Abstract

A person's moral is reflected in morals. This can be obtained from education, especially Islamic education as al-Zarnuzi's thought is known for his moral messages in his Ta'lim al Muta'allim work, but so far many students have found failures in terms of moral competence, then this paper is discussed using library research that is by searching to collect, read and analyze the research problem in the books. The findings show that learning must intend and have a goal to seek the pleasure of Allah, written, repeated lessons that have been learned, deliberation, Taammul. In addition, al-Zarnuzi also explained some of the requirements in seeking knowledge in order to succeed. The students must be smart, have high curiosity, be patient, have money, listen to the instructions from the teacher, and have time to study. Furthermore, when viewed from the area of ​​time setting and the place where Shaykh al-Zarnuji lived, distance and time stretch between the past and the present. The problem that may occur today that it can be called weakness is that the instruments and tools used to develop education certainly cannot be applied just like that in the present. One example is the role and behavior of respecting teachers. If what al-Zarnuji says is explained exclusively, what ultimately happens is unconditional obedience. This is where future education will lose its significance. So a possible weakness arising from al-Zarnuzi's thought is a textual understanding of his work.

Abstract

Human is the creation of Allah swt who have morals, potentials, orientations, and tendencies toward positive and negative things. It is a characteristic and moral tied in every human. To neutralize and create a better human which is in accordance with the main purposes of His creator, it needs specific ways to maintain a pure human appearance in their daily life. One of the ways to return and maintain their pureness is through dhikr. It has been implemented by one of the traditional educational institutions in East Aceh, namely the Islamic Boarding School Asasul Islamiyah and the Islamic Boarding School Darul Muta'allimin. In addition, besides teaching a religious subject as the main subject matter, they are also having daily dhikr-routine, before and after praying, and it becomes the main purpose to develop students’ morals. This study explores the implementation of dhikr as a development toward Islamic boarding school’s students’ daily morals in East Aceh regency, with aims (1) To figure out what kind of the several dhikr in the Islamic Boarding School Asasul Islamiyah and Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh regency, (2) To figure out a mechanism of implementing dhikr in the Islamic boarding school Asasul Islamiyah and the Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh, (3) To know an implication dhikr toward daily morals’ development in Islamic boarding school Asasul Islamiyah and Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh. This present study is qualitative research which is used as a field research method and uses primary and secondary data. The data collection methods used are observations and interviews. The present study found that the varied of dhikr words which are pointed in Islamic boarding school Asasul Islamiyah and Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh Regency is istighfar, tauhid (لا اله الا الله), tasbih, tahlil, shalawat (remembering The Prophet), yassin, reciting Al-Qur’an verses and having a close-by reciting do’a. The mechanisms of implementing dhikr used in both Islamic boarding schools, methodology and time, are similar; using dhikr dzahir and dhikr sirri, in addition, the time is daily; before and after praying. Moreover, one of the dhikr implications toward the students’ daily morals development is enhancing Islamic spirituality through remembering Allah SWT in order to form a balancing life between the world and the day after, also have good morals toward humans (habl min al-nās) and Allah SWT (habl min Allāh).

Abstract

Student behaviors are the nature of actions possessed by students which are influenced by customs, attitudes, emotions, values, ethics, power, persuasion, and genetics. Student behaviors are grouped into reasonable behaviors, acceptable behaviors, strange behaviors, and deviant behaviors. However, what has been portrayed today in both international and local media is that there are many deviations in the student behaviors especially at the junior high school level. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the types of student behaviors in the learning process at school, the procedures in developing the student behaviors within the Islamic religious education learning process, and the obstacles in developing the student behaviors within the Islamic religious education learning process. The study took place at two public junior high schools, SMP Islam Darul Ulum Banda Aceh and SMP Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. The study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results of the study showed that the types of student behaviors in the learning process varied greatly. There were students who were passive and those who were active. In terms of the porcedures, is done by analyzing the needs of students. Further, the obstacles in developing the student behaviors included the lack of attention from the parents/guardians regarding changes in the student behaviors and the lack of communication between the teachers, the parents/guardians, and the Islamic education teachers.

Abstract

A teacher has a big responsibility in the teaching and learning process. Therefore, the teacher must motivate the students because motivation is one factor that can affect the success or failure of all student activities in learning. This study aims to determine the strategies of Islamic Education teachers in increasing learning motivation, efforts of Islamic Education teachers in increasing student motivation, and to find out the obstacles and solutions as an effort of Islamic Education teachers in increasing student motivation of Junior High School in the sub-district of Wih Pesam, Bener Meriah Regency. This study is through a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study concluded that the Islamic Education teacher strategy in increasing student learning motivation Junior High School in the sub-district of Wih Pesam, Bener Meriah Regency can be done with several steps, including; explain learning objectives to students, give gifts (rewards), bring up rivals or competencies, give praise, provide penalties and sanctions, generate encouragement to learn, form good learning habits, help students learning difficulties both individually and in groups, using various methods and must be by the learning objectives. Islamic education teachers' efforts in increasing learning motivation can be made through two motivational approaches, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation can be done utilizing; giving gifts (reward), giving positive competence, giving advice and guidance, giving punishment or sanctions. While the extrinsic motivation approach can be made using the suitable method, the teacher must be creative, carry out self-reflection for students, give responsibility to students, make changes to the learning atmosphere, learning objectives must be clear, and identify student learning outcomes. While the obstacles faced by Islamic Education teachers are: still lack of reading books, lack of motivation from parents, improper learning methods used, and lack of interest in students in Islamic Education. While the solution is; foster students' interest in Islamic Education lessons, provide advice and guidance, give parents advice, and add activities to Islamic Education.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the understanding of PAI teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Sigli on the concept of RPS based on HOTS, the pedagogical competence of PAI teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Sigli in preparing HOTS-based Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), and the factors that influence the competence of PAI teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Sigli in compiling HOTS-based RPP. To achieve these objectives, this study uses qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques are done through interviews and document analysis. The subjects of the study were 3 PAI teachers from SMA Negeri 1 Sigli, the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Sigli, and the Deputy of Priancipal of SMA Negeri 1 Sigli in the curriculum. The results showed that: (1) In general PAI teachers who served in SMA Negeri 1 Sigli had a good understanding of the HOTS-based RPP concept, but one of them was still lacking, this was evident from his doubts in answering questions that the authors asked even there were some questions answered do not know. Besides that, it can also be seen from the discrepancy between the explanation submitted and the compiled lesson plan; (2) The results of the analysis of the Teacher's Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) indicate that the majority of PAI teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Sigli already have good competence in preparing HOTS-based RPPs, although they still need to be improved through trainings, while 1 other teacher does not yet have good competence, (3) Factors influencing pedagogical competence of PAI teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Sigli in preparing HOTS-based RPP consist of internal and external factors, each of which is differentiated into supporting and inhibiting factors. Supporting internal factors are self-motivation, while internal inhibiting factors are: (1) age, health and years of service and (2) ability to use media and IT-based tools. Supporting external factors are: (1) motivation and appreciation from the school; (2) participation in the district MGMP PAI forum, and (3) training, while the external factors inhibiting are: (1) limited infrastructure; and (2) the condition of students who tend to be passive.

Abstract

The responsibility of religious education is the most important responsibility for parents and educators because it is the center of all resources. However, in practice there are still many educators who do not pay attention to the religious education of their students, they prioritize education that is only worldly. The research method used is qualitative research. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is thematic analysis. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of Islamic education in Kuttab students is going well. Opportunities for the application of Islamic education to Kuttab students starting from the education system, curriculum, and teachers are extraordinary in maximizing education for children. However, it also has challenges that greatly affect children's education, namely gadgets, games, and shows that are not beneficial to children, so it greatly influences the education of their faith. The advantages of the implementation of Islamic education in Kuttab, namely that children have begun to form creeds according to their age. While the drawbacks are that the application and understanding of Islamic education in Kuttab are not comprehensive and agree on all teachers and the environment that does not support the concepts that have been implanted in Kuttab.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The preliminary observations on MIN 5 Banda Aceh and MIN 11 Banda Aceh found that the learning plan that teachers had carried out was not yet optimal, affecting the implementation of learning. Learning evaluation had also not yet included all aspects of competence, in addition to the lack of efforts by schools to improve teacher competency. In this study, the aim was to elucidate the learning problems of morals and aqeedah at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN/Islamic public elementary school) of Banda Aceh City. This study used the exploratory method with the inductive approach. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation, from the school principals, vice principal of curriculum affairs, and teachers. The results showed that the planning of morals and aqeedah learning at MIN 5 Banda Aceh and MIN 11 Banda Aceh was conducted in an initial annual meeting, by compiling a complete set of learning tools and their components by each teacher. The implementation of morals and aqeedah learning at both schools was carried out in varied teaching methods using relevant learning materials. Moreover, the teachers have displayed a good example in front of the students. They have also evaluated the learning with predefined learning objectives. Further, the evaluation of the curriculum at the executive level such as the teachers was conducted in a variety of ways including supervising, reminding, reprimanding, giving examples, giving rewards, and giving punishments. In terms of learning evaluation in class, the teachers assessed the students through written tests, practice tests, or observations in accordance with the materials being taught. The efforts taken to improve morals and aqeedah learning at MIN of Banda Aceh were carried out in relation with the problems. For example, on the issue related to the teachers, both schools tried to improve teacher professionalism by holding training in the school and allowing the teachers to take part in training/workshops outside of school. By enhancing teacher professionalism, the learning process in the classroom can also be improved ABSTRAK Sebagaimana pengamatan awal pada MIN 5 Banda Aceh dan MIN 11 Banda Aceh didapatkan perencanaan pembelajaran belum maksimal, sehingga berpengaruh terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Evaluasi belum mencakup semua aspek kompetensi serta masih kurangnya upaya sekolah terhadap peningkatan kompetensi guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan problematika Pembelajaran Aqidah Akhlak pada MIN Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode eksploratif dengan pendekat induktif. Melalui metode eksploratif peneliti melakukan pemecahan masalah yang digali secara luas tentang hal-hal yang mempengaruhi terjadinya sesuatu berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang terjadi di lapangan. Untuk mendapatkan data yang akurat dan terpercaya, hal ini dilakukan dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, interview dan dokumentasi, baik dengan kepala madrasah, waka kurikulum dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran aqidah akhlak di MIN 5 Banda Aceh dan MIN 11 Banda Aceh dilakukan dalam rapat awal tahunan, dengan menyusun secara lengkap perangkat pembelajaran beserta dengan komponen-komponennya oleh setiap guru aqidah akhlak. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran aqidah akhlak di MIN 5 Banda Aceh dan MIN 11 Banda Aceh sudah digunakan metode pengajaran bervariasi, dan media yang digunakan juga sesuai dengan materi pembelajaran. Guru sudah menampilkan keteladanan baik dihadapan peserta didik. Bahwa evaluasi pembelajaran aqidah akhlak di MIN 5 Banda Aceh dan MIN 11 Banda Aceh dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui apakah tujuan-tujuan pembelajaran telah tercapai sesuai dengan rencana yang telah ditetapkan. Evaluasi terhadap kurikulum pada tingkat pelaksana seperti guru dengan melakukan beragam cara seperti dalam bentuk supervisi, mengingatkan, menegur, memberikan contoh, memberikan reward, memberikan punishment. Untuk evaluasi belajar di kelas, melalui pelaksanaan penilaian siswa baik secara tertulis, praktik, atau pun pengamatan sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan. Upaya yang ditempuh dalam peningkatan pembelajaran aqidah akhlak di MIN Banda Aceh, dilakukan sesuai dengan problematikanya, misalnya berhubungan dengan guru, MIN 5 Banda Aceh dan MIN 11 Banda Aceh untuk peningkatan profesionalisme guru, maka sekolah mengadakan pelatihan-pelatihan peningkatan kompetensi guru, juga memberikan izin bagi guru yang mengikuti pelatihan/workshop di luar sekolah. Dengan professional guru maka terjadinya peningkatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru terhadap peserta didik dalam kelas.

Abstract

Abstract The development of Islamic education in Indonesia was marked by the emergence and growth of Integrated Islamic schools. The term ‘integrated’ existed in order to counter the dichotomous education mindset. One example of such integrated schools is NurulIshlah Integrated Islamic Primary School (SD IT Nurul Ishlah), an alternative educational institution that combines various disciplineswith religion in order to eradicate the dichotomy in science. This study aimed to investigate the model, strategy, and obstacles of the integration of tawheed (monotheistic) values in the science lesson about the solar system. The study was a qualitative study, with the object of study being the integration of tawheed values in science lessons at SD IT NurulIshlah Banda Aceh. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The analysis was done by interpreting the collected data from which the conclusions were drawn.The results of the study showed that the integration of tawheed values in science learning about the solarsystemused the integrated model, as both kauniyah (natural phenomena) and qauliyah (the Qur’an) aspects were combined. The integration also employed several strategies during learning, including lecture, question and answer, assignment (recitation), discussion, and group work. On the other hand, the integration faced some obstacles in science learningwhich further became a reflection for the science teachers, such as the difficulty in finding thetawheed values that were truly relevant with the scientific concepts or materials, especially about the solarsystem, even though each teacher has been provided with examples of integrated Qur’anic and Hadith values from the educator team.

Abstract

Education plays a very important role in the process of improving the quality of human resources and is a process that is integrated with the process of improving the quality of human resources themselves. For this reason, the government implements School-Based Management which involves relevant stakeholders, especially the community. This study aims to find out and analyze the collaboration of the Committee (community) with the Head of Madrasa in terms of improving the quality of education at Madrasa Aliyah Negeri in Banda Aceh City. Data collection in this study was conducted by interview, documentation, and observation. While the results of this study are the authors find that the Cooperation Committee and the Head of MAN in Banda Aceh City have been carried out in the form of partnerships that synergize and mutually understand the roles and functions of each institution in order to improve the quality of Madrasah education, this is clearly seen by the implementation of the boarding school program, student creativity activities, extracurricular activities and also academic achievement of students who continue to increase along with the increasing intensity of collaboration of the committee and the head of the Madrasah as a whole in all aspects that include learning activities, facilities, infrastructure, and technical education materially and non materially, so that it gives a significant influence on the quality of education at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Banda Aceh City.

Abstract

One form of actualization in Indonesian education was the establishment of a body called School Committee that replaced the existence of the Education Organizing Body (BP3), stipulated through the Decree of the Minister of National Education No. 044/U/2002 dated April l2, 2002. The name of BP3 was changed to the School Committee due to the need for full community involvement in improving the quality of education. One of the objectives of the school committee is to increase the responsibility and participation of the community in the implementation of education in the education unit. In this present study, the focuses were on the process and the mechanism of the formation of the madrasah (Islamic school) committee organization, the planning carried out by the madrasah committee in improving the quality of madrasah education, and the implementation of the madrasah committee programs in improving the quality of education in Aceh Besar District. This study employed qualitative research methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings showed that the process and the mechanism in forming the madrasah committee in Aceh Besar District were based on the decision of the Ministry of Education on the establishment of community-based organizations, including by mutual deliberations or meetings held every 3 years in a transparent, accountable, and democratic manner, and by involving the community as an education unit partner. Further, the planning of the madrasah committee in improving the quality of madrasah education was carried out by establishing the structure of the committee and holding regular meetings with madrasahs and the community every three months or at the end of each semester, and also by preparing and organizing religious and national holidays together with other madrasahs. In addition, the madrasah committee programs were well implemented in Aceh Besar, as seen from the involvement of all elements from both madrasahs as the organizers of the activities and the community as the provider of advice and input. The programs included the religious and extracurricular programs in collaboration with the sub-districts and district of Aceh Besar.
