Abstract

Gresik urban area is dominated by industrial, housing, trade and services activities. The growth of activities contributes to the land use change from green open spaces into built-up areas. The impact of land use change influence the level of air pollution and CO2 gas emission in Gresik urban area. The previous study briefly shows that this urban area produces 50.37% of the total CO2 gas emissions. The production of CO2 gas emissions should be controlled to reduce the impact of climate change in urban areas such as increasing urban temperature, hydrological cycle anomaly, drought, land degradation and other social and environmental issues. The green open space can recycle the CO2 gas emissions and can increase the absorption capacity of the CO2 gas emissions (bio-capacity). The land cover change for built-up area potentially reduces the absorption of CO2 gas emissions in Gresik urban area. Therefore the identification of the land cover change on CO2 emission absorption becomes an objective of this study. The preliminary study can formulate the strategic steps in the development of Gresik urban area that supports urban greenery and adaptive effort to respond the climate change. The study is conducted in two steps. The first step is to analysis the land cover change based on the Landsat satellite imagery analysis. The second step is to measure the dynamic change of the region's ability(bio-capacity) to absorb CO2 emissions by using ecological footprint analysis. The results show that Gresik urban area has a high development of developed land to the North area, Manyar Sub District. The growth of the developed land is more converting the fishpond land. The green areas in this regiontend to be influenced by farming activities which also convert into fishpond land. Bio-capacity of CO2 gas emission absorption increases from 2003 of 3.548 gha to 5.656 gha but the comparison between bio-capacity of CO2 gas emission absorption and developed land shows the declining tendency in each year. In 2003, the comparison score is 1.59 gha/ha of developed land. In 2014, the score is declining into 1.48 gha/ha or developed land.

Abstract

Climate change continues to occur and have an impact for the survival of mankind. Climate change is not only a natural phenomenon, but also includes contributions from the behavior of the human. Hence need for awareness and goodwill of all parties, especially the young generation, to reduce the impact of climate change. This study aimed to analyze the influence of factors of knowledge, perception and attitude towards pro-environmental behavior intention of the young generation. By using multiple regression analysis, the results of this study show that the factor of knowledge, perceptions and attitudes about climate change have a positive influence and significant to pro-environmental behavior intention of the young generation. Furthermore, of these factors, the perceptions of the climate change are factors that have a more dominant influence on the intention proenvironmental behavior of the young generation. Thus, in order to further grow and develop the intention of young people to behave in a pro-environment, for they need to be given opportunities and greater access to resources and information channels to increase their knowledge related to environmental strategic issues, especially climate change and its impacts, so with the knowledge that will shape their perceptions better on climate change and, in turn, will form a more empathetic attitude. For that, the one way can be used is to empower organizations where they are working as a means to increase knowledge, shape perceptions and attitudes and arouse their intentions to behave pro-environment, through the activity of an organized, planned and organized.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

In order to determine the effect of load change to ship velocity on a 2.5 GT fishing boat, a field test is conducted in the present study. The boat model used in the field test is an actual size boat made from fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) material. The boat is powered by 2 (two) 15 HP direct drive engines each equipped with 3-bladed single screw propeller. Two loading cases are investigated and analyzed which are no load case and with load case. For each case, 4 (four) engine power variations are performed which are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The main parameters measured are boat draught, engine power percentage, shaft revolution speed and boat velocity. From the field test, it is found that even though the propulsion performance increases larger loading and displacement, the increased boat resistance due to larger wetted surface make the boat velocity reduces.

Abstract

Currently Information Technology is increasingly needed by many organizations. Implementation of inappropriate IT in the organization will be a burden, even can hinder the development if not in accordance with the vision and mission of the organization. Weill and Ross also stated, 48 percent of companies that do IT investment cannot increase the expected value. A solid foundation in the execution process of IT implementation plays an important role in determining the success or failure of the company to achieve the desired goals. To build a solid foundation on the execution process of IT implementation, one of the important things to note is Enterprise Architecture (AE). Enterprise architecture provides a long-term view of the processes, systems and technologies in the company, so there is a harmony between business and IT both for now and for the future to achieve the desired goals. Currently the use of cloud computing technology increasingly used in organizations. Organizations typically have a variety of different platform integrated applications that are used to support their business processes. There are many frameworks used to build AE, but there is no AE framework specifically addressing AE design on cloud computing and supports multiplatform and cloud-based IaaS. This paper discusses the use of TOGAF and CERM to educational institution that have many integrated multiplatform applications. AE design that was built is validated by using Enterprise Realization Score Card (EARS) to assess whether it can be implemented well in the organization.

Abstract

Accurate forecasting of Photovoltaic (PV) generation output is important in operation of high PV-penetrated power systems. In this paper, an adaptive uncertainty modelling method for forecasting error is proposed to improve the prediction accuracy of PV generation. The proposed method models the uncertainty in forecast data using Kernel Density Estimator and guarantee the provision of accurate expected value. Neural Network model is then constructed by the developed uncertainty model to forecast the PV output. The actual confidence level is traced within the day and injected as an input to the Neural Network model by observing the Mean Absolute Prediction Error (MAPE) and Unscaled Mean Bounded Relative Absolute Error (UMBRAE). The proposed method is tested with various significant changes of weather condition and proved to have promising performance on PV generation forecasting. Thus, the developed adaptive uncertainty model can be further used in power system planning that have high-penetration energy sources with stochastic behavior.

Abstract

This research studied about making hard capsule shell using glucomannan extract from salak seed (Salacca edulis Reinw.). The glucomannan extracted by using etanol 96% and aqua dm. The glucomannan that had been extracted will became KGM polymer that will be used for casting the hard capsule shell using petri cup. The results obtained by smashing the seeds of salak to be smooth with meat grinder and glucomannan extraction using 2 methods with etanol 96% and isopropyl alcohol. After extracting the seeds of salak seeds, the bacon seed flour is weighed and taken some samples to obtain the best composition, resulting in a film layer on a thick capsule shell like a capsule shell in general. The result of the printing on the petri cup is still a thin layer that can not be taken, but this proves that glucomannan contained in the seeds of salak able to produce lapisal film capsule shells with the right composition.
