Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) on mathematics learning outcomes of high school students in Serang City in class XI, totaling 173 students. Methods are in use is survey method with approach quantitative.  Instruments that are used include questionnaire ESQ, portfolio results test IQ students and the value of UAS even the eyes of subjects mathematics compulsory students when class X. Technical analysis of the data that is used is analysis of statistical descriptive and statistical inferential includes testing prerequisites in the form of test for normality and test linearity, test the assumption of the classical form of the test multicollinearity and test heteroscedaticity, then do test the hypothesis in the form of test analysis of regression simple and test analysis regression multiple . The results of this study indicate that there is a positive influence between the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and the mathematics learning outcomes of high school students, there is a positive influence between the Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) and the mathematics learning outcomes of high school students, and there is a positive influence between the Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) and mathematics learning outcomes of high school students.

Abstract

Mathematics education is a very influential role for us because we will encounter it in aspects of evryday life. This study aims to observe and examine the difficulties of private junior hight school students in mathematics lessons, namely the SPLDV (Two-variable linier equation system) material in online learning for the 2020 and 2021 academic years. This research was carried out by one of the private junior high schools in the Cililin area. The subjects of this study werre 27 students and from class VIII. This study has test questions white indicators that have been applied as an instrument using newmen steps. In this study, using a descriptive quealitative approach, the findings obtained using the steps of te newmen procedure, some student experienced errors white indicator for solving problems involving SPLDV (a system of two-variable linier equations). The results of the analysis show that reading errors (reading errors) reading examples of math problems, so that student are femiliarwhite symbols commonly used in math problems, comprehension errors (comprehension errors) students are given learning and practice working on more complexn questions. Intensive, and learning materials are more related to the surrounding environment and daily life so that students easily find things that are know and things that are asked in questions, transformation  errors write down students’ method in process skills. This is done by increasing that number of practice questions white a variety of varied questions so that students’ skills and accuracy in analyzing and finding methods and procedures for arithmatic operations increase, process skill errors (processs kill errors) mastery of student formulas, students should be emphasized more for memorize it but to be understood. Teachers should provide the concept of mathematical formulas so that students are familiar white the steps of the problem solving process and are not fixated one the formulas they memorized, and writing errors in the final answere (encode errors). Errors in doing math problems and students who have low cognitive abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this observation is to find out whether the application of a scientific approach can help students to be more independent in learning, given that there are still passive students and a lack of enthusiasm and independence ion learning. The method used is the method of assignment and question ad answer. The population in this observation was students at one of the private vocational schools in Cimahi City and the sample was taken from 35 class XI students. The instrument used was an essay test consisting of six essay questions with a pretest, posttest, stage equipped with a questionnaire instrument consisting of 14 statements positive and 14 negative statement and interviews. The data processing technique used is triangulation technique, which combines various data processing techniques. Based on the research that has been done, the results of the application of the scientific approach show that there are changes in student learning that are more independent.

Abstract

The type of research used is Research and Development with reference to the Plomp development model which consists of several phases, namely the preliminary investigation phase, the design phase, the realization phase and the test, evaluation and evaluation phase.  revision (Test, Evaluation and Revision).  The product developed in the form of teaching materials, namely problem solving based modules on social arithmetic material, the test subjects in this study were class VIIB students of SMPN 19 Bulukumba with 30 students.  The instruments used in this study were expert validation sheets, student activity observation sheets, teacher ability observation sheets in managing learning, student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests.  Based on the results of the limited trials carried out, it was found that (1) the results of the validation of teaching materials were 4.4 in the "Sangan Valid" category because they were in the interval 4.3 M 5, (2) practical because the average percentage for student responses was  89.2% and the average percentage for teacher responses was 92.5%, each in the “Very Positive” category.  (3) effective so that it can meet three criteria, namely the average ability of teachers in managing learning is 4.67 in the "Very Good" category, the average percentage of student activity is 73.2% in the "good" category and the percentage of completeness  student learning is in the "high" category and achieve classical completeness, namely 83.3% of students classically complete.  So it can be concluded that in the limited trials carried out, problem solving based modules on social arithmetic material in class VII SMPN 19 Bulukumba have met the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the students' difficulties in solving problems on the flat side of the space. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with the population used is 26 junior high school students in one of the schools in Cianjur Regency. The data collection technique carried out in this qualitative descriptive study was carried out by giving a description test question of 5 questions. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and concluding research results. The conclusion of the data is taken from the percentage of the question indicators and then concludes the average results of the overall indicators. The result of this research is that students are still wrong in solving flat-sided space problems, precisely on questions number 4 and 5, with the indicator for question no 4 is determining the volume of cubes and blocks and question number 5 with indicators determining the surface area of the pyramid. The difficulty of students in solving questions number 4 and 5 is that students do not understand the problems contained in the questions so that students are wrong about taking steps in solving problems. In addition, students' errors in solving flat-sided geometrical problems are (1) negligence in analyzing the problem; (2) Lack of students' accuracy in answering questions; (3) It is difficult to determine how to answer the question.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to determine the forms of mistakes who made by students in solving contextual mathematical problems related to congruence and similarity. The subjects in this study were 28 students of IX K at SMP Negeri 1 Pasawahan. The data collection method was carried out through a written test consisting of 5 (five) items of description and interviews on selected subjects. Data analysis used refers to Newman's analysis consisting of 5 (five) error stages of reading problems, comprehension problems, problem transformation, process skills, and encoding. From the results it was found that the mistake who made by  students is 23,6% reading error, 51,4% comprehension error, 32,1% transformation error, 13,6% process skill error, and 50% encoding error.

Abstract

This research was conducted to measure the effectiveness of using mathematics learning videos containing local wisdom during lectures through the Zoom application, and was conducted in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year at the campus of the Santu Paulus Ruteng Catholic University of Indonesia. The instrument used was a test, and data collection was done by giving a test description. Hypothesis I was tested using paried sample test, while hypothesis II was tested using independent sample test. The results showed that in the experimental group the pre-test average was 76,32 and the post-test average was 85,63, while in the control group the pre-test average was 76,95 and the post-test average was 79,00. Homogeneity and normality test results obtained data homogeneous and normally distributed. Hypothesis I test results obtained sig value. = 0,000 <0,05 so that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in the mean pre-test and post-test mean in the experimental group, where there is an increase in the average student's mathematical learning achievement of 9,31. Hypothesis II test results obtained sig value = 0,000 <0,05 so that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in the average mathematical learning achievement in the experimental group with the control group, where the experimental group is higher than the control group. Thus it is concluded that the use of mathematics learning videos that contain local wisdom during lectures through the Zoom application is effective.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the mathematical creative thinking skills of junior high school students in one of the state junior high schools in West Bandung district that has implemented the 2013 curriculum with the research subjects of grade VII students as much as one class. The indicators used in students' mathematical creative thinking are fluency, flexibility, authenticity or originality, and detail or elaboration. The ability to think creatively is the ability to think with the aim of generating new ideas or various answers to a problem by paying attention to the quantity of answers and the quality of the solution. The test instrument used was written as many as five essay questions. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method. With data processing techniques through data tabulation, then calculated percentage then interpreted. The conclusions from the results of this study indicate that mathematical creative thinking of junior high school students in one of the state junior high schools in the area of West Bandung Regency is classified as moderate.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the types of mistakes made by students in solving the problem of building a flat rectangle. This type of research is a qualitative descripive. With a research sample of 9 grade VII students taken randomly. The problem is about the instrument used in the connection capability test in the form of 5 rounds of essay. Methods performed using qualitative descriptive. Based on the data analysis obtained as much as 11.1% of students doing careless errrors (Ca), 33.3% of students made the error Concept errors (Co), 22.2% of students made a mistake application errors (Ap), 22.2% of students made a mistake Test Taking Errors (Te). It means that the whole student still feels difficulties in resolving the problem relating to the concept of a rectangular flat build.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in the 2013 curriculum emphasizes the pedagogic dimension which aims to create active students so that they are able to develop their mindset and accustom them to finding solutions to their own problems. This research aims to develop test instrumen to measure computational thinking on number and sequence pattern material in SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa that meets valid and practical criteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of developing test instrumen to measure computational thinking on number and sequence pattern material in SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) that focused on development model of B&G (Borg & Gall) which contains 4 stages: the information gathering stage, the planning stage, the development stage, validation and trial stage. The subjects of the trial were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. The instruments used in this study were the validation sheet and the teacher response questionnaire. Based on the Results of the study, it was found that (1) the validation results for test instrumen to measure computational thinking were 4,46 so that they only uses a teacher response questionnaire for all aspects in the very positive category with a percentage of 90,6%. So it can be concluded that test instrumen to measure computational thinking on number and sequence pattern material in SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa meet the validity and practicality criteria.
