat side space.

Abstract

This study aims to identify students' mathematical thinking skills in questions of flat-sided geometry and evaluate the understanding of class IX students on the previous material. This type of research is a qualitative research with instrument test or posttest without any action beforehand. The questions made by the researcher are questions with the cognitive domains C1-C6, Anderson and Krathwohl's revised Bloom taxonomy with C1 Remember, C2 Understad, C3 apply, C4 analyze, C5 Evaluate, C6 Create. The population used is 25 students with 9 male and 16 female. implementation of research by providing instruments or questions directly. The assessment used is calculated using an assessment formula with an understanding score guideline. The results obtained by students are quite good final scores with specifications C1 getting very good results, C2 getting pretty good results, C3 getting pretty good results, C4 getting pretty good results, C5 getting pretty good results and C6 getting pretty good results. With this fairly good final result, it can be concluded that students in understanding and mastering the flat-sided geometric material learned in class VIII can be remembered well in class IX students by online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the mathematical connection ability of junior high school students. This research was conducted at one of the junior high schools in Cikarang Utara District with the research subjects of class IX 5 students at the junior high schools. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The instrument used in this study was a test of mathematical connection ability in the form of a description consisting of 3 items arranged based on indicators of mathematical connection ability. The data collection technique used in this study was to provide 3 questions to test the mathematical connection ability of the SPLDV material. The data analysis technique used in this study was the data analysis technique proposed by Miles and Huberman which consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study were 2 students were in the high category, 22 students were in the medium category, and 5 students were in the low category. So it can be concluded that the mathematical connection ability of class IX 5 students at the school in solving SPLDV questions is in the medium category.

Abstract

Article is one of the research results written to analyzeor assess an activity that has a problem. This research is closely related to a problem that occurs in schools with certain materials.  The purpose of this study was to analyze the results of the students' mathematical understandingof pythagoras theorem material. Pythagoras material is a subject matter that must be mastered or understood by students with the purpose to add student insightinto the next material.   Therefore,  this research is very useful in assessing and knowing the extent to which students understand the material. This research was conducted to grade IX students of SMPN 2 Cibeber, the total number of students is  19 people consisting of 8 male students, and 11 female students. The research provided  results, that the ability of students are low in terms of understanding the problems given.

Abstract

In the event of the COVID 19 pandemic, face-to-face learning in the classroom is replaced with online learning. In online learning, there needs to be an interesting and innovative learning plan in order for the learning to continue. Based on this, this research aims to produce teaching materials in the form of learning videos about SPLDV materials with problem based learning by using edmodo platform. This type of this research is Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE model. This model has five steps or stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The subjects in this study were grade VIII students of SMPN 6 Serang on the even semester of  2019/2020. The results showed that the validation of material experts and media experts was 75,29% and 79,44% with the criteria "Worthy". Teacher response and student response were 83,52% and 89,03% with "Very Decent" criteria. While in the learning outcomes students get an average score of 83.2 with the percentage interval of student learning outcomes is 80% who get good criteria. This indicates that the teaching materials in the form of learning videos are effective for use.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a field that discusses mathematics which is associated with culture. Among them are traditional games, traditional ceremonial equipment, numbers, and other cultures. This research is qualitative research with a meta-analysis method that uses the results of both international and national previous studies that discuss the use of ethnomathematics in mathematics learning in the 2000-2020 period. The purpose of this study is to analyze each article obtained about the use and influence of ethnomathematics and traditional games in mathematics education. The research results used in this study consisted of 161 articles from 250 articles obtained. The results of the analysis show that ethnomathematics and traditional games have a significant influence on students' mathematical abilities. In general, mathematical material that can be found based on the results of the analysis is geometry, numbers, and algebra. The use of traditional games to instill concepts in students has an impact on students' mathematical understanding. Besides being able to help understand mathematical concepts, character values are also found in traditional games and cultures from certain areas, such as the values of honesty, cooperation, self-confidence, empathy, and others.
